Ive had a cyst on my lower eye lid which Ive been ignoring due to clastrophibia. While flying from Orlando to Austin, TX a month ago, I sat next to a woman whos husband is a med sales rep in the opthomology field. Her husband was kind enough to refer me to Dr Mallon who is located in Vero Beach. I just left his office and and am so impressed and grateful for his excellence that Im writing now, before I have a chance to forget. The facility is well equipped with the newest technology, the staff is professional and friendly, (and I did require assurance) and Dr Mallon is exceptional! Ive gone to a few different opthomology practices in Brevard County and have been less then impressed. But not today! I assumed I would be coming in for evaluation as is usual protocol - and while I was quietly panic stricken when he announced wed remove it today and send it to pathology, Im so relieved to leave his office able to move forward no longer feeling self conscious about my eye! He was kind, and precise, and quick and very skilled. And despite my usual poor experience with dentists and eye doctors, today I had a procedure done with next to no anxiety. I cant imagine going anywhere else in the future for my eye health care. An hours drive to this office is a small thing for the quality of care received.

This is not a Review, but a response to the above Review by Matt Manera. Please allow me to explain. I certainly understand your frustration and negative feelings based on your understanding of what took place at my office. I would like to apologize. In our Practice, the patient is always right. I would like to clarify a few items though. Your son had an eye exam by myself, Adam M Katz, MD. I am a Board Certified Opthalmologist who has completed a 3 year fellowship in Retina. I have been practicing ophthalmology for over 20 years. The refraction (glasses check) was done by our technician who is trained in refraction. Refraction is considered a non-covered service by most medical insurance plans and therefore, we collect the $45 refraction fee at the date of service and refund it to the patient if we are in fact reimbursed. If the $45 refraction fee presents a financial burden to one of our patients, we simply dont collect it. Per your Insurance company, the UHC co-pay for my exam is $50 (not $35). We do not have the authority to change that amount. I hope my explanation clarifies some of the confusion. Again, I apologize for your bad experience with my office. I would be honored if you woud give us another chance at some time in the future to do a better job. Thank you.

From the first appointment it became clear Advanced Eye Care is a most professional medical service provider. Timely service at the appointment time is standard. Little waiting to be called for ones appointment. The technicians evaluating my condition were far more thorough in their examination than any other previous examination Ive had at other providers. Dr. Mallon is held in the highest regard in the Vero Beach community. His evaluation and analysis of my eyes were far above that considered standard in the insurance industry. Simply said, Dr. Mallons analytical standards surpass the economics of insurance providers. He puts his patients first by employing a simple standard; prior planning prevents poor performance. In a word, my cataract surgery was "perfect". I highly recommend Advanced Eye Care and Dr. Mallon to anyone experiencing degraded vision resulting from cataracts. My 72 year old vision after surgery is fantastic. I have the visual acuity I had at the age of 21.

After surgery on one eye, I can read the instructions on the eye drops bottle, I cant wait to see what happens after the surgery on my other eye. The staff are very professional, Dr. Mallon is thorough, takes his time with you, answers all of your questions, and is very patient. Dr. Mallon was my husband and in-laws eye doctor, and I started going to him after my doctor moved and her replacement I didnt care for. Dr. Mallon recognized my case was a different from the norm and treated me as such rather than just grouping me in with everyone else and saying surgery wont help. Well he was right, and it has helped. Thank you!!!

Dr Mallon did my cataract surgery. He and his staff were dead on in picking the lens type that would best suit my goals. He took the time to discuss my options and asked what I wanted to get out of this surgery...as far as my sight. I am so excited to be able to do things without my glasses on for the first time in over 20 years. Dr Mallon put me at ease as I was quite nervous about the surgery. It took all of 10 minutes or less. Could not see or feel anything during the surgery. Dr Mallon and the entire staff are very attentive and caring.

After my visit to Advanced Eye care, I decided not to have the cataract surgery after the Doctor advised me thatI would no longer be able to read anything without special reading glasses. To my surprise, I received a bill for $231.42 for some type of eye exam that my insurance did not cover. I feel that if my insurance thought that the exam was necessary , they would cover it. RIPOFF. My sons eye exam was conducted by a high school graduate without formal training except in house. They charged $45. for the refractory exam, but took a "Specialists" deductible on my insurance. The refractory exam is covered by my insurance, but they insisted that I pay in advance for the exam and the deductible. BEWARE, this place is a ripoff. I will go back to Walmart, where the eye exam is totally conducted by the DO.

My 3.5 year old daughter has been to the Center for Advanced Eye Care twice now on an emergency basis. Both times we had an amazing experience with Dr. Schnell, he was kind and patient with my daughter!! I will never take my children anywhere else. I am grateful to have received such quality care for my child.

I would highly recommend the Center for advanced eyecare for all of your eye needs. Dr. Mallon, Dr Katz, and Dr. Branigan have served me very well . The entire staff is very well trained to accommodate each patient with their positive and friendly attitudes.
