The overall experience was so poor that giving 1 star is a bit optimistic. The first strike was Russell Med forgetting to call me with my blood test results. 15 days after they were returned to Russell, I decided to call and find out- sure enough they were back. The front desk girl came up with a million excuses(lies). Paula in billing will never answer the phone, return calls, or follow up with her promises, despite admitting a billing error. Angela and the other girl working the front desk are just rude. Angela, if you would please take my advice on professionalism and not laugh at your past and potential client when they ask a question(no matter how silly you may think it is). Also, you should wait for the patients permission to access the medical records. Dont just think since you are an employee its ok to review the medical records. Please stop giving medical advice- you are not a doctor. I wish I could remember the other rude desk girls name. She acted like I was wasting her time when I even made her engage in her own job. Lol, pathetic. So I call back for a follow up visit today despite their bizarre behavior(honestly Dr Boyd was the only good person I met). I am informed that the doctor I saw 3 weeks ago is no longer accepting anyone- thats the only explanation Angela has. Russel Medicals pricing on my initial visit and bloodwork was competitive but they poorly manage their business so they lost my business.

I found the office staff and nurses rude, antagonistic, and disrespectful. They are not interested in helping the patient, only in relaxing and joking. I had a consult with a therapist who recommended a particular medication. He had his assistant contact Dr. Uruttia, then called me back saying the doctor said it would be fine, meaning she would prescribe it. I needed the medication same day, and had taken the initiative that morning to call and Dr. Uruttia and let her know the therapist would be calling. When I got out of work that evening, I contacted the pharmacy to see if it was ready. They never received the prescription. The pharmacy tried several times to contact this doctor, who would not return calls. I, in turn, tried to contact them, managed to speak to the nurse, who snickered more than once while telling me I had to be seen by the doctor. This nurse constantly talked over me, and I had to request someone else. She transferred me to front office, who found everything amusing. Angry now, I asked for the office manager, who said that if I am having this much trouble, maybe I should find another doctor. It was an amazing experience. I have never seen a group of people so anti-patient in my life. They are beyond unprofessional. They did not even have the common courtesy to communicate with me in the beginning to facilitate remedying my problem. I will NEVER GO BACK! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I recently moved and needed a local Physician. My wife looked online and picked Dr. Brandee Urrutia to perform my yearly physical/check-up. All she did was blood work for the 3 hours I was stuck at this place. There was no physical whatsoever. Even my physicals as a teenager were more thorough. Testicles and Colon are always checked at my age. Not at Russell. First Doctor ever that has not given a complete physical for my yearly check-up. As for the blood work, I received a voicemail from a nurse quoting, "Everything looked Good." No explanation. I should have stopped there and chose another practice for my family, but I made a follow up appointment so I could have my blood work explained to me and also to transfer my prescription consent from my previous Doctor. Dr. Urrutia reviewed my prescriptions and said she would be happy to take care of it as long as I came into the office every 3 months. One week later when my prescriptions came due to refill, she had a nurse call me and let me know she would not be providing my prescription refills. If you want a very long unprofessional Doctor visit with no results, you found the right place! The only thing you can count on at Russell Medical is the bill! I asked for a refund as she accepted $$$ for services she never provided and I was told, "sorry, it has already been billed." Too bad there isnt an option for no stars.

Given the culture of this practice it is not one I could in good conscience recommend to anyone I know. They do not return phone calls in anything that could remotely be called timely fashion. Yes, I consider eight hours more than reasonable for certain kinds of questions. They also dont listen very well. The nurse practitioner that saw me the last time prescribed a number of medications that were frankly worthless because she was prescribing for a symptom I didnt have, and I said so repeatedly. The one that was worthwhile she only gave me enough for a week when this condition often needs to be treated for two to four times longer. So, while I was a lot better at the end of a week, I wasnt completely better and this was no surprise to me, although it apparently was for her. However, when I called to see if I could get a refill instead what I got was “we need to see you to see if you are really getting better,” as if I cant tell that my symptoms are resolving very well. Their response was “we have to be sure youre really doing better to be safe.” As one medical professional to another, you can justify anything in your own head, but sometimes its just not necessary. Unfortunately, this all seems to be okay with management.

I made an appointment the day before to see the nurse at 11:30 and when I got there at 11:30 they said I would have to wait till 1! Not due to emergencies, but their lunch schedule and they were running late. It was the nurse I was willing to see. I asked if I could wait in waiting area and answer was sure. Then 30 minutes later was told I would have to leave and come back, since they were going to lunch. I was very sick with upper respiratory infection and lived in the next county, so going home and coming back was not going to happen. I explained that at 11:30. My blood pressure was 172 ( top number due to pain). I guess lunch is more important than a patient. They lost my business this day and that of my husband. What is a clinic without clients? I ended up going to another clinic and they saw how sick I was. Even though it was their lunch time, they willingly took cared of me. I had to get a steroid shot and antibiotic.

I have been a few times and each time has been a different experience. However after my last visit I will not be returning there for any kind of care, urgent or primary. I waited 30 minutes for a scheduled appointment with Wendy to find out when they brought me back that Wendy was not in due to schedule adjustments and I was going to see Dr. Brandee Urrutia. First, I should have been called to see if I wanted to reschedule my appointment with Wendy when they changed the schedule. Since that didnt happen, upon my arrival at check-in I should have been told she was not there and given the option to reschedule. After meeting Dr. Brandee Urrutia I would have rescheduled. Let me just say that my appointment left me questioning her credentials and wishing I had left after waiting 10 minutes for a scheduled appointment. And beware of billing issues, they never get resolved.
