Dr. Jason Pingel is one of the best and brightest optometrists in Kansas City area and he the new sole owner and doctor of Mission Eye Care. We are proud to endorse him as he embarks on his new private practice venture Mission Eye Care. We have known and worked closely with Dr. Pingel and have co-managed surgical LASIK and Cataract patients with him successfully for many years. We have referred many of our surgical patients to Dr. Pingel for their glasses and contact lens examinations and services. He also specializes in "hard-to-fit" contact lenses for patients with irregular corneas, severe astigmatism, keratoconus, and those that want bifocal contact lenses. Dr. Pingels professionalism, old-fashioned caring nature, and high-tech practice, is exactly what the doctor ordered in todays impersonal and "bigger is better" corporate medical world. Ive loved this place from Day 1. I had a terrible eye infection, shortly after I moved to town, and was referred to a fast-paced, dollar-driven megaplex of optometrists out south. They were effective, and kept me from losing my sight, though may have been due to poor prescribing and luck more than quality of care. Returning to a regular optometrist was scary in the big city; Ive loved every visit Ive had to Mission Eye Care (since it was still Honson & Honson). The support staff is comprised of wonderful, caring people who even remember you outside the office, on the off-chance your paths cross. Ive seen Dr. Honson and Dr. Regier (who is apparently no longer on staff) but Im confident that they bring in effective, caring doctors who Im glad to see. They also have a fantastic selection of frames, even to fit my awkwardly tiny head! OGI frames come in multiple sizes, and are terribly trendy as well. I have high standards for my glasses, and their selection is tops!

Really friendly staff and doctors. Ive visited twice wanting a contact exam and were currently trying to find a brand that works well with my dry eyes, each time Ive been in its been a pleasant experience both times and I have high hopes Ill be able to find a great brand that works well for me with Mission Eyecares help! It also looked like they had an excellent selection of eye glasses if you prefer those. I also really liked the retinal photography machine that they had vs eye dilation, it was really interesting getting to see what my retina and the doctor did a great job explaining what each structure was and what sort of shape mine were in. The eye pressure machine is also much nicer than other places Ive been to with the puff of air, here they use a small machine that sends a little stick towards your eye that you can barely feel, much better than the air puff in my opinion!

My husband came purchased his glasses here and the leg kept breaking off. I was a hassel trying to get them fixed due to our work hours is 8-5 like their hours of operation. On saturdays they are open 9-1 or so they claim because there have been two saturdays that I go during open times and they are closed. after the 5th time of the glasses breaking they finally replaced them with another pair. I had also bought my sons glasses here and so far his leg for the glasses broke off as well. I cant rate the eye doctors for I have recieved perscription from somewhere else but the quality of frames here are HORRIBLE. I also need glasses and im going to Discover Vision Center instead and moving my husband and son with me when they need to renew.

Dr. Pingel has state of the art equipment and spends the necessary time to perform a thorough eye exam and answer any questions. His staff is friend and knowledgeable. Dr. Pingel is great!! I have high astigmatism that keeps me from using "off-the-shelf" contact lenses. Dr. Pingel has worked with me to find the perfect solution for my difficult-to-fit eyes, and is always cheery and helpful. Ive never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen, and the front desk staff is among the friendliest with which I have ever worked. If you are even remotely close by, do not think twice about choosing your eye doctor. This is THE place to go.

Just called in to make an appointment with Dr. Regier. Was informed they let her go. If you know her new office please post and inform. The owners are never there and are planning on having 3-4 doctors available. This means only certain days can I make a follow-up appointment with the same Doc that saw me the first time. Very disappointed to lose a Doc I trusted and enjoyed coming in to see. Please help!

I located Mission EyeCare through my insurance company. The facility is incredibly nice and I was able to get an early appointment so that I didnt miss too much time at work. The staff were very nice (Sarah and Megan) and Dr. Pingel was great. The location is very close to my home and I will be going back there. I would highly recommend Mission EyeCare!

The care, friendliness, and efficiency of Dr. Pingel and the rest of the staff was outstanding. There was a thorough exam with a reasuring diagnosis of the symptoms I was experiencing. For someone like me who is new to getting her eyes checked, I wasnt familiar with all of the tests, but the Mission Eye Care staff and Dr. Pingle were thorough in their explanation as to why they were conducting the tests and what I should expect...that was greatly appreciated. Been a returning patient for many years. Dr Pingel is always courteous, eager to help and knowledgeable. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. For eye exams they have the light imaging machine as an option to eye dilation which is a nice alternative to the post visit effects of dilation.
