In getting snap on smile I had a terrible experience with Kevin Flood in Cascade (GR) where I had to go back 6 times due to insufficient molds and believe it or not the mislplacement of my bottom set of snap on smile - which started the grueling process of more insufficient molds and returns to get it right. To be honest, Im not sure the bottoms are correct because they fit really tight and can hurt a little. I had to call twice a week to find out where my bottom set was many weeks after the initial mixup. After many weeks I suddenly received them at my house with no notice that they had them when I had spoke to the office 2 days before. I suspect there is a chance that this was possibly the original set they had lost, though I really have no proof (just a hunch). The process (not including the wait time once SOS receives the precise molds they need) took at least 10 weeks and even though I lost count of how many times I had to go back it had to be close to 10 trips in all. I live in Holland which is about 50 minutes to their Cascade office, so do the math on time wasted and the logistical nightmare of making sure my 1.5 year old son was babysat to make these trips. Despite being overly frustrated and beyond the point of understanding why there was so much incompetence I never got mad at them and just tried to be nice about the situation. They actually were avoiding my calls at one point, again I was being very nice on the phone EVERY time and just wanted updates. My dad needed to get the snap on smile desperately, way worse than me. I chose to go to the next closest location to Holland which was Mark E Richardson in Kalamazoo - still a 1:20 minute drive. Mark and his staff were FANTASTIC. My dad had missing teeth in a bad way and his self esteem was so low because of that. I took a chance on Mark not knowing if I would have a similar experience to Kevin Flood. They delivered in an incredible effective and efficient way. We only had to go for the initial visit, then a second visit for the molds (JUST ONCE), and then a follow up visit to just make sure everything was good. I cannot recommend Mark enough. My dad was in poor health and every trip took a lot out of him. To have the Snap on Smile done so efficiently and effectively was truly a miracle given my experience with Kevin Flood. I had 6 revisits for remolds alone with Kevin Flood, Mark did it just once perfectly - keeping in mind they have to be absolutely precise. It speaks to his exceptional work and the entire office was classy and went out of their way to be helpful. If you need a snap on smile, or a consultation about getting it, I would drive 2 hours to go to Mark. Trust me, it will be worth it. In fact, if you live in Cascade, Id drive the hour south to go to Mark. As a Hope Grad it was no surprise to find out Mark Richardson was a Hope Grad as well - they get an A for effectiveness and especially efficiency. If you have any bad/yellow, or missing teeth, make an appointment with Mark and see if Snap on Smile is for you - it is very cost effective and you will go from bad looking teeth to an appearance of near perfect/perfect teeth. Before spending tons of money on just one implant, go consult with Mark about Snap on Smile because the cost of 1 or 2 implants will pay for your top AND bottom set of snap on smile.

Dr. Mark and his staff are exceptional people. They ALWAYS make my daughter comfortable and shes never afraid. That being said, at Lilys last visit, she had a cavity and Dr. Mark drilled it and filled it and she never knew. She didnt experience any pain or discomfort. Dr. Mark is an amazing dentist and man all together. He and his wife, Tina and children give back to the community in so many ways. Not to mention, he, his wife Tina and the staff of wonderful ladies go every year to Hondorous (spelling may be wrong) and they give free dental care to anyone who needs it. Ive seen pictures where you could not see the end of the line. They work all day sometimes with no break to fit in everyone. They also take toys, dental care products and anything else they can to give the citizens of Hondorous and to help the kids not be afraid. These are exceptional people and Im so very honored that Ive met them and can call them friends. Theyve also been very patient with me as Im going through some health issues and have lost my payments from my insurance carrier and not once did they make me feel like I was neglecting my responsibility or hassled me about it. Thank you very much, Dr. Mark, Tina, Brenda and the rest of the ladies for everything yall do. If you are lucky enough to become a dental patient with Dr. Mark, I hope that you stay with them and refer all your friends and family!!

Well, I have to admit that I never liked dentists. In the 50s our family dentist did not deaden our teeth before drilling so I was always very uncomfortable just going into a Dentist Office. Fast forward almost 60 years and I no longer feel uncomfortable, in fact I actually enjoy the friendliness and fun when I go to see Mark E. Richardson, DDS on Gayle Ave. in Kalamazoo. Dr. Mark and his staff make me laugh, as you can tell by the pictures they posted on Facebook. And to thank them I no longer leave my fingernail marks on the arms of the chairs when I sit down. So in short, if you need a dentist you should make an appointment. The whole atmosphere of their office is professional, calm (except when we are laughing and making fun of Dr. Mark), and comfortable.

Tina Richardson

Dr. Mark is my husband....and my dentist. He has actually been my dentist since he was in dental school. He is very caring, compassionate, patient and listens to all of your needs. I have been working as his dental assistant for the past 4 years. His office is very family focused and he gives you several options. If you are looking for a dentist that makes you feel at home, my husband is the one for you. He performs all dental procedures including invisible braces, root canals, crowns/bridges, implants and teeth whitening.

I started as a patient with Dr. Dean Richardson seemingly decades ago. In fact, my mother, Sandy, was one of his assistants. Dr. Dean always gave me excellent results, which continues to this day with Dr. Mark. His congenial manner coupled with his excellent professional skills takes away any anxiety one might have about a visit to the dentist. The staff, including Brenda, Holly, Amy and others are the best! Anyone considering a move to a new dentist would do well to visit Dr. Mark E. Richardson DDS in Kalamazoo.

When I started going to Dr. Mark 22 years ago I had gum disease and loose teeth. Since then Dr. Mark started me on a treatment program and had me come in every 3 months. My teeth are no longer loose and I havent lost any of them. I would recommend this office to anyone in the area. I drive from out of town. They are friendly and professional.
