I brought my son to this clinic after a referral by his Neurologist team. My son had brain surgery related to a genetic seizure disorder. My youngest son died as a result of this disorder and that is what lead my son to opt for the brain surgery. Unfortunately, the outcome left him with a serious mental condition. Dr. Z and my son had a treatment plan and medications that were really working. My son had a trusting relationship with Dr. Z. Then Dr. Z left the practice and a new (brand new-just out of a school/internship) was assigned. He met my son and within 3 minutes had ruined a trusting relationship with Nystrom. My son came storming out of his office and this is not typical of him. He said the new doctor wanted to change his medication and didnt even spend time getting to know him. When he disagreed, he was told he could not be seen there anymore. This has been very stressful for him and caused a lot of anxiety which has led to more seizures as he tries to find another doctor, and worries about running out of his meds. These medications can have life devastating affects if stopped cold turkey. Living in a rural area leaves few options for mental health care. Most places have up to six month waiting lists. He needs a specialist due to the brain surgery and mental health problem. The absolute neglectful way he was treated, leaves him in a dangerous situation. I cant even believe the ignorant, callous and unresponsible treatment of a patient is legal.

EXTREMELY difficult to find a knowledgeable/helpful staff member in the psychiatry and the therapist departments. I recommended this place to my friends who are now changing providers as well and I highly suggest you save your money and time by finding an establishment that genuinely cares. I went through multiple therapists until I found a caring and one ACTUALLY interested in me. It is hard to get an appt with a psychiatrist so they had me meet with a doctor from California... OVER A COMPUTER SCREEN. My doctor DID NOT help for over a year and a half of seeing her. I expressed these concerns of my no improvement, I was then KICKED OUT OF NYSTROMS & ASSOCIATES, stating they could "not provide for me any longer".... For expressing my thoughts and the situations I was going through? My bad?? I guess I thought wrong thinking they were there to listen and HELP!! I have been diagnosed with anxiety PTSD AND EXTREME DEPRESSION and she just cut me off from my medication and care leaving me feeling so alone and my emotions completely out of whack. Just a mess of a business and multiple horrible employees.

So something happened to my med psychiatrist and he is not there anymore. I talked with various people so they can help me. I spoke with a nurse and she was very rude to me. She told me that I should go see a therapist because I have no communication skills only because I was wondering what was gonna happen with my medications since I didnt have a provider anymore and would have to wait 4 months to be seen. They made me feel like it was my fault and I did not appreciate that. I didnt like how she spoke to me when I was trying to figure out what was going on.

My family member saw a psychiatrist there and he left the clinic without notifying any if his patients and I was left with no meds. Not good. Nobody sent me a letter telling me the provider left the clinic. Now Im left scrambling, waiting on a nurse to fill my refills. Another thing, that same provider was charging my mwdicaire for psychotherapy and I dont have that. Hes committing FRAUD! I am now like many other vulnerable adults left with no psychiatric doctor. Very I unprofessional!

After my sons dr decided to take an extended leave of absence they now couldnt get him into a new dr for another 2 months. Sorry, that doesnt help my mental health or his at all. Incredibly disappointed. If a dr. leaves, perhaps you need to have the resources available to cover the situation rather than just squeezing us in where ever there is room. Im looking elsewhere for care. Tired of dealing with this big bureacracy.

I was diagnosed with SAD Feb 2014, I was given a light box, now 3 years later, Nystrom cant even write me a note that says diet and exercise is doctor recommended. MAYBE, if I get another appointment, they can give me a note. Why? Its so simple.

I saw Jean today for my first time visiting Nystrom and Associates. I was so impressed and happy! Jean actually listens to me and we worked TOGETHER to make a plan for my future treatments. I am very grateful and will for sure return.
