Because it was the closest Vet to me at the time, I took my dog to Village Animal Clinic in an emergency situation. The reason for my visit was that my dog had been anxiously panting and pacing for about 20 minutes after I brought him inside from our backyard. Not a patron or a pet was in the Clinic, just the Vet and his secretary who were talking and laughing at the front desk. As I stood there explaining the situation while holding my dog, who was panting and clearly in distress, the Vet showed no sense of urgency whatsoever. I was stunned by the slow-motion response that was playing out in front of me. I had to fill out forms and discuss payment before he would even see my dog. The Vets diagnosis was an allergic reaction, and his remedy was Benadryl - adding that if this continues for a few hours, to consider taking him to an emergency vet, but all-in-all he should be just fine. It was about an hour after arriving home from the Village Animal Clinic that I picked up my dog and thoroughly checked every part of his body since the panting hadnt subsided - at which point I found a bright red spot on his belly that looked like a spider bite. I took him straight to the ER Vet which was further away, and long story short, we were too late. The spot was indeed a bite of some kind which caused a domino effect that ultimately led to bleeding in the brain. Before we sadly had to put him to his final rest, I will never forget the look of distress on his sweet face. After the incident, I decided to wait several months before I would post a review of this Vet so as not to allow raw emotion to affect my evaluation. I do blame myself for not finding the red spot earlier than I did because it wasnt small. But to pay a licensed Vet to evaluate my dog, I am still in disbelief to this day that the Vet at Village Animal Clinic did not find it. If he had seen the bright red bite mark, I would have taken my dog to the ER Vet right away which could have altered the outcome. My experience at Village Animal Clinic was horrible. I understand that a doctor wants to make sure a patient can pay for services, but as a dog and animal lover myself, I dearly hope that most Vets feel the same way. This doctor clearly did not. I do not know if my dog would still be alive today if I had taken him to a different Vet, a serious Vet . . . but I do know that this "Vet" contributed to my dog not being able to recover in time. If you are looking for a Vet for routine check-ups, I cannot speak to that. But if you are in a situation where your pet is in distress and you live near Lamp and Lantern Village, stay clear of Village Animal Clinic.

Dr. Finkle is the best! I take both of my dogs to him and after a mishap which required immediate assistance with one of my dogs he was there for us. His staff are always extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend Village Animal Clinic for any of your pet needs.

Dr. Finkel and his staff are super awesome. I have taken my dog to them since we rescued her and it is always a great experience. Dr. Finkel is the best and we are so happy to have him as our Vet. My husband and I would never take our baby girl to anyone else.

Dr. Finkel is an exceptional veterinarian. He took all the time that was necessary and explained options thoroughly and understandably. Our puppy loves him! I recommend him to all our friends.
