Thanks to Rosin Eyecare I developed a corneal ulcer that forced me to take two incomplete grades and miss an important funding deadline because I was unable to see for more than a month. This has been the most excruciating experience of my life and the biggest health problem I have ever faced, and the experts at the University of Chicago Medical Center said it was due to my dependency on the two week lenses the doctor at Rosin forced me into. I wanted to continue wearing the four week lenses that I have always used, and I have since learned that the four week lenses allow more oxygen to the eye. Apparently the two week lenses the doctor recommended are linked to corneal ulcers. Because the doctor at Rosin refused to write a prescription for the four weeks, I now have thousands of dollars of medical bills and permanent scaring in my right eye. The doctor was worried that the four week lenses cause eye infections. I had never had an eye infection before, and based on the doctors rude and condescending behavior, I really believe the doctor was simply on a power trip. She was rude to me from the moment I walked in and sat down. Aside from treating patients with basic respect, if something has been working for a patient, the doctor should support the patients decision--especially if the question regards something as standard as a four week lens. I called two other eye doctors in town, and they dont have a problem letting patients buy a couple boxes of two weeks and a couple boxes of the four weeks. This seems pretty standard, and I dont know why the doctor at Rosin was against it. After I developed the ulcer, I called management at Rosin twice but received no return call. If I put a whole in someones eye, I would care enough to call and see how they turned out or at least call them back to learn about the problem. Rosin is a thoughtless enterprise. One last problem--they didnt send me a PDF of my prescription by e-mail, as I asked. I had to physically stop in after my ulcer developed. I had to refuse to leave the office until they printed my prescription. This was after two calls as well as e-mails asking for the PDF copy. Aside from ruining peoples eyes, Rosin selects for rude, high maintenance doctors and disorganized staff.

I came in for an "emergency" appointment minutes before the office closed for the day. Dr. Ross was actually packing up when I arrived. The wind had blown some debris in my eye, and it was badly scratched, causing extreme discomfort (I could barely keep my eye open). I offered to come back the next day, but Dr. Ross kindly encouraged me to stay. He dealt with my issue very efficiently while still maintaining excellent "bedside manners." He and the rest of the staff showed empathy and thoroughness in their care. This was my first visit to Rosin eye care since I do not have a local eye doctor. After this experience, I intend to return to this office for future, routine eye exams, etc. Thank you for your excellent level of service!

I love getting my sons and my eyes examined at Rosin Eyecare in Hyde Park. Theres plenty of parking in the lot and the surrounding shops are always fun, in addition to the fact that there is live jazz playing in the courtyard in front. Professionally, the staff are very nice and the practitioners or optometrist are knowledgeable and patient and explain what they are doing. If they find any abnormality you are referred to a specialist or ophthalmologist who can further look into your situation. I give Rosin Eyecare Hyde Park 5 starts.

Shortest, poorest excuse for an eye exam I have ever experienced. The examination took only 5 minutes and did not cover all of the steps that optometrists normally do. My contacts prescription was clearly wrong and gave me headaches. When I went back for a follow-up appointment, the Rosin optometrist just deferred to the prescription I had received from my previous optometrist. Customer service is also very poor. The manager was rude and refused to be accommodating.

The Rosin Hyde Park location is a nice place to go for eyecare and eye wear. Dr. Smith is professional and pleasant. She was very patient with me in trying to get a specialize contact lens fitted. She encouraged me to hang in there and give it a try when I wanted to give up. I would recommend this location to anyone who needs a eye doctor and glasses or contact. The other staff is also very nice and professional.

I have a very difficult eyes since birth , and I like that the doctor took her time with me. I will look forward to using the doctors services again for my next appointment, in a couple of years. The only think lacking is the the frame selection for some one with a big head like mine that was a disappointment.

The exam was not as thorough as the one my 10yr old had @lens crafters. Also, when I came to pickup my glasses, no one offered to see if the frames fit or if I could see out the eyeglasses. About three weeks later I had to return to Rosin because I could not see nor use the expensive eyewear I was prescribed.

Rosin Eyecare in Hyde Park is great. It was easy to get an appointment and I was seen ontime. Everyone who works there is professional and pleasant. And, they have a great selection of frames at a variety of price points. Ill definitely be a return customer!

Im very disappointed. I scheduled an appointment two weeks ago, which was rather tricky as they are very busy. I got a phone call today cancelling that appointment; another appointment is not available for two weeks. Its frustrating to not be able to get in.

Very friendly and courteous staff. The two doctors I have worked with are professional. They answer all of my questions and clearly explain the issues they observe. Rosin has a nice selection of frames and satisfactory turn around time. I highly recommend.

My experience at the Rush location Rosin Eye care was excellent. The staff is kind and understanding. The only request would be to have more eye glass frame selections. Other than that its a fantastic company!

Honestly, I was a bit hesitant to get my eyes checked here after reading all the poor reviews. However, I had a great experience. The customer service was great and I found the doctor to be very thorough.

They did a great job listening to what I wanted and offering advice as appropriate. And my glasses came out great (I have a strong prescription, so this is fairly amazing), Im really happy with them.

Over the phone, they refused to schedule a Kindergarten eye screening, as they can only evaluate individuals who know numbers and letters. Isnt this a professional licensing issue?
