Stephen D. Williams runs a tight ship. Dont let it confuse you. He is a very pro-dental-work dentist. He also seems to do unnecessary work. He once did a $400 filling on my tooth, only to put a crown onto it a week later. When I felt this was wrong -- give me a crown or give me a filling -- I was sort of handled by his assistant, who told me that there was decay under my filling, and getting a filling and then a crown was common procedure. Of course, I have no way of knowing whether or not this is true, but Id never experienced it in the past. I had to cancel an appointment to have the above-mentioned crown installed. It was the second appointment I had missed. I was actually stranded in an Osceola hotel, with my car at the shop. I called to cancel, and the woman who answered treated me very rudely. I can understand she didnt believe that I was in Osceola with car trouble -- I was, and I even wrote about it -- but she should have PRETENDED to believe me. When the cap was installed it was clearly too big. Stephen, who bristles at being called Stephen, took it out and put it in dozens of times, refiling it over and over again. He put it into place. It was too big. I didnt complain because I was afraid of him. Less than a week later, the veneer of a crown beside the new one fractured. I missed a third appointment. I would always call to cancel the morning of. I understand this is an inconvenience, and I agreed to pay the fee for it. HOWEVER, I was astonished when my husband and I were told that we werent allowed to make appointments any more, that they would email us the day-of when they had cancellations. Also, they are ALWAYS trying to make you buy some $20 toothpaste they sell. I even once heard two of his assistants going through a training video on HOW TO SELL it, and once, I saw them trying to sell it to an old man who didnt have insurance. Be careful. I dont trust him.

The service that I received here at Dr. Steven Williams dental office has been one of the best service Ive had in Kansas City. When I booked my appointment the receptionist was very welcoming over the phone and when I came in person. I was greeted the very first moment I walked into the door with the warm and friendly atmosphere of the office staff. The office itself had great decor and a well laid modern design that made me feel very relaxed. My dental hygienists was a pro! She took all of my questions and provided me with a lot of knowledge about dental hygiene products that are out there on the market (very important to know!). She worked with me to build a better dental routine and made sure that my teeth were sparkling clean before I left the office! (THANK YOU SOO MUCH). Dr. Williams wants the best for your dental care and gives great recommendations. He will let know what work you will need in the future and I enjoyed the fact that he does not sugar coat anything (apologies for the pun) which made me take my own dental routine much more serious. I am very new to having my own insurance (I was on my moms for the longest time) so when I ask questions I do feel a bit embarrassed, however, at Dr. S.Williams office the office manager took any and all of my questions and helped me decipher how my dental insurance worked. The service here was very extraordinary from great conversations to great service. I care a lot about my teeth and Dr. Williams and his staff worked with me to insure that my teeth stay strong and healthy as possible! Thank you so much and yes I do look forward to my next visit!

I dread going to the dentist and pretty much worry about what will happen the whole day before I have my appointment UNTIL....I found Dr. Williams and his fantastic staff. They are on time and friendly. The professional that cleans my teeth is friendly and, without making me feel awkward, does all the poking and prodding without hurting me or making me feel badly when I jump. Dr. Williams puts me at ease and when he has to fill a tooth....the shot doesnt hurt and hes always willing to let you have a moment to catch your breath. I can almost say that I dont worry about going...I definitely look forward to the people interaction...and they take my mind off the rest. If this would have been how all the dentists throughout my lifetime had been, I wouldnt be such a nervous Nelly and afraid. I completely appreciate the empathy the people here have for someone like me, how they make me feel at ease and the high quality work that is done on my teeth. If you need someone who knows 100% what they are doing, is painless, friendly, kind and professional....this is the dentist for you. PS....when I had to have a whole lot of work done, I could afford it. Dr. Williams has arranged for a special line of credit that made it affordable for me....I could make payments to the line of credit over a years time. It was the only way I could have done all this work and I appreciate the concern he shows over helping people get the treatment they need without going broke.

Dr. Williams and his staff are absolutely the best - As a person who has had years of Dentist-phobia, I can honestly say, I wish I would have found them sooner. Due to my fears, I had avoided the dentist for so long that I was embarrassed to be seen, not to mention terrified. From the moment I called his office, the staff and Dr. Williams treated with me respect and dignity, and put me at ease. Not only is he a pain-free dentist (big plus for me!), he treats his patients with kindness and compassion. All my questions are heard and answered and even followed up on. The office is easy to find (on the plaza, across from Panera, go to the top of the garage...not hard to find at all!) and the office is soothing, and the equipment is up-to-date and clean. (Who knew you could watch movies while you had your teeth worked on?) As for my teeth - I can tell you the before and after are absolutely night and day (I find myself looking in the mirror and making sure they are really fixed and so nice!) I still have more work to go (many years of neglect arent fixed overnight!) But each time I leave I smile a little bigger, proud to be getting closer to a smile to show off....and wondering why I ever waited so long! Thank you to Dr. Williams and his whole staff I will be bringing my family to his office from now on - and I will be recommending him to anyone who will ask.

If I could give them higher than an excellent, I would. Let me first start off by saying that I was the person who hated going to the dentist...that is until I came here. I was directed here by my sister after having a very unpleasant experience at another dentists location. I went in, naturally very hesitant, but by the end of the appointment I felt like hugging every one of them if I could. His staff and himself explained everything to me and made sure I understood what needed to be done, how it would be done and why it should be done. They didnt pressure me into getting anything done that wasnt necessary. I had a cavity on one tooth that the previous dentist told me I needed a root canal, no if ands or buts; Dr. Williams did tell me that a root canal might have been needed, but he would do what he could to prevent having to go that far. And he did just that; he was able to fill the cavity without having to take any drastic measures. During the procedures they were very gentle, I actually felt like I could take a nap while they were doing their work. The prices are beyond reasonable (I dont have dental insurance, so I have to pay out of pocket). This office is the only dental office I will/have ever recommend!
