Went to Animal Friends for my red fox, twice, and Im, one, extremely unhappy how poorly she handled treating my PET, and two, how immature she was about my owning of a fox. First time I went, my kit was very young, and when a kits young, they are very food aggressive, they have to be in order to survive between litter mates. This time on the vet trip, we got flee and tick medicine, dewormer and nutracal for him to gain weight. The moment he gets aggressive, which we told her happens and wanted ADVICE about the biting and geckering, sense she told me she worked with fox in zoo , she told me, " you know, this is what happens when people get fox, there wild animals and shouldnt..." Ect. OK, well, the first time wasnt too bad. The second time was terrible. She was practically man handling him. I knew he was going to bite her, he was ticked off. He niped her, and she freaked out, saying he punctured the skin. I was not impressed how she handled the situation at all. Vets used to handle our aggressive , ADULT boxers, which are 10 times bigger than the fox will ever be. No wounds on any vet. Then when she came back, she said, this is why people dont treat fox with this sour look on her face. Next, this poor assistant had to put dewormer in the fox mouth, ordered by the vet, and the fox snapped on the siringe while the vet had hold of him. the dewormer fell and I ended up giving it to him no problem at home, just open mouth and squirt in, he really liked it accually And when all of it was done, she didnt see us off, but told the Secretary to tell us to take him in AC car. She repeatedly said this until we did. The thing was, the building was air conditioned, why would I need to go to the car with him, we were fine there.l checking out. I was very confused, then I realized, she was pretty much telling us to get the hell out of her building. Im just saying, my opinion. Not a good vet at all, wouldnt take my cat there, and exotic owners, dont..

Favorite vet Ive come across thus far. Whole staff always greets my dog with open arms (they even have a cute nickname for him), all are very knowledgable, and Ive never had a negative experience. I would highly, highly recommend this place to anyone with an animal. The doctor is very honest and one thing I love is that she doesnt just push the latest medications on you for your animal, she waits a long time (a few years I;m talking) to make sure it is safe before offering anything new to the market, which makes me feel a whole lot better, as some vets just push the "latest and greatest" despite limited available research. If you need anything in between appointments (such as proof of immunization or something) they get on it right away. Ive never had to follow up with any request. She runs a great clinic and chose great staff. Another plus is when you walk in, the design was very thought out for dogs and humans alike and the paintings and wall colors make it feel like a positive place.

I brought my tortoise here for a questionable lump forming on her head (hoping it wasnt a tumor and it turned out to be and infection! Ive never been more happy to hear about puss) and immediately felt so welcome here. The staff is so friendly and Dr. Jones really and honestly seems to care about the animals. A staff member even came in early so I could drop off my tortoise before work! Im so pleased with this place I dont think Ill go anywhere else, its a 30min drive for me and its SO worth it. My tortoise went into surgery and is recovering well, they didnt charge me an arm and a leg for everything, and post surgery after care was just so painless. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their pet but is unsure of a vet. (And to the guy who gave one star with the fox, buddy, pal, its a wild animal (definition: not domesticated) and is illegal for you to own in Michigan. Be glad she didnt call animal control lmao)

Animal Friends is a wonderful place. The staff was very kind and polite, they were also really great with my three year old son that was with me. We had to bring in our guinea pig who was not doing very well but Dr. Jones was great, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. We took X-rays and she prescribed medications and I felt very taken care of. While they were taking the X-rays she was kind enough to bring some books and toys into the room so my son could play with them since she knew it was going to take a few mins to get X-rays. My guinea pig is improving and it is all thanks to Dr. Jones because she is very knowledgeable of all different types of animals. I would recommend her to anyone for any type of animal they have. You will not be disappointed

I helped my daughter-in-law (Katie) take her young adult cat and kitten to Dr. Jones for exams and vaccinations, etc. The clinic is clean and comfortable, in a great location, and the staff is super friendly. They are open until 7 p.m. two evenings which helps Katie a lot with her busy work schedule. Dr. Jones is SO nice, was very gentle with the cats (even though the adult cat was growling), and explained what the cats needed in a very clear manner. She respected Katies decision to not do everything that day which we really appreciated, and the charges were very reasonable. Katie had been to another vet that is closer to her home, but she really likes the clinic and will definitely drive the extra 10 minutes to take her cats back to see Dr. Jones. :)

One of our cats was having an emergency one morning and after calling different vets in the area, Animal Friends said theyd take a look at him that day. Now Dr. Jones has become our primary vet and sees our 3 cats and puppy. Everyone at Animal Friends from Laura at the front desk to Dr. Jones are very attentive, caring and professional. They are great at getting you in for a last minute appointment if theres an emergency and pricing is very fair. I tend to ask a lot of questions and like a lot of explanations and Dr Jones is very kind and patient when explaining whats going on with our pets. I highly recommend this vet. You will not be disappointed with the care your loving animals receive here!

Took a stray cat to this hospital for an exam, as he was in very bad shape. They got me in on very short notice. I cant say enough good things about the entire process. I was very happy with the staff. Dr. Burke and Dr. Jones are both fantastic. Very knowledgeable and personable. The assistants are very friendly too. Everyone there seems to have a genuine love for animals. Even though it is not the size of some of the larger animal hospitals in the area, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover such a nice animal hospital so close to home. Turns out, I am adopting this stray and hell be going to Animal Friends Vet Hospital from now on. Id definitely recommend this hospital to anyone.
