More than 15 years ago, I had a very painful root canal that my orthodontist was unable to take care off. During 3 separate appointments, he could not num my tooth. I required to be put to sleep, but my insurance refused to cover the anesthesia. They suggested I try Dr. Mingos Office because they were used to doing this kind of procedure. My first experience at that moment was wonderful. The dentist and the assistant were so kind, gentle, made me feel safe, very professional, and took care of my root canal without me feeling any pain. Since then, I decided to continue going to the Cabin where all the dentists, assistants, hygienists and office staff are so professional and nice. I have recommended the Cabin to my entire family and all my friends. All of them are very satisfied. We are all loyal patients of the Cabin. I dont live in MO, but I prefer to drive far because the service is worth it. My son always schedules his appointments before coming to Kansas City when he needs a job done. He traveled from Chicago, and now from New York because he trusts Dr. Mingos staff to do a good job and feels safe at the Cabin. Thank you Dr. Mingos for building such a wonderful Team, keeping the Cabin nice and clean, and having all the latest equipments needed for a great job. We will keep coming and spreading the word.

This is the worst experience I have ever had at dentist. I went in for a FREE consultation for cosmetic dentistry. The dentist was condescending and laughed at me about everything I told her I wanted done. So much so that I was trying not to cry as I sat there and ended up crying when I left. I asked her what she thought about filing my teeth and she said one of them could maybe benefit and that she could file a little to see if I liked it. She filed for maybe 10 seconds and it made no difference. By that time I was so upset I just wanted to leave so I said it was fine and left. They tried to charge me $90 for my free consultation and I explained that when I called they had said it would be free because I had the online offer. They ended up not charging me. Until today when I received a bill charging me for the filed tooth. That was not part of the original discussion and they are just trying to find something they can charge me for. Not only that, but that is in no way worth $90 nor was I advised it would cost that much. I wish I could pay to erase this experience from my memory.

Dr. Mingos and his staff are all very accommodating, friendly, and professional. From the moment you walk in to "The Cabin", you are greeted with a welcoming smile, and a very "homey" feel -- they have several lobby televisions, toys for kids to pass the time, solid reading material, and even an artificial fireplace. All of the hygienists I have spent time with are kind, and skilled at their craft. I have also found it quite helpful that they offer appointments on Saturdays. I can also assure any review-reader out there that although they are a large practice, with a substantial client-base, they really make you feel as if youre their most important client. I have had several "special cases" that needed to be addressed as soon as possible, and they were able to accommodate my needs and surpass my expectations. As if all of these aforementioned reasons werent enough, their convenient location on southbound SW Trafficway (Belleview), as well as having recently added expanded parking, it is a no-brainer to go to Dr. Mingos & Associates if you are looking for a new dentist in KC.

Ive been going to Dr. Beard at Mingos & Associates for just over two years now. They are very friendly and their offices are comfortable. Their office is in a log cabin just off the Plaza, but the inside is updated with all the latest equipment. I really like that they have late evening and Saturday hours to accommodate busy schedules like mine. They made me a bite guard to help with nighttime grinding, and when Dr. Beard discovered that I wasnt wearing it because it was not very comfortable, he offered to remake it (another style) at no cost to me. My only criticism would be that with so many doctors and hygenists, I dont think Ive ever had my teeth cleaned by the same person twice. Even though the hygenists are very nice, its difficult to build a rapport. Also, since each hygenist has a slightly different style/technique/hand, I never know what my cleaning is going to feel like, so theres a little bit of uncertainty every time I go in. Overall, I would highly recommend (and have!) this practice.

I am a new patient of Dr. Mingos and his wonderful staff as of 08-20-2015 therefore I am only giving them a 4 star rating. I have extensive dental work that need to be done, along with a discomfort with Dentist in general, and we have only just began my treatment. However, having said that, the two visits I have had so far have been wonderful. Dr. Mingos and his staff are professional, friendly, and knowledgeable; and have gone above board to ease my fears and to make me as comfortable as possible during my treatments. I have no doubt that the great service I have received so far will continue. I plan on updating my review once the work on my teeth is complete or at least al little further along than I am now and fully expect to be upgrade my rating at that time. Maybe I will even love this place after all is said and done , but not yet.

I went to Steven Mingos after not going to the dentist for 1.5 years and when I got there, they were very friendly, which is to be expected in this day and age, but once I got to the chair is when the bad started. During the initial probing and inspection of my teeth and gums, they said I needed 4 cavities filled and a filling put in. I was a bit shocked at that and went to get another opinion. Always get another opinion on dental procedures because you cant be too sure with businesses nowadays. Anyways, I went to another dentist and got my mouth checked out without telling them that I had been to another dentist. After the inspection, they said I only needed 1 cavity filled. Goes to show you that some businesses just want to milk your insurance for money.

I had been seeing another fine dentist for 40 years and never considered switching. I had a bad accident and needed extensive dental work. Dr. Mingos was willing to take my insurance. When I went to his office I was very impressed with all of his staff. Everyone is highly qualified. There is a level of technology in his office that I had never seen or experienced. Dr. Mingos has the most advanced equipment available in dentistry and he and his staff know how to use it. To make a long story short, I have switched dentists and couldnt be happier. I am also seeing one of his hygienist, Julie. She makes me feel very comfortable, does great work and always teaches me something new. I highly recommend Dr. Mingos and his staff!
