This review is strictly about one employee. Her name is Justine. I foster for a rescue and I use this clinic strictly for spay/neuter, because they are pretty far from me - over an hour away. Otherwise, i would use them regularly, because the clinic itself and everyone else, expect for Justine, is wonderful. Every time I call and get Justine on a line, her ONLY response is "you need to contact your rescue". I just called to ask if I can talk to a vet to help me figure out whether my foster pup is in heat or not. She has been very hyper for about a week, then spotted only for one day, and Im confused. I have no experience with dogs in heat. Justine sounded like a broken record: you have to call your rescue contact person, you have to call your rescue contact person. I need a VET advise/opinion. My contact person is not a vet! I tried to tell Justine this and ask to speak to someone else, but she said there is no one else, even though their clinic is always fully stuffed and I could hear other staff member in the background. Im calling tomorrow to report this to her supervisor! Im so pissed! She is the only one who refuses to help. EVERY one else is super nice, and always ready to answer my questions.

The staff and doctors at Blue Ridge are fantastic. We rescued our Golden Retriever from GRREAT and he had been treated at Blue Ridge when he had originally been rescued. He had three surgeries while there, two for both back hips (the ball that attaches the femur to the hip was removed on both hips because of hip displaysia). He also had surgery on his front left paw, which has a steel plate in it for now. He was at Blue Ridge for months. Last weekend (weve had our golden 3 weeks) he was having some hip trouble and, although its a hour drive, Blue Ridge had no problem making an appointment for us on a Sunday (same day appointment). When we got there, all of the staff knew who he was and he was welcomed back, scratched, and given treats. The doctor checked him out, she was very open about his surgeries, etc. and answered all of our questions. We left with some pain meds, which we ended up only using for a day. The staff is also available for assistance via phone. Hes been having trouble adjusting to the new food we have him on and we call all of the time for tips and advice. I would drive 3 hours to take my dog to this vet. They are worth every mile and every gallon of gas. Thank you Blue Ridge!

After my dog indulged in a half full bottle of amphetamines I was terrified. I had never been to blue ridge vet before so I was worried they would not take her in or it would be a while before they got her back due to paper work. Regardless, I called and brought her in as fast as I could. When I arrived there was a vet technician waiting out front for our arrival. They brought her straight back and started treatment and allowed me to fill out the paper work while they administered proper treatment. The staff was so kind, friendly, compassionate and understanding while I was trying to keep it together. They kept her overnight and checked her heart rate every hour to monitor any changes. I called for updates every few hours hoping not to annoy the staff and they were more than happy to inform me on the status of my dog. When I picked Harper up this morning she was loving with the staff and I was so grateful for the care they provided to my dog. I am over the moon at how happy I am with the services and care provided by Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates.

Excellent service at a good price. Staff friendly and the Vets are good at explaining and answering any questions you have. Unlike our past vets, this vet practice does not try to upsell you. This vet is 40 minutes from where I live and there are plenty of practices closer, but I still go to Blue Ridge. They are well worth the travel time. They offer evening appointments with no extra charge. That makes it much easier to have our dogs looked at after the work day. Night appointments are available but there is a reasonable extra charge. While this practice is open 24 hours a day, their vets are not on duty 24 hours but can be called in to the office in case of an emergency. So if you have to take your pet to Blue Ridge for an emergency during the night, be sure to call the practice so they can call in a vet. All in all, very satisfied with the service this practice gives us.

My dog was ill and his primary vet was booked for the next 4 days so my wife and I decided to give Blue Ridge Vets a try as the person on the phone was very polite and they could see him that evening thanks to their long hours of operation. I must say Ive never been so happy to have been turned down by our usual vet (who, by the way, will no longer be our usual vet after this visit). Not only was everything great with the building itself (from the walk paths outside to the extremely large lobby and the clean and private exam room) but the staff was very polite and courteous, as well. Dr. Olech and her assistant, Anna, treated my wife and I with respect and were both very kind and knowledgeable. On top of all this, the price we paid was less than our regular vet charges! My dog is on the road to recovery thanks to this awesome clinic and they have a new customer for life.

Clients of BRVA for 10 years; the vet staff seem capable, but bedside manner varies tremendously depending on who you get. The convenience of 24/7 is great and weve boarded many times. You PAY A LOT for that convenience, whether or not you use it. The front desk staff is clearly trained to sell every possible vaccination and test to you, required or not, whenever you call to make an appointment. The cost of their services are well above average and their medications are OUTRAGEOUSLY inflated. If you ask for a paper RX rather than pay their prices, they charge you a fee to write the Rx! I paid $1/pill for what is considered a cheap maintenance medication until I could get a paper prescription; I paid 11 cents/pill online. We will likely continue to use their boarding, but it is time to find a new vet for our dogs medical treatment.

Wow! I own a kennel, and cannot tell you how knowledgeable and caring these folks at Blue Ridge Vet Assoc. are! A rescue organization referred us originally to them, so they are well known in the dog world. Im also a biologist, so ask a lot of questions (OK, I interrogate vets...), and they graciously put up with me. They gave us alternative treatments and choices, as well as referrals. Theyve got it together to help your dogs (in our case up to 20 dogs). We recently had to rescue a passel of dogs and one had to either have thousands of dollars of medical treatments or be euthanized...they helped us with kindness and thoughtfulness with the decision and worked with rescue groups to help us financially with the dogs we rescued. Thanks Blue Ridge Vets, you rock!
