When someone has been sick for a long time, especially when they dont know why, it tends to wear them down. So, what you need in such a situation is a doctor thats positive but realistic. You need someone who is going to tell you the truth, but that will say theyre going to do the best they can to figure out what is going on and then fix it. Lori Jackson is the exact opposite of all this. She was completely pessimistic about my condition, telling me that more than likely it was just something that I would have to live with for the rest of my life and there was nothing that she could do. She didnt bother to even do any research on the symptoms I told her about but gave up after the first visit, where she diagnosed me wrong and gave me medication that made me so much sicker that I missed work for a month. After I told her about the research I had done myself she immediately dismissed it, only to later recall what I had told her when she was doing a physical examination and she realized that it may be one of the things she had dismissed. Then, afterwards, there was a problem that was their fault and I had to have them correct twice; she and her nurse were extremely rude about the fact that I wanted them to correct the information, which they had never double-checked with me and wasnt even just incorrect but was completely nonsensical. I actually heard her tell the nurse out in the hall, in a very snappish tone, that this was the last time that she was going to correct the information. On top of that, the note that I did finally get actually had the gall to say that I was getting better, even though I obviously wasnt; at that point I just wanted out of there, so I left. I have not been back to her, nor do I ever plan to.

In a nutshell, I ended up in ER with a UTI, out of my mind in pain and hysterical. Dr. Jackson refused to give me the antibiotic I told her worked for me. And, even though my urine test came back some what positive (what does that mean?), she wanted to send it out for further tests. I left with nothing and later on the pain increased and I called and the nurse got on the phone and said that Dr. Jackson had authorized an antibiotic that I explained had not worked for me in the past. One thing about me - I am a classical homeopath - I spent 4 years in homeopathic college and the last thing I want to take is an antibiotic unless absolutely necessary. The next day, as the burning and pain were worsening, I went and got the antibiotic that had been authorized for me. Nothing. Later that evening the pain became so bad, I called the on-call doc who advised me to get to the ER asap as it sounded like I needed intravenous antibiotics. I was frantic with pain and had to be put in a wheelchair. The ER doc said within minutes that my urine showed an infection and asked me if this happened before. I responded yes and he asked what had worked. I told him cipro and he said that my symptoms were so common that the antibiotic could have easily been prescribed over the phone by my doctor. I now have an $800 bill, not to mention the one coming from her and the urine test in her office, for what could have been taken care of, with a phone call, and cost me next to nothing.

Dr. Jackson has been our familys doctor (for my self, my husband, and our son) for almost six years now--since our son was born. She is kind, patient and available whenever weve needed her. We appreciate her practical approach and the fact that she knows all 3 of us so well is such a bonus. I had a family practice doctor as a child, and really appreciate Dr. Jacksons being ours now as I have my own family.

I have been to several doctors and had almost given up on finding someone who is kind, prompt, down-to-earth, and willing to listen to all my questions and concerns regarding my health. Dr. Jackson is a a great doctor, not to mention a pretty fantastic woman in general! My co-worker suggested that I see Dr. Jackson... I am SO glad that I took the advice!
