The doctor herself is a gem. She is kind and understanding, well spoken, considerate and thorough. She explains your care well, considers your feelings, and address your concerns. Her office staff on the other hand are absolutely deplorable! Referrals and test results take an unreasonable amount of time, call backs never happen (Ive yet to receive one), and you can expect to be on hold for awhile. Same day appointments do not exist. If you need to be seen right away you have to show up at 7 or 3 and wait in the cattle call line to take whatever doctor will see you. Your ONLY other option is to make an appoint for several months away. A few months ago a receptionist gave me biopsy results over the phone (after waiting 8 days for results) and told me I was being referred to an oncology surgeon. After extreme upset, lots of phone calls and a wonderful surgeon, I learned it was a whole lot of misinformation. You can imagine how upsetting that might be. Six weeks later, after I had already seen the specialist, been treated and had recovered, I finally got a call from my primarys office that they wanted me to come in and discuss my biopsy results. Unacceptable. Also in mid March, a recommendation was sent to the office for me to be referred to a neurologist. It is currently late July and I STILL do not have an appointment scheduled with a neurologist. Attempts to speak to an office manager have been unsuccessful. I really like Dr. Haywood. If she ever changes practices or goes out on her own, I will gladly follow if she takes my insurance. If not for her, I would have left this God awful health care center in the dust a long time ago. **Update** Showed up for a scheduled appointment on Aug 1st only to be told the doctor is out of town and the next available appointment wouldnt be until mid September. I waited 45 minutes to speak to the office manager but no one ever came out to speak to me. I left the office and called the corporate office and left a message for the Operations Manager. Still nothing. As of the morning of 8/5, I still do not have an appointment for that referral Ive been waiting for since may...Im definitely switching doctors!!
