Excellent dental care. Friendly and knowledgeable doctors and staff. After many unpleasant experiences at my childhood family dental office (rude hygienists, patronizing doctors, unclear billing practices, etc.) I finally decided to look for a new dentist last year and Im very happy to have found CT Family Dental so close to home in Waterbury CT. THE DOCTOR: I see Dr. Tulasi Vikram and I have had nothing but positive experiences with her. She is excellent. Bedside manner is very important to me and Dr. Tulasi is friendly, knowledgeable and always asks if I have any questions at the end of each visit. The latter is something I truly appreciate about her. Several times now I was able to catch her in the front office to ask a question and she has always stopped to take a few minutes out of her busy schedule to take a quick look at my teeth and give me her professional opinion. In the past I’ve had other dentists rudely brush off questions and tell me to come back for another office visit. This is not the case at CT Family Dental. Unlike my last dentist, it’s clear that Dr. Tulasi puts the patient before profit. Equally as important: Dr. Tulasi has skill. I have many many (some very large) cavities on 8 or so of my teeth that she has been working on over the last few visits. Recently, I have had 2 major (four surface) fillings with pulp caps done in attempt to avoid painful and expensive root canal procedures. Dr. Tulasi, despite not being sure if she could avoid root canal, was able to do these large fillings successfully. I haven’t had any issues with any fillings yet, fingers crossed! Im convinced her skill saved my teeth from root canals- I could hug her for this! In my opinion good dentistry helps the patient avoid painful invasive procedures and keeps costs low. I think Dr. Tulasi practices good dentistry and I trust her skill. THE COST: The office manager Mr. Sathyan is just fantastic. Personally, I appreciate transparency in billing practices and this office offers exactly that. Mr. Sathyan is very friendly and seems genuinely sympathetic to the high cost of dental care. He takes time to sit down with you to discuss your treatment plan. He shows you down-to-the-dollar estimates of each procedure, insurance coverage and payment options. You see where the money goes for each visit and thus you can plan accordingly for future visits. Mr. Sathyan will work with you to create a payment plan if needed (I did this last year to cover some major fillings I needed). I highly suggest meeting with him prior to expensive procedures for anyone on a tight budget. In my eyes the ability to be a part of your treatment planning and billing sets this office apart from other dental offices. It’s a major reason why I come back and why I’ve already recommended this office to coworkers and family. Transparency = trust. THE FACILITIES: The front desk staff greet me with a smile immediately when I sign in. I like this, it takes the edge off stepping into a dentist’s office. The waiting room and exam rooms are kept neat and clean. There are large flat screen TVs in the waiting room and each exam room. It’s a nice touch- helps pass the time while waiting or to distract you during a procedure. The exam rooms also have fun decorations and paintings on the walls for kids to look at during their visit. The office will email and text you to remind you of appointments. I find the day before text to be a super helpful reminder. A+ for a dental office that is keeping up with the times. OVERALL: I regret not switching to Dr. Tulasi at CT Family Dental sooner. I highly recommend this dental office as I have nothing but good things to say. I’ve already gotten a coworker to switch to this dentist, next is my stubborn mother. :)

I am pleased with the dental services I have received at CT Family Dental. My first visit was for a dental cleaning and I was impressed that the dentist, not a dental assistant did the cleaning. Furthermore, they use a cavitron which is a high pressure cleaner that uses water. The cleaning took about 10 minutes while at other dentist offices where the assistant cleans and and scrapes and takes 45 minutes. One dental office charged extra for the cavitron. I left the same dental office because of poor hygiene but notice no problems at CT Family Dental. I also appreciate Amit, who handles the billing and insurance for being honest and upfront. Lastly, CT Family Dental uses an oral surgeon named Earl James. He is excellent and did a procedure to save my wife from having a root canal. I would indeed recommend this firm to friend

CT Family Dental is the best place to go if youre looking for great dental care and a professional, courteous environment. The receptionists are friendly and helpful, the assistants are knowledgeable and efficient, and the dentists are experienced, informative, and thorough. Everyone there reflects a commitment to customer service and excellent dental hygiene. They accept husky insurance and provide detailed care that exceeds the states standards. They perform all dental services from cleaning to crowns, and have an oral surgeon available for consultation and in - depth procedures. Prices are reasonable for those without insurance, and discount plans are available too. Overall my experience there with everyone has been pleasant, professional, and courteous. Definitely give them a call!

My family and I have gone to ct family dental a few times now for dental worK. I can say nothing but positive things about the staff and Dr.V!! Dr.V made my 3 year old son feel as comfortable as he should for his first cleaning, and to this day he still talks about how much fun he had at the dentist. Weve been to other dentist offices and this is the cleanest and friendliest environment we have been in. The dental work my wife and I had was completely pain free. I cant wait to go back next week to get the rest of my "in terrible condition" mouth done. So far my consistent pain in my mouth from cavities and root canals is almost non existent. Again I recommend ct family dental HIGHLY!!! They really make you feel like family!! thank you family dental, Josh Brown

This dental office is the WORST dental office I have ever been to. First and foremost, they are in multiple violations of HIPPA and health standards as they do not properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize their dental tools. I saw the doctors take one tool from one room that they used in a patients mouth and put it into someone elses mouth in the next room without cleaning it. Secondly, they screwed my mouth up so much. DO NOT GO HERE.The indian doctors both tried to do a root canal on my tooth and put me in the hospital for 3 days because they went too deep and broke my nerve. Again, I warn you - DO NOT GO HERE. I have called the American Dental Association, Better Business Bureau, and the Medicaid Department to complain about them as their work is so bad.

Dr. Gupta is the best dentist Ive ever had. She changed my life. I got to know her really well, six visits and around twenty fillings and never once was nervous or afraid even though before this experience I was absolutely terrified of just the idea of going to the dentist! Dr. Gupta gave me back my confidence. And the ladies up front stayed with me the whole time. They were friendly and sweet to me and even gave me hugs and high fives when I finally finished my last filling. I recommend Connecticut Family Dental to anyone, especially those who are afraid or hate visiting the dentist, I know they will give you the same experience they gave me. Thank you Dr. Gupta and all the ladies at Connecticut Family Dental, Ill see you for my cleaning in July!!
