I LOVE North Mankato Family Dentistry! Let me tell you why: My previous dental experiences - with other providers - were a "sit in a chair, scrape and dig, and see you in 6 months"-type experience. No one listened to you, no one took the time to understand what your dental anxieties may be ... it just seemed no one cared about you. Until I found North Mankato Family Dentistry! I had neglected my dental health for over 4 years because of my previous experiences/anxieties. I knew I was going to need at least a really good cleaning and some fillings. It took me 3 months to get the nerve to call to make the appointment! After that first phone call - when they told me that they could even do a cleaning under sedation - I knew I found the right place. At my first appointment they toured me through their facility, explained all their services, and introduced me to the staff. Dr. Flack came in, introduced himself, sat down next to me and just talked! I could have cried with relief! Finally, someone that would listen to me! I was able to tell him (and his assistant) what I felt I could handle and what I couldnt and they were very sensitive to my anxiety ... they did nothing that I felt would freak me out. Then, I scheduled my first sedation appointment. It was AWESOME! The night-before pill kept me calm and relaxed; I had an excellent night sleep -- I didnt lay awake in bed all night worrying about the appointment. The next morning, 1/2 hour before my appointment, I took those 2 little magical blue pills. Wow! I have very few blips of things I remember from the appointment, but there was no pain, no anxiety, no stress. It was literally, take a nap, get your teeth cleaned/restored, and wake up! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this if you have dental anxiety! And even if you dont, Drs. Flack & Schuck and their entire staff are TOP NOTCH!

If you are looking for the very phenomenal dentists, dental hygienists, and staff not only in Mankato but in Minnesota, I do highly recommend and only recommend North Mankato Family Dentistry!! The North Mankato Family Dentistry’s practice is highly distinguished by their integrated patient care: the cutting-edge dental technologies (including the state-of-the-art 3D X-rays (only 1 of 6 in MN) and just-a-pill sedation dentistry) and procedures intertwined with their dedicated interpersonal skills for a patient like me who wants to understand the treatment regimen I will be receiving and who expects and values the very best outcomes. I have been a committed patient of Dr. Flack and Dr. Schuck for ten years since I was a student majoring in pre-medicine at MSU, Mankato. Back then, to be honest, I did not know about this dentistry at all. When I had a tooth problem, I just grabbed a yellow page and randomly started to call up a couple dozens of the dental offices in Mankato. The only dentistry staffs who were very friendly and motivated to achieve the best results for me over the phone were the North Mankato Family Dentistry team. “Your first instinct is always right!!” Ever since then, no matter where I moved within MN and from MN to Iowa, I always drive back to this dentistry. As I now also work in healthcare, I do highly value their services even more than ever before. I can clearly attest I have my 100% trust and faith in them. And they have never ever failed to meet and go beyond my expectation for their excellent patient care service!! Over the last ten years, my dental hygienist has changed from Stephanie to Linda. Yet their dedicated patient care and expertise has been just keeping improving!! I thank Dr. Flack and Dr. Schuck and all the staff members for providing me with the exceptional care, always!!

This was my first experience at NMFD and I must say that, beyond a doubt, it was the best experience Ive ever had at the dentist. From Katies kindness and professionalism on the phone and at my initial reception in the office, answering questions about insurance, setting the appointment and assisting with paperwork. Linda, my hygienist who made me feel extremely welcome and relaxed by taking me on a tour of the facility and explaining all of their equipment and walking me through everything that was going to be done. She was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough during the exam making sure to answer all of my questions and making sure I was comfortable. Her experience and knowledge shined throughout the entire visit. Dr. Flack was exceptional. As he reviewed the imaging he made it a point to involve me in the process and explain what he was looking for and what it was that he was looking at. Beyond those directly involved in my dental care, the entire team in the office throughout my visit made it a point to introduce themselves and welcome me. I have never liked going to the dentist, in fact I would say that I have a fear of it. Because of the patience and understanding, the listening and communication, coupled with the most technologically advanced office Ive been to, the experience was exceptional. I left the office actually wanting to come back. Service like what I received today is hard to come by. My hats off to you and your team. Thank you! I would highly recommend you to anyone.

Being brave means researching. And thinking about what advice to take. We really dont know what is best, Until we work at deciding. How can you be brave when you go to the dentist? Pain isnt something you associate with being brave. What if you didnt remember the pain, And you didnt have to go completely out? Research how Dr. Flack handles each case. Ive been through many different kinds of pain killers. I dont want to take pills that make me want more. I want just enough so I dont remember the pain. I just completed my second sedation treatment. The time when I was sedated just disappeared. They told me I talked to them while I was sedated, And that I was the perfect patient. Im finishing some parts of a book of verse, while I recover. I was writing about "being brave". And I knew I had to write about my "pain free" experience. Now I know what being brave is. That is it! This is what it is like to be brave. You can even be brave at the dentist. We can all use that kind of bravery. I highly recommend North Mankato Family Dentistry. Dr Flack, the hygienists, and staff are professional and caring. They treat you with dignity and respect and yes, they make you fell like family. If you are new to the Mankato/North Mankato community and searching for a dentist, look no further. Dr.s Flack and Schuck are professional and stay up to date on the latest dental procedures.

I have a terrible anxiety concerning needles and drilling and it is really difficult for me to have any dental work done other than cleaning my teeth. Just the thought of a root canal makes me sweat and my heart rate increase to an alarming rate. Dr. Keith Flack at North Mankato Family Dentistry has alleviated my fear of needles and drilling with his sedation dentistry. It has been the perfect answer to relieving my anxiety about dental visits that require more that just cleaning my teeth. Even though I was not asleep, I dont feel or remember any of the dental work he has performed with this sedation method. I have had an extraction, root canal, and crowns done without any anxiety or mental trauma. It is simply a wonderful answer to a difficult problem for me. In addition, Dr. Flack gives me many options regarding what actually needs to be done right away and what can wait in regard to my dental needs. He also has done some wonderful cosmetic fixes for some of the gaps between my teeth and enhanced the beauty of my overall smile. Dr. Flack is kind and very thorough in his evaluation of my dental health. He always checks for any abnormalities in my mouth such as growths or lumps that could possibly be dangerous. I appreciate his thoroughness, thoughtfulness and kindness in my dental care.
