Now Im not one to give poor reviews because I understand whats its like, HOWEVER, this place was NOT one of my favorites. When I arrived there at 11:15pm there was a total of 8 people awaiting attention. I approached the woman at the desk very kind woman and told her what was going on, she placed the band on my arm and informed me that someone from triage would be to see me. I grab a sit and proceeded to wait as patiently as my issue had allowed me. At about 12:47am I was finally seen. He then after giving me some Tylenol, told me to wait again in the waiting area for a doctor or nurse. I went back and sat down and waited patiently...many people had come and gone until it was myself and another man sitting there. At this time its 5 minutes to 2 in the morning!!! I asked the woman and security guy were they short of staff because it had been taking so long, she said no its just sort of busy. So I sat back down and gave them the benefit of the doubt, I checked my phone the time had said 2:30!! I grabbed my things and left. I was in pain and could hardly see...but I couldnt stand being there another moment. I was highly upset and disappointed. Please do better I hAte to drive to south suburban hospital when you guys are up the street.

The birth of my first child in 2006 was absolutely amazing!!! My Ob/Gyn delivered her and did an excellent job! The nurses and staff were amazing!! Birth of my second child in 2010 was terrible by the delivering doctor and excellent with the nurses. I wasnt supposed to deliver at st. James with my second... However, I went into labor while visiting my mom and it was moving very fast!!! St. James is by moms house and she had to rush me to the nearest hospital. The doctor that delivered my son was so incredibly rude!!! No sympathy whatsoever. She also lost 2 gauges that she could not find and they were trying to make sure it was not left inside of me. I was sitting with my legs wide open for over an hour while they tried to find the missing gauges. BRUTAL!!!! I had to beg for a squirt of warm water on my private while pushing out my son... I ripped from the inside out... My first delivery my Doctor cut me when she saw that I was about to tear... Getting cut and tearing are sooooooooo different!! Unless Im seeing my regular OB/GYN during my entire pregnancy.. I would never go to this hospital again for anything!! First time around EXCELLENt!!! Second time Around... Terrible!!! Doctor terrible- nurses were great

I must say I had the most wonderful experience at St James hospital in Chicago Heights, I absolutely appreciate each and every staff from the emergency desk as well as security all the way to the delivery and labor floor.Everyone was so nice,pleasant and knowledgeable of their position, they made sure I was comfortable,happy,and relaxed they always checked on me as well as asked if I needed anything or if I had any questions in which I did and they were more than happy to explain all of them with no problem . Im so happy I had my son there even my visitors was impressed and left happy. My doctor was Dr Katrina Lake and she was absolutely amazing and I want to thank each and every staff I experienced with while I was there thank you and I appreciate all of you.

Nurse was very rude in Emergency Department. I have been throwing for the past two days. But I asked her to get some water so I can pee then she says no cause if youre nauseous that can make you throw up. But I havent ate in two days and I was starving so I told my boyfriend to bring a sandwich cause Im starving havent even been able to go to the bathroom cause nothing is on my stomach. Then they discharged me saying I dont listen.... and I shouldnt be eating I should drink liquids and stay hydrated. THEN WHY YOU COULDNT GIVE ME ANY WATER THEN!!! That didnt make any sense to me. How you want me to stay hydrated but... you couldnt even give me any water to drink... which is it nurse ?!!!

I had a surgery there a little over 2 years ago. I never wrote a review but Im writing one now. From the nurse who wheeled me into the operating room to the prep nurse, the surgical nurse, all the way through the doctor who performed my surgery, I was never treated so well. And my surgery was a success. I had heard some stories that St. James wasnt such a good hospital so when I found out my surgery was going to be there, I was very skeptical. I must say, I was proved wrong. So glad this hospital was there and sad to see thats its closing.

I had the worst experience I can think of, in a long time with going to their ER this past Sunday. I will not post my reason for going but I will say that the staff was very rude and unprofessional. I was also given inaccurate information on my test results and prior to that time, I was left unattended in the hospital room for an hour and a half waiting for a nurse or doctor to follow up with me. It was really a bad experience so if I can help it, I certainly will not ever be going back there for medical attention again.

We came in and say down. My family and I were here for half an hour. We asked the lady how long she had been there, she told us she was there since 1:30 pm. She finally got called at 6:20. You should not have to wait 5 hours and 30 minutes to see a doctor!!! As soon as we heard that we left. We went to a new hospital and are there for maybe 15 minutes, and they had more people in the waiting room!!! They need to have more doctors or more rooms. It was ridiculous and we will not be going back.

Went to get an ultrasound. Rudly told by ultrasound tech -Jody- that I was supposed to call an extension when I got here otherwise "I would be waiting forever" and rolled her eyes almost in disgust with me. She acted like I knew to call the extension on this piece of paper pointing to it and the phone. Threw my ultrasound order on the counter and rolled her eyes once more. Felt as though she would wanted to do anything else then to help me with my appointment. Will never be returning.

if it was not for this hospital I would have had to go to hazel crest or olypia fields with appendicitis . The staff are busy people, they did everything in a timely matter considering it is the only hospital nearby. It is in a terrible neighborhood but I have met some amazing surgeons, doctors, nurses, and helpers of all sorts. I was into the e.r. had surgery and well enough to be released in 23 hours. Its been 2 weeks today since being released and I am feeling quite good.

I Believe That This Hospital Isnt Good For Anything Except Childbirth. The ER Is Very Slow Sometimes. I Took My Son There A Few Days Ago Because He HAd An Asthma Attack And Left Within 1 Hour They Didnt Check Anything On Him Barely They Were Nice Dont Get Me Wrong BUt 2 Days After I Took Him To The Doctor And They Told Me He Had A Ear Infection WHY WASNT I NOTIFIED OF THIS IF HE HAD JUST CAME FROM THE ER. St.JAmes Childbirth Unit IS The BEST. THEY ARE GREAT!
