Ive had a similar experience to those below. Dr. Matossian seems to know what hes doing, though his personality takes some getting used to. His office staff, on the other hand, seem to be completely unable to do their jobs. I have spent the last three weeks jumping through hoops trying to get my prescription from them (its a controlled substance, so they cant just call it in to the pharmacy). First they told me they could have my primary care physician write the prescription and I could pick it up there, then they changed their minds on that. Then they said they could mail it to me, but over two weeks later it still hasnt arrived. The receptionist just says unhelpful things like "Thats just how the mail is now." I finally convinced them to write a new one so I could pick it up, which requires an extra hour of driving out of my way to get to their office and back, and it took me three separate phone calls and an office visit just to get to that point. Meanwhile, I have been unmedicated for my condition for half a month. To say Im unimpressed would be too kind. If your doctor, like mine, refers you to this clinic, ask for another option.

Ok here is the thing. First I will say the bad points. The people running the front office do not know what they are doing and are very rude. But not all of them. Just some and I dont know their names. I also notice that some of the rude ones do not seem to be there anymore. I see two people there. My therapist is the most amazing woman ever. Beth Gasperich is very down to earth. They have many people working there and I am sure you will find the right one to fit you. You just need to do research. Now lets talk about Matossian. He is the MD there that runs everything. I see a lot of people get down on him. But he is an interesting guy. People say he is rude or he laughs. I honestly thought this at first, but then I got to know him a little more and I realized he cares and he is good at what he does. We even had some nice chats before, even though he is not my main person I go to. I just get my medicine from him. So dont rate him on seeing him a couple times. Give him time. He might be a match for you. If not, like I said, there are others that work there.

I spent almost 12 years seeking help with Advanced Behavioral Medicine in Howell, MI. It took years for the Psychiatrist there to finally find the correct medication to get me on for depression and anxiety. I also sought help for severe emotional distress as I went through a transition in my life of going through a divorce and the separation I experienced from my kids. The psychologists were mediocre at best and after an investment of 12 years of my time trusting them and relying on them for help understanding my situation and caring for me I received a call at work from ABM telling me I was "discharged from their clinic." Why? Because of an act of kindness and generosity that they decided to misinterpret. Really.

YIKES! I find it hard to believe that this is the same place where I have been going for the last few years. #1 Dr Matossian knows exactly what he is doing as far as the medications go, and I find him to be a kind and gentle soul. #2 The therapist who I have been seeing for the last few years has been a big help to me. When I first went to see her, I was a depressed basket case, but because of her patience, kindness, not to mention her expertise, I am much better than I was a few years ago. I am not where I want to be, but I have made lots of progress and am grateful to her and to Dr. Matossian for their help and support. I have no problem recommending both of them.

I have had great success with Dr. Matossian and his therapists. He has always followed up whenever I have had a concern. When you work with one of his therapists, they make themselves available to you whenever you need them. I love this clinic and am glad that it is near me!

the male psychiatrist there laughed at me and offered no help or advice.
