Been going here since I was 16 for general medical issues, until recently I needed to see the Infectious Disease specialist. This has been a 6 month long process, so going to sum it up as quickly as possible. Dr. Cardona may be nice, but her office staff and nurse lack of care for patients shows. On NUMEROUS occasions, I had to call and leave message after message and no one would ever get back to me regarding my results! At one point, they had the results for 2 weeks, and never called to tell me. It was ALWAYS a pain to get ANY information from ANYONE. Everyone was initially nice, but after the months progressed and I had to deal with them on a DAILY basis, I learned this offices true colors. So much to the fact, after 10 years of using Cleveland Clinic, I have opted out and am transferring to a new doctors office with RAVE reviews. If you check online, you will see other reviews for Dr. Cardona say the same thing... Shes nice, but impossible to make aappointments with in a timely fashion, every time I would have to book OVER a month in advance. Luckily they classified what I was dealing with as an emergency and were able to escalate me each time to see her, but it was ALWAYS a mission, and required lots of work on my end. Not only is it impossible to get in touch with her or her staff, or to have them give you a SIMPLE 2 minute phone call back, but the issue was NEVER successfully treated! She put me on medicine after medicine, which made me sick to my stomach everyday, but I conitinued to take it. No effects, in fact, the last antiobiotic she put me on seemed to make my symptoms WORSE! I had to stop immediately. Luckily, Dr Cardona happened to be out of town (for the SECOND TIME in 1 month!!!) so I had to explain to her partner Dr Tarchini, who was hands down 10x more helpful than she was. He listened to me, and helped me with what I needed while she was away. But of course upon her return, everything went to crap again. I asked multiple times to be switched to Tarchini, but he said Cardona knows way more about my problem than he did. I took it upon myself to do lots of research and tried some natural remedies and stuff I could do at home to help, and I swear it helped more than ANY of the medicines she prescribed me! (Look into Colloidal Silver for natural remedies!) After a month of no symptoms I stopped treating myself, thinking I was cured, unfortunately Im starting to notice faint signs of the infection coming back... I started taking my silver again and its helping, but made an appt with a NEW Doctor this time, in hopes of a final solution. Anyway, 6 1/2 months later, still battling the same initial infection I went in with, but out over $900 in co-pays and antibiotics, not to mention the hundreds I owe to the collection agency now.. THANKS FOR NOTHING Cleveland Clinic! Been a decent 10 years, but only takes 1 doctor/office to screw that up!

1. I have been a patient with the endocrinology department for several years now, and I think my patience has run out. I have now waited more than 55 minutes on the phone to speak to a human being. This is consistently the case. Absurdly long wait times to speak to a "caregiver" is a consistent and pervasive experience with Cleveland Clinic. I guess they have become so greedy and cheap that they refuse to staff their phones appropriately and provide decent medical care. 2. The reason I called Cleveland Clinic is because my pharmacy has contacted them 8 times to renew my critical prescriptions and they have not responded. This is not a surprise given the wait times and the inability to actually contact any medical provider. I have now been waiting a month to get my prescriptions renewed. 3. Most importantly, my father just went through a negative medical experience with this organization. The cardiology department attempted to give him stents because of blocked arteries. The procedure was not successful, and additionally did not anesthetize the area appropriately and caused extreme bruising and pain. They said that my father needed bypass surgery because the stents were not an option. That is acceptable, doctors have bad days as they are human. What was not acceptable is the fact that they booked us with a cardio thoracic surgeon with a surgeon who was far from the most reputable surgeon in the building, and who characterized the operation as "low risk". This was a reoperative bypass surgery on a person with one kidney, diabetes, high blood pressure, and pump head symptoms from a previous procedure. The doctor claimed that the hospital did few reoperative procedures, and recommending that he meet with anyone but the best surgeon in the building is irresponsible, negligent, and scary. At the recommendation of a physician in private practice, who left Cleveland Clinic, we got a second opinion. This non Cleveland Clinic local doctor was able to successfully do the stent procedure and my father thankfully was able to avoid high risk bypass surgery. If we had used Cleveland Clinic, my father would have gotten his sternum cracked open for no reason and potentially died on the operating table. This occurred in the last couple months. We also contacted and sent medical records Cleveland Clinic Ohio, because they are "supposedly" the best cardio thoracic surgery center in the country. It has been months and they have not responded, as they promised they would. Its a good thing that we had another option outside of this deteriorating institution.

In February 2015 I saw Dr. Arjun K. Srinath, M.D (foot orthopedic surgeon) I was in great pain due to a number of previous reconstructive surgeries I had done in my right foot. Dr. Srinath referred me to a PAIN MANAGEMENT doctor. I was scheduled to see Dr. Amir Dawoud. But, once in his office it turned out Dr. Dawoud did not treat feet, but spinal cord issues. He asked me who had referred me to him, and why. He finally added he could not help me. I left his office, and tried to get an explanation from FRONT DESK Supervisor Natasha Clark. To my total dismay Ms.Clark not only refused to hear my complaint, but also flatly refused to refund my $40.00 copay stating Dr. Dawouds visit had been a "2nd opinion". I could not accept that, so I looked for remedy through their OMSBURDEN (excuse the spelling) office. I was assisted by Ms. Lisa Nobo. She heard my complaint. Called me 2 days later, and concurred with Mr. Clark. I contacted my Insurance Co. asking them NOT TO PAY for the charge since there was NO visit. After 2 long months Ms. Nobo agreed there had not been a visit. Dr. Dawoud himself told her he had nothing to do with FOOT PAIN, but SPINAL CORD PAIN. Only then, I was refunded my $40.00 copay. Little did I know. In December 2015, a COLLECTION AGENCY contacted me because I had failed to pay a Dr.s visit at CLEVELAND CLINIC WESTON, FL. The name of the physician showing was Dr. Dawoud. I had to fight now this time the COLLECTION AGENCY. The lady on the phone asked me if I had any proof of what I was saying. I produced a letter Ms. LINDA NOBO had given me apologizing for all the mishap, and returning me a check for $40.00. I faxed that letter to the COLLECTION AGENCY, and the lady promised me she would fix the problem. But the real problem with CLEVELAND CLINIC is not its doctors, who are top of the line. The real problem is the NON-MEDICAL OFFICE PERSONNEL, the BUREACRACY surrounding the doctors. They are INNEFICIENT, RUDE, OBTUSE, WONT LISTEN TO ANY COMPLAINT. And will get away with murder in the process. My experience was so aggravating I decided NEVER to set foot on a CLEVELAND CLINIC facility again. I had all my doctors: nephrologist, hepatologist, orthopedic surgeron(foot, knee), cardiologist at CLEVELAND CLINIC because of the convenience of ONE STOP SHOP. Not anymore! I have moved elsewhere now. I truly regret their BLATANT INEFFICIENCY, but that was it for me. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO CLEVELAND CLINIC! Romano A. Lopez, former CLEVELAND CLINIC patient.
