Im really disillusioned with Banfield. I have a rescue Chiweenie dog of about 2 1/2 years now and have always taken her to Banfield. Each time I have come there, I have had a different vet, or at least three times. When I first got my dog, she suffered from Seperation Anxiety really bad and was very destructive. I tried the all the sprays and items over the counter to help with the situation, to no avail. Finally, the vet suggested I put her on PROZAC (Yes, human Prozac, adult strength). Worked like a charm...amazing results! I have had all of her vet needs taken care of here....or at least I thought that was the case. After, a while I started feeling a little guilty for having my dog on such a strong dose. Weaned her almost off the medication, but some of her anxiety returned. She will NOT take pills, even wrapped in food items or Pill Pockets. So I opened the capsule and would mix with her food. When I expressed my concern over the high dosage, I ended up using just the powder from the capsule for three different meals/days. The vet ran some blood work to make sure the Prozac wasnt causing any other internal problems...fortunately her blood work came back just fine and now I dont feel so guilty giving her the Prozac over a period of three days and she is doing just wonderful! But my main issue for this review is to find out that I have taken her there for her shots and come to find out, they have only given her the 3 yr rabies injection, no distemper or bordetella injections. If you take ur dog in for vaccinations, I would think they would do all of the routine injections. So all this time, Im thinking my dog has had ALL of her vaccinations, come to find out she hasnt and now it will cost me approximately another $135 or more for another Office visit and to have the injections done. That is what really bugs me. Hey, Im on a fixed income, it hurts! Please just be aware of services needed and getting them at the same time, so you dont end up spending more out of pocketI

Worst customer service and dont feel good about taking my dogs there at all. The prices are incredibly high and you have to listen to sales pitches for a variety of insurance plans and they always reccomend a variety of unnecessary products. They are about sales, not pet health and care. There are so many employees handling each dog and no communication between them. I got a call and had contact with multiple techs and the vet. Each time, there was a conflicting story regarding the health of my dogs. The vet told me one dog was perfectly healthy. Then the tech came out with $50 worth of antibiotics for her, which made no sense. Also, I filled out the drop off form indicating the services they needed. They were sent home without the heartworm preventative requested even though I had it clearly marked on the form that I needed it. I had also discussed it specifically with the front desk. After calling to let them know I didnt receive the preventative, they told me it was their mistake and to come pick it up. Once there, they told me it was not paid for. Not expecting to pay for it, I had not brought any money and had to return home, still without the heartworm meds. I called the vet directly to express my concerns about my experiences and she continuoisly cut me off and would not discuss my concerns. I did not call her with any hostility or wiexpectation of getting anything free and told her that right from the beginning. Yet she had no concern for the incredibly poor service and frustration I had experienced at this Banfield.

Hi!! My name is Bronx!!! I am a pitbull-boxer and I am now a patient of Banfield Pet Hospital. I came to the clinic because I was hit by a car. I was rescued in the street and was treated just like all the others even thou I was homeless. The vet and techs were so kind to me. I had an xray and showed my leg was out of socket. They worked on me for a good hour. They were all exhausted by the end of the night, but we all knew I was on the right road to recovery. I am now no longer homeless and my rescuer has adopted me. High Five and Paws Up for Banfield and my vet Dr G, Dr Haak and her hard working staff. Bronx rescue Mom review: I have had only good experiences at Banfield. I have several pets of my own and 2 are on the Wellness Plan. The staff are friendly and greet me and my pet by name. They were very accommodating to my cat that was in kidney failure and I was able to spend time with him before he passed. The vets on staff are top notch and are up to date with all the current treatment and medicine. I feel comfortable talking to them and they make it easy for me to understand. Being on the Wellness Plan has saved me money and I feel good knowing my pets are getting the best care. I drive an hour to this pet hospital because I know my pets are in great hands Nancy C

Took my wifes older dog there, they said everything look fine and all they found was a fatty tumor, they sent it off to get checked, came back as ok, suggested getting it removed immediately. Four days later, her dog woke up and couldnt use his back legs, they told us at 1130 it wouldnt be till 430 that they could get him in, took him to a emergency vet and they were able to find through palpitation that he had several very enlarged areas that they were concerned with, x-rays showed his bladder was way oversized and so was his spleen, they were able to determine that he had cancer in his spleen and that was causing all of the other issues. Not that it would have saved him, as he had to be put down due to it was so far along, they sure milked us out of almost $300 for NOTHING!!! They were very nice but the vet herself even said he was just fine, the emergency vet said there was no way they wouldnt have felt the masses if they had done palpitations. It had been there more then long enough they should have felt them then, would have been the same outcome, but I wouldnt have paid them money they didnt need.. VERY dissatisfied with them, very poor skills if they missed something this vet found within minutes. If you want good care for your animal, Id go somewhere else.

Hi my name is Asherah I was adopted from petsmart Jan 10 and my new mom thought I was healthy for a 3 year old but I had some problems. She took me to the banfield because I started ripping my fur out. She found out I have flea allergy dermatitis. I also had ear mites and a yeast infection in my ears on top of all that she wanted my teeth to get cleaned. Dr. Grace found a bad tooth it was a pre molar and told my mom she told them to extract it cause it was hurting me. I now play hours on end went on a trip from indiana through Kentucky and Tennessean to South Carolina to meet my daddy for the first time then up to virginia and back home. Hes in the army so it was fun. Thanks to banfield I could go on that trip and thanks to petsmart I found my travel for a few years forever home. Meows purrrs
