The staff if nice, but I called for an emergency appointment. I was told that they do them in the am between 9-11:00, and in the pm between 2-4:00. I came in at 2:20 pm. Waited in the waiting area for 2 hrs. I asked the lady at the front desk if I could make an appointment, and come in on that day since the wait was so long. I was told an appointment cant be made because for what my child needs to be seen for would be an emergency appointment regardless. I sat back down, and waited another 20 or more mins to finally be called in the back. My child and I was put in a room to only be waiting another hour. When a doc finally came in the room to check my son out we were told that we have to make an appointment, and come back on that day to get the work done on his chipped tooth, because they were short staffed. This is what I asked for at the front desk after waiting 2 hours. We did not get out of their until 5:40 pm. 3 hrs and 20 mins in the office, and nothing had been done. A waste of time.... Even when my children do have a schedule we are waiting over an hour to get seen. They need to practice better time management. I will say that most of the staff is friendly though and for that I give them a 2 star rating.

I love the atmosphere for the children, Kool smiles is very kid friendly. With that being said, some of the hygienist could use a bit more training on how to act and speak in a professional setting. There was a dental assistant who is heavyset with glasses and tall who lied and said I struck my child. I was walking my three year old who is scared of the toilet flushing to the bathroom, she was crying of course because she didnt want to go, the heavyset assistant loudly states to a customer that I struck my child which I did not do. She is very unprofessional in my opinion and because of this, after my children receive their treatment I will not be returning to this office. Its sad because I have been attending this office for over 5 years and I am moving out of the area and I considered traveling to this office out of my way. That will NOT BE HAPPENING. After making a complaint to the office manager I was stared at by the assistant and one of the other hygienist while they whispered as an intimidation tactic in my opinion, I smh and laughed because it didnt and NEVER would have worked and these are supposed to be adults. Other than that the service is perfect for the most part.

I will not be revisiting this Kool Smiles location, no matter the time of day or the appointment time, the wait time is always between a hour and a half. I have to literally dedicate my entire day for my childs dental appointment and thats outrageous. If I have an appointment at 9:00 am, I still should not have to wait in the waiting area to be seen until 10:45-11:00 am. You are better off signing into your appointment and going back home and taking a nap, then later returning to your appointment. I have tried early morning appointments as well as later in the day, the scheduling coordinator needs to be re-trained or just stop double booking appointment. The dentist staff are always pleasant I will say that, I have never had a crappy hygienist, my kids are pretty terrified of the dentist visits so I have had a great experience so far. If you dont mind waiting LONG times for your scheduled appointment then go HERE.

HORRIBLE!!!! This was my first visit here and I am never going back. As soon as I walked in I can immediately sense the disorganization and lack of customer service. There was not a greeting no direction for customers. A sign was posted only to sign in if there for braces. Well that was wrong. The front desk staff lost a form filled out early in the morning around 0830 by the time of my check in around 2 pm they lost the form. Blamed it on the person who filled it out. Blatantly lied and said I was not given the form did the person take it. Come to find out he was the one who gave the form and took it back. This shows negligence on their part. The front desk staff found the form. But he did not receive the form earlier that day. If the front desk is any indication of how this dentist office is

From the time you walk in the door youre greeted with a friendly hello how are you. The true experience begins when Dr. Lyons enters the room, the most kind, professional and attentive dentist Ive had the pleasure of meeting. My niece is very nervous during her dental visits, in fact, shes been put out of three dental offices prior to Kool Smiles. Not the case with Dr. Lyons, shes still nervous, but Dr. Lyons walks her through every step letting her know exactly what shes doing and preparing her for the time when potential pain my come. My niece makes it a point to ask if we can check to see if Dr. Lyons will be in when we schedule all dental appointments. Thanks Dr. Lyons youre the best and my family very much appreciate all you do.

I had wonderful experiences here at Kool Smiles. They have a playground for your child to play while you wait in the waiting room to be called, which is wonderful my daughter loves it. The wait time is very short which is always a plus. Today I visited and we were in and out in 30minutes and my daughters teeth look absolutely beautiful. If you want a fun, short wait time, and great experience with great quality of teeth care, Kool Smiles here in District Heights is the place to be. Its easy to schedule appointments and reschedule as well. They really are here for you and your child. Thanks Kool Smiles! Plus your child gets a goodie bag after!

My experience with Kool Smiles is always a great one! The staff is always exceptionally friendly and they make sure to accurately and thoroughly inform me of the services being rendered. In addition to the excellent service they provide to my children, I really really love the way they help to inform me about the billing. The way it is broken down makes it so much easier to understand what my insurance plan covers vs what I am paying out of pocket. The District Heights location is A1 in my book and I look FORWARD to recommending more people to this location. Or maybe I should keep this loving staff to myself!!! :-)

I was not pleased with my last visit in March at Kool Smiles. First, there was a 45 minutes delay which was okay because I know things happen. I did not like the way the dental assistance handle my daughter. It was not her first time but she has not been there since she was 3 yrs old and she was a little reluncant to the cleaning and x-rays. They were not patient enough for me during our visit. I realize they might have seen a lot of patients that day but you always have to have patience with children like it is their first time. I will not visit this location again.
