I was a brand new patient when I first met Dr. Lyra for an annual physical. After waiting an hour I was finally called in by the medical assistant. The medical assistant then placed me in a room for the usual questioning before being seen by the doctor. While being questioned, another medical assistant from across the hall started a conversation with the initial medical assistant about food & gossip. This normally wouldnt bother me, however, the initial medical assistant continuously stopped what she was doing to carry on her conversation with the second medical assistant and was unable to do both at the same time. At that point I honestly had a bad feeling but nevertheless, I remained pleasant and didnt say a word. After being placed in the exam room, I met Dr. Lyra. Dr. Lyra was initially incredibly pleasant & welcoming. Next, she started the physical exam which I had previously done countless times, all of them being done smoothly, comfortably, (considering) & without any problems. I found Dr. Lyra to be incredibly rough and a bit all over the place. After remaining pleasant and essentially keeping my mouth shut the whole time, I nonchalantly noted that I didnt recall it being so rough and lightly laughed to keep it lighthearted since I almost always keep my mouth shut when uncomfortable & never say anything, despite truly feeling traumatized by the whole exam. To which Dr. Lyra unapologetically responded (and with a smile on her face), "Well maybe you should go back to the doctor youve previously done them with." I am completely and utterly flabbergasted at how rude a doctor could be to a patient. I believe that ALL doctors should make their patients feel comfortable and at ease but most especially at a gynecologist. But if you dont mind waiting an hour, being continuously interrupted mid-questioning by staff so they can continue their conversation about yogurt & cheesecake, & a doctor who seems could care less about your comfort level, feel free to make an appointment with her.

This doctor is exceptional! I would recommend her to colleagues and friends. Dr. Lyras staff is also exceptionel and professional. Dr. Lyra herself is very understanding and knowledgable. I am extremely glad that I found this doctor and her office.

Dr Lyra is a good doctor.. Gigi her assistant is very helpful. The only annoying Part is bringing your id to the doctors every time you visit. They should have a pic in the system so Id isnt needed every time.
