If youre an elderly patient, who wants doctor who will take the time, for which you pay your doctor quite well, to listen to and address your questions and concerns, who will listen to you about your own needs, (after all youve lived in your body a long time, who would know better?), then DONT go to Dr. Shellman. If you question him at all with your own perspective or concern, he will ask you "who is the doctor?" If you want to pay a doc well for his arrogance then he is the one. Insist that your concern be taken into consideration and he will tell you that you need a psychologist. He did all that to my 91 year old grandmother today. Mamaw is not senile in any way, and the suggestion that she needed a psychologist for being insistent left her feeling like a bad child. Mamaw and Papaw are retired farmers, so they are self-pay. I cant believe how well he got paid for that scam of doctors appointment. His last words to her were, "Im done with you, from now on youll be seeing Dr. So-and-So." She paid very good money to be so upset. Shame on him. Shame on Major General for having this doc on their staff. Hopefully I can post this giving zero stars, but it might make me give him at least one. Wow, it is making me give him one, thats one more than hes earned.

My grandfather went in for routine hip surgery at Major Hospital. Major has been WONDERFUL... but the pulmonologist they referred my grandpa to is a quack. He told my very fit and healthy grandpa that he had shortness of breath. My grandpa does not exert himself and has worked since he was seven years old- he knows his limits and he knows how to manage his time as to not exert himself. When he told this doctor that he doesnt have trouble breathing, the man said, "I am the doctor, you are the carpenter." !!! To my God-fearing, sweet grandpa! He then prescribed $600+ in prescriptions to my grandpa (and my grandpa had them filled before talking to me because he believed that if he didnt he wouldnt be able to get his much-needed hip surgery) that he doesnt need. During my grandpas surgery, I was discussing this incident with a family member in the waiting room and a man chimed in, "Youre not talking about Dr. Shellman, are you?" It turns out, he did the same thing to him. Please dont go to this man. Major Hospital has been excellent in my grandpas care, but Dr. Shellman is a bully and an intimidator and I would hate to know he has done this to many more people.

Da hat man kaum Wartezeit , aber man wird leider auch gerne mit nem Pferd verglichen ... in der Schwangerschaft habe ich mich bei ihr so gar nicht gut aufgehoben gefühlt... auf Übergewicht reitet sie intensiv rum ... und bei der Untersuchung muss man hart im nehmen sein. Fließband Abfertigung!

What a breath of fresh air to have a doctor tell you exactly what you need to do to be healthy, and the risks associated with not changing behaviors like smoking and eating habits, and then leave it up to you regarding whether or not you want to follow his advice on how to live longer. If you dont want to hear the truth, then you should probably look elsewhere.

Dr.Robert Shellman is an awesome doctor in my opinion! He has helped me considerably just in the 1st appointment with him. I am looking forward in seeing what other methods & treatments he will prescribe to help me breath better with my Asthma & C.O.P.D. Love his bedside manner as well. He is funny, yet very professional as well.....
