I honestly have no idea how they have 5 stars! The only reason i even used this vet is because I adopted 2 kittens from the humane society and they did a free exam. My first impression was the dr was a little rude. He didnt even know why i was there. I came back because i had to give paperwork and had told them that one of the kittens was still vomiting. They prescribed me a medication and I went home and started my kitten on it hoping it would work. After just 2 doses of this medicine i knew there was a problem. My kitten almost died! Because they prescribed to high of a dose for a kitten that small. I had to go to the emergency vet and they couldnt believe what was going on. I stopped the medication and after a day he was back to himself. He has one little problem we are working on but hopefully we can fix that. Amy the tech acts more like the dr. She doesnt have good communication skills. Kind of rude herself. I was telling her what happened and she was pretty much telling me the dr that i seen was wrong. Unbelievable. I would not take my animals there ..esp if they are sick. If you want dead animals, then this is the place for you. Hole in the wall..back door vet!

Dr. Shrader and his staff at Canal Town Veterinary Clinic are most excellent to work with! I have had many pets and many vets over the last 45 years and Canal Town is at the top of the list. They are compassionate, understanding, intelligent, and take the time to educate their clients to enable them to give the best care to their pets. I highly recommend them!

By far one of the best vets I have ever used. Has taken care of our dog, cats and horse and came to us to see the horse. He was easily able to control our 100 pound excited lab and has a very easy time controlling animals. Dr Shrader was made for what he does and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
