Thoracic Outlet Syndrome is a condition that most doctors miss and most physical therapists dont know how to treat. Whats really happening is that your blood supply and nerves are compressed (similar to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) except it is between your rib cage and collar bone which causes a lot of pain, weakness and limited circulation in your hands and arms. You get stuck in a straight jacket and loose your normal range of motion. I couldnt even breathe normally because half my rib cage was stuck. I had previous physical therapy elsewhere that helped a little, but I didnt really make progress until I started seeing Dr. Mitchell for therapy. She is a specialist in myofascial release which is how you get the tissue moving again. Dr. Mitchell gives me an hour of hands on "one on one" manual therapy which I couldnt get at other clinics. What Ive experienced elswhere is a limited manual therapy time for about a half hour in a room full of many patients with my therapist being distracted by monitoring other patients at the same time. Then Im released to do excercises on my own. At Red Rock Physical Therapy & Wellness, I am treated in a private room one on one with Dr. Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell shows me how to stretch and encourages me to stretch at home to speed my recovery. Im getting a lot more for my healthcare dollars and making a lot more improvement. Myofascial Release Therapy is in my opinion the best therapy there is. It is like peeling back the layers on an onion to reveal whats underneath. The fascia is that filmy transparent stuff that holds all your bodys tissues together. For a long time, my muscles were "glued" to each other and I couldnt move normally. Now we are getting to where she can distinguish my separate muscle groups. I do my homework so I can maintain my progress. There is so much a therapist of this caliber can do for a patient which can help the patient avoid surgery. My doctor advised against surgery which causes scar tissue and only has a 60% success rate in favor of manual therapy with Myofascial Release. I find Dr. Mitchell to be very professional and pleasant to work with. She truly has the knowledge and compassion to achieve positive results. This type of treatment is teamwork between the patient and therapist. I help her with feedback on what Im feeling physically while shes working on me. My case is one that is tough to solve, but Im making great progress. I would highly recommend this doctor. She is easy to talk to and available and will give you an honest assessment.

I highly recommend Dr. Deborah Mitchell for physical therapy. Ive been treated for the same, complex back condition by other physical therapists, but I have made the most amount of progress with Deborah. Before I saw her, I was in constant pain, couldnt walk without a profound limp and had very little mobility. Deborahs traditional physical therapy training combined with her manual, myofascial release techniques have reduced my pain, has gotten rid of my limp and increased my mobility. From strains, surgery rehab to complex, chronic conditions, I would recommend Dr. Deborah Mitchell to anyone.
