Bad staff experience. Doctor out of town and I did not feel comfortable to proceed, so I asked to cancel and refund the money right then. They said they needed a code for refunds and both dentist and manager out of office so they could not. I said I would wait for a refund, and they called the cops because I "refused to leave." Long story short, the police did come and during all of this commotion the substitute dentist never showed their face. I do not believe there was ever a dentist on site present. An intern came out and I would have easily passed him off as the sub dentist, but I asked who is was in front of the officers and he said an intern, so as I said, I do not believe a dentist was on site at all and I will never go back there or recommend them to anyone. No special treatment or proper apology was given and I was left to deal with the embarrassment of some receptionist crossing the line. When I had every right to get a refund that day and leave. I still believe I got screwed over and it upsets me to this day. multiple dentist I have spoken to since, I mentioned I should go to the board, but I dont blame Dr. Farmer for what happened to me, but I do blame him for not making it a comfortable environment I could go back to. i.e. schedule me on a day the two power people are on vacation. It got far too escalated for no reason. Not appropriate whats-so-ever.There is no excuse. I noticed everyone got a "response from the owner.." and since I did not, I thought I would make an update: Week after returning into town, dentist did send an apology email and stated (tiny summary) that the employee had been coached on the matter... basically, she was on a power trip and thats all there is to it, thats not how you treat a new patient who has serious anxiety about the dentist.... and then you schedule her when the dentist isnt there.. i never would have gone for that.... Even after this email, I never felt comfortable or welcomed enough to go back, and I can honestly say, there was likely NO SUBSTITUTE DENTIST on site that day.. its highly unlikely, considering all that went down that day, with two cops being called in, and all the misunderstanding filing around... and everyone else in the office present to see the cops.. but the SUB DENTIST "never came out..." yea right.. dont believe it for a second. If you dont like dentist, dont go here... they dont care, and will treat you with whatever attitude it on the menu that day. Minus the cleaning lady, she seemed very sweet. but I didnt have much time with her, and spent most of my time in shock that the receptionist was mad at me for being uncomfortable that doctor was around during my DEEP CLEANING. Later, a periodontist, told me a deep cleaning was NOT warranted and "sometimes, its sad, but dentist will do this to get more money from insurance." I have since found a WONDERFUL dentist, whos staff are amazing, and would never treat me like this or toss me aside because of a bad experience, they would make it right. When I had an issue with a cavity, they didnt make excuses, they cared, they brought me in, and wanted to make sure I got the treatment/care I needed and PAID FOR! I feel like this staff/office, doesnt care who you are, unless youre an easy fix. I have an anxiety about the dentist, and I prefaced it to this office before scheduling an appointment, and what do they do... set me up for a two part deep cleaning on the days the doctor is not in... sure... makes sense.

Dr. Michael Farmer is not only one of the nicest and most intelligent people Ive had the pleasure of knowing, but he is an amazing dentist that truly cares about his patients. His practice is immaculate and warm, and his staff is incredibly welcoming and knowledgable. I used to fear going to the dentist because I hate being in any kind of pain, however, Dr. Farmer was not only incredibly patient with me but very considerate of my fear of pain. It was a completely pain-free experience and he gave me great advice to prevent a cavity from forming! I appreciated how honest he was also because I havent been to the dentist in years (due to the fear of pain) hence my mouth was not in the best shape. Most other dentists would have started drilling away but not Dr. Farmer, he recommended a preventative care strategy and we will revisit that snarky tooth at a future appointment. As I was sitting in the chair I noticed pictures of Dr. Farmer with adorable children smiling and asked him where they were taken. Turns out, he donates his time and energy in going to Africa for a month every year to volunteer his skilled dentistry talent. He was so humble about it too. What a gem, if you decided to go to anyone else for your dental needs youd be making a mistake. Ive already referred my mother to get her teeth cleaned at his practice.

This place was right down the street from me. I had me teeth cleaned once and I was in so much pain afterwards. I thought maybe it was just a bad hygienist. I had a filling done after that and I had to come back because they did not shorten my filling and I could feel where they put in the filling every time I moved my mouth. I had a follow up cleaning 6 months later and it hurt so bad I sat in my car and cried. I almost called out of work it hurt so bad. I have really pretty white teeth and I always get compliments from my dentist and the hygienist about easy it is to work on my mouth. I have had cleanings since and before going to Plaza Mid wood Dentistry and I never experienced the pain I went through at their location. I recently moved to the Rock Hill area and thankfully I found someone in the area. The staff was okay. Just a little heavy handed.

Although root canals are never enjoyable, the team at Plaza Midwood Dentistry was incredible. From working me into the schedule, throughout the procedure and then personally calling to check up, Michael showed a down to earth, genuine concern and helped ease any anxiety I may have had going in. Couldnt be happier. I have a new dentist for me and my family.

Dr. Farmer and his staff are excellent. I never feel like I am being sold unnecessary products or services, or am talked into anything. He and his staff make sure that I understand procedures before they start, and that I am comfortable with what needs to happen. Best dentist I have been to in years!

The BEST dentist ever. Today was my first visit and he was so professional. He was sociable and knowledgeable about what was going on and fixed my issue fast without any problems. Easy to tell he cares about his patients! Will definitely recommend.
