I first went to Ahrens June of 2014 and they quickly took X-rays, pictures, impressions and told us how long and how much my treatment would be. They were faster, more efficiant and cheeper than their competitors. The dental problems I had were a few but serious, they always gave us several referrals to choose from and I always had great experiences with the ones I chose . The staff quickly gets to know their patients and cases, always wanting to know how youre doing and excited to see youre dental progress. From early on I was always greeted by the incredibly sweet staff in a happy tone on a first name basis. I always truly felt like they were glad to see me, making my appointments all the more enjoyable. Ahrens doesnt have that factory made, its all about the money, business vibe where you are kept waiting for long periods of time and talked about by case numbers. Its easy to tell they care more about the work they do for the kids that see them every day. While most kids and teenagers hate the rubber bands, chains and wires they have to wear, the staffs positive attitude helps them see the bright side of it all, how its not scary or embarrassing but rather a further step towards progress and the amazing end result. Ahrens was always honest about my progress and what I needed to have done, including jaw surgery which sounds scary but couldnt have been more worth it. They didnt let any fear build up over surgery only excitement, I was wished good luck and given lots of hugs the appointment before my surgery. Even after surgery he was honest about the few months after and leading up to when i would get my braces off. He simply said ill take them off next appointment or the one after, they never took the easy way out to end treatment as quick as possible but rather getting the job done right the first time around. There was no "oh ill take them off next visit" every time you see them. They always made it easy to set appointments working around my schedule, and time preferences. I couldnt have been happier with my end result after a little over 2 years! Ive been able to get to know the staff, and beyond glad to have such wonderful people play a big role in this part of my life.

I spent 18 months at Ahrens Orthodontics. Sometimes every six weeks, other times every 4 weeks. Each time I had an appointment I was greeted with a smile. The staff knew my name and made me feel at home. The office itself is not one of those sterile types. It’s warm, friendly, comfortable, has coffee, free Wi-Fi, and even a game room with arcade games. The rooms are a nice size with a comfortable chair and windows. The décor in the office is beautiful paintings with an orthodontic theme. They were painted by Dr. Douglas Ahrens wife. The visits were painless, at least they were for me because everyone has a gentle touch. I was never pinched, poked, nor once did I feel uncomfortable while I was in the chair. Even after getting a new arch wire, or elastics, I always felt great leaving because I knew the entire staff was working hard to make sure my smile was going to be perfect! Scheduling was a breeze and they print out cute reminders so you won’t forget your appointment. They just implemented a text reminder service also which is very helpful. If you are looking for an orthodontist in the Louisville and Crestwood area, please look no further. Both Dr. Douglas Ahrens and Dr. Gerry Ahrens are the best, not to mention the friendliest staff in a doctor’s office I’ve ever encountered! I miss them all dearly!

After years of crowded teeth and a crooked smile, I decided as an adult that I needed braces. I met with Dr. Ahrens, his staff explained everything to me from the procedural and financial end, and I gladly became his patient. The entire experience was as pleasant as possible (given the nature of wearing braces), and I have Dr. Ahrens and his staff to thank. I paid for everything out of pocket, and they worked with me to make it fit in my familys budget. Best of all, its been several years since I completed my care, and I regularly get compliments on my teeth (during the photographs for my friends wedding, the photographer even referred to me as "the groomsman with the great teeth"). I cant recommend this practice highly enough.

I dont normally write reviews, and Im someone who is hard to please with goods/services, so it takes a high bar of excellence to prompt me to write a Google review. Simply put, this is the most satisfied Ive ever been with a local business. My wife met with Dr. Gerry about 9 months ago and began her Invisalign treatment. Since then, progress has been fast and the friendly office staff could not have been more accommodating. They work with our busy schedules, and appointments never last longer than 30 minutes. In fact, I dont think shes ever actually had to sit down in the waiting room! Theyre that efficient! I highly recommend Ahrens Orthodontics to ALL of my friends and family.

Being an adult, I was nervous and apprehensive about receiving treatment at this point of my life to gain the smile I always dreamed of having. Dr. Gerry not only eased these concerns, but both him and his staff surpassed my expectations from start to finish regarding the process itself and the results I received! Dr. Ahrens, both father & son are Wonderful!! Their team is very friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. I truly dont think my son would have had a better experience at any other orthodontist office. Not too many people like their teeth messed with but my son did not mind his visits at all.
