Because my kidney doctor works there, I was forced to go there, but December 16th, I went in because I had a cyst on my tailbone. I went to the emergency room in pain. Instead of them numbing the cyst with numbing cream first like newton does, they just stuck me with lidocaine and began sqeezing. I cant take motrin, but the doc on call gave me a prescription for it, which I had to tell him I couldnt and wouldnt take it. I was all set to go when all of a sudden I got a fever of 103.4 so they kept me and admitted me. The worse experience ever. I stayed there until December 27th. When I got to my room, my ears began to ring and I began to vibrate. No one could tell me why, then I was prescribed sleeping mess when I wasnt having problems sleeping. I woke up in a panic attack and forgot where I was. Not to mention I was diagnosed with mrsa after going to this hospital. I couldnt keep my food down and they couldnt tell me why for that as well. I also had one nurse who was very rude to me who kept calling me lazy and that I wasnt walking around enough for her. She told me that I had a cysts because I was at home doing nothing. She also kept messing up my IVS because she would jam the medicine in my arm and it would cause them to stop working. Because of her, I ended up with 5 IVs. My arm was bruised and still is. She snatched my arm when I told her that the alcohol she was wiping for the thousandth time was burning my arm. She drugged me up and then decided that I needed to walk after that. Went thriugh my belongings to get my shoes, put them on me and stood by my bedside until i got up. She then followed me oyt the room and thought it was funny that i had to hold the wall while walking. She was rude not only to me, but also my family who came to see me. Not mention because Im on peritoneal dialysis, I had to bring my medicine and machine and do it myself because their nurses are not equipped to do it and they wont train them. I had one doctor, after telling him my ears rang, look at my ears with his cellphone flashlight. I had another one who told me that the smells that I was smelling in the room were in my head, but it was actually the water from the sink. I had to keep telling the nurses that I couldnt hear them and could they come closer and talk louder, but none of them would do it. And after damaging my arm and me keep asking for a pick line, finally gave me one when it was too late cause they finally let me go and had to take it right out. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOSPITAL. There were a few great nurses that I had and I would suggest they transfer to another hospital. They need to let us put no stars cause 1 is too good for this hospital.

Visited the ER this past Friday at 3am. What I liked: 1. There was only one other person waiting so I had a room within 20 minutes after arriving. 2. The staff accommodated me quickly with a wheelchair & throw-up bag, taking vitals etc 3. The nurse hydrated me and gave me zofran for pain which helped me to stop throwing up constantly. What I did not like: 1. The ER was not sanitized the rest rooms were filthy too. 2. Although they upcharged my insurance and ran all kinds of tests, they never did find anything. 3. The RNs needed ALOT more training. For starters, the male rn caused a great deal of pain just sticking the iv needle into my vein. Ive had it done more than half a dozen times and its never hurt that badly. Left a big hole in my arm as well... The female rn used a blood pressure pump on the same arm which my iv was in and stupidly decided to take out my iv and get a blood pressure reading altogether. Well how about my blood splurged out everywhere onto the bed/clothing and scared the crap out of me. I lost at least 2 full tablespoons of blood from that. "Oops thats never happened" was what she said. She quickly left and came back restating that "Youre not supposed to do the blood pressure if it is on the same side as the IV.." she should have said Im sorry and I SHOULD HAVE NOT YOURE SUPPOSED TO. 4. Released me in pretty much the same condition as I came in but with 5 new prescriptions. (I also had a big problem at the pharmacy because I told the RN at Rockdale that Im allergic to a specific medicine & TO MY SURPRISE, she had prescribed EXACTLY WHAT I SAID I WAS ALLERGIC TO) 5. After following the doctors instructions upon release and taking the medicine they prescribed, I was yet still vomiting uncontrollably, in severe pain, and by the time I realized that I should have skipped them altogether, my heart rate had dropped way below normal. Im on a heart monitor at a much more attentive.facility.

Life on the staff at this Hospital to be very incompetent of keeping things organized. We have been waiting for over 5 hours for blood work and when my husband goes up to ask them about it they said theyre waiting for a room for him to see a doctor. My husband says about the doctor has already saw me and he want a blood work done because he cant access the situation and my care without seeing blood work results. A few minutes later they call him back for the blood work. He tells them and the doctor that he has pain in his arm between the elbow and the wrist and instead of looking at that and next train. They want to x-ray his shoulders and neck. And then they were mentioning to him that they want to give him fluids but my question to him why would they be giving him fluids when hes not dehydrated and less he needs antibiotics but they cant answer that yet. This Hospital needs serious management control here to get things organized and get the staff better at doing their job and keeping things organized and orderly manner. How did they think a doctor can access what therapy of patient needs are medications without getting test results from Labs or x-rays. I was totally shocked when the doctor said he wanted to see X-rays and blood work done and they sent my husband back out into the writing room until they were ready to do the blood work and x-rays. In hospitals that I have been in before they have staff members that come to the ER that take care of your x-rays in your blood work are they take you down to where you need to go for them. What would have happened had my husband had fainted while they were moving them around having him to stand up and walk. This Hospital clearly needs someone to come in and reevaluate how they do and operate this system.

I have seen and read some of the bad experiences some people have had with this hospital. I pray to god. This have change since the last time the reviewers wrote/went to this hospital. My experience is this..... For one week my mother have been feeling back pain and having difficulty to breathe she ignored it. Then it got so bad that we went to Dekalb Medical (Hillandale) in Lithonia, Ga. They ran some test and did a Ct scan they seen she had gallstones 3 size of a medium-sized watermelon. The first doctor come in and say: We see everything so we gone talk you about having surgery. After waiting 3 hours the doctor that does the surgery comes and say we will give you a physician to follow up with. Im like what wait.... So they give her some Percocet pills for pain. We get home. My mom is in more pain the pills only put her to sleep not really helping the pain. So the next day she tried to just sit in warm water and I massage her back. That help alittle bit. She finally ate something. She went back to sleep. Later that day the pain became unbearable so her friend took her to Rockdale Medical and they seen her and look at what was going on and remove the gallstones... Praise God and the hospital staff. Gallstones can kill you... Especially, from the size and them trying to pass out your system on their own. I just wanna Thank Rockdale Medical for helping my mother Aleta L. Mathis. THANK YOU!!! FROM THE MATHIS FAMILY... #ROCKDALEMEDICALISAMAZING
