A couple of years ago my father was in rehab at River Glen, after open heart surgery, for approximately a month. It was by far the worst nursing home I had ever visited. Although I know there never is enough nurses in a nursing home, the nurse on his floor could not give you the time of day, especially if you called for any issues. His wheel chair had no leg extensions on them that fit. When asked for ones that fit and not the BENT ones that were on the chair, we were told they didnt have any more. He had back issues and when I requested a cardiac recliner chair, I was told that they needed those chairs for patients that had to be parked by the nursing desk so they could be watched. All these issues and more were reported to the supervisor. Unfortunately, I never called the Umbudsman as suggested at another highly reputable, and caring facility. I wish I had because it may have benefited other patients! My mistake! I am a nurse and come from a medical family with enough knowledge of what should be provided for proper care of patients. Rating this facility with one star is even way too much!

Wish this joint could be rated zero stars! THIS PLACE APPEARS TO BE ARROGANT AND UNCOMMUNICATIVE AND ONLY CATERING TO THE DOLLARS THEY CAN COLLECT FOR FILLING BEDS. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A SUITABLE PLACE TO BE CALLED A LEGITIMATE MEDICAL FACILITY. The administration is appeared secretive and unresponsive and the staff, with many exceptions of course, seemed young and inexperienced and insufficient for the patient load. Speaking with some supposed nurses, made me feel uncomfortable with their abilities. However, much of this may have to do also with their doctor on call, so sort of nurse from a local MD group who really did not seem to understand the progression of her cases. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PLACING A LOVED ONE IN THEIR CARE.

I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WHEN MY FATHER TOLD ME THE DOCTOR WAS GOING TO STOP FEEDING MY STEP MOM BY IV AND THEY WERE ONLY FEEDING HER SUGAR WATER FOR HER CELLS.
