I have got to say that Baptist Hospital Childrens ER is the absolute BEST!! We were attended right away and seen by Dr. Ligio Antonio Tavarez. This man was beyond AMAZING!! Not only did he ask plenty of questions and took my concerns seriously but he even asked me what I thought about his plans for testing my little Thomas Hendrix. HE ASKED ME IF I WAS OKAY WITH IT!! Who does this?? Usually you go to the hospital and they just run whatever tests they want and as much tests they want just to bill insurance, yes we all know its true! This was only the start of all the doctor did right on this day. You know the doctor is good when he tells you "I dont want to over test him and I dont want to under test him." Ahh, love at first sentences. After much discussion about his symptoms, little one obtained a pyloric ultrasound, abdomen and chest x-rays, urine test and an RSV test. After these exams, Dr. Tavarez returned to advise me he was awaiting the results and asked us if we were hungry or thirsty, we declined the offer but lo and behold this amazing man came back a few minutes later with a sandwich, chips, snacks and juice for Rubie and myself. (Did I mention this guy was the BEST?!?!) This kind gesture was much appreciated. He returned to advise us that he is diagnosing Thomas Hendrix with GERD and that all tests were negative except for the RSV which came back that he had a mild cold. A MILD COLD?? I had no idea. Little one had absolutely no symptoms except for boogies that would stuff his little nostrils up but no fever. I would not have known, if it was not for Ligio Antonio Tavarez, M.D. Thank you so much for being you!!

We were vacationing in Fl. and my niece hit her head and had started having convulsions. We were so concerned about not having her regular pediatrician attend to her. We went into the hospital and from the very beginning the staff members displayed such concern and empathy. The nurse "Bell" was amazing with my niece she was very patient and caring. We finally got introduced to the Dr. (Dr. Taverez) and it was amazing he actually sat down and went through the findings of each of the tests that were taken. He followed up after and made sure my niece was ok. We couldnt have asked for a better physician. My only regret is that he s so far away now as we a re back home in NY. Dr. Tavarez God bless you and thank you for exceeding our expectations :)

God bless this doctor. Of the many trips with my son to the Baptist ER today was the first time he has seen my son. I have to say he is the only one that actually did any blood work to get behind whatever my son had. He kept him there to give him his treatments instead of just sending him home. He compared x rays from before, contacted my sons pulmonologist personally and even sat down and went through all the lab results with us. I have to say he is a blessing of a doctor with great bed side manners. Thank you doctor!!!

What a PHENOMENAL physician!!! Dr. Tavarez is a ROLE MODEL!!! This is how all physicians should be!!! Extremely humble, caring, patient and provided detailed explanations. He treated my daughter in the Emergency Room at Baptist Hospital in Kendall late afternoon, and personally called us back the following morning to check on how my daughter was feeling and to remind us of what we had discussed during the ER visit. Keep up the great work, Dr. Tavarez!!!!
