So here is the deal! My dog has a 6" mass in his chest that they found because we brought him in because he had a cold that appeared to be bronchitis and he had it a couple of times. Well I guess the mass is what is causing the sickness. They gave him x-rays, an antibiotic and blood work and that is how they saw the mass. Then they told us they wanted us to see a specialist and we took him to the specialist after the weekend because they were closed. When we took him there they said that did not want to run any tests because he was sick and oh yeah give me a $120.00 for listening to your dogs heartbeat. So now we are at over $600.00 to find out nothing. They dont know if it is in his esophagus or his lungs, what it is, and they even said well we fear he may be getting pneumonia but they said if it is in his esophagus they couldnt operate. So let me charge you $1100.00 (not counting the $600 that is already gone) to do tests and then we couldnt treat him for his sickness or have surgery because we wouldnt have the money. Instead of trying to treat him something to make him feel better. I explain that to Dr. Judy and she said let me talk to the specialist and see what she says (Dr. Cocaine) I think. So she calls them and calls me back and said if he didnt seem better in two days that they still wanted to do the tests. What the crap good does tests do when you cant make him feel halfway normal if you think it is cancer? So we picked up his records and brought him to a different vet that said it does appear cancerous but with him being almost 13 she would appreciate not putting him through all of that and to continue on the antibiotics as well as another medicine and it will clear up his sickness within a couple of days but he may not last to long and charged us $40.00 for looking at the blood work and x-rays. The best thing is the new vet said his calcium in his blood is high and that would cause him to lose weight and lose fast even if he does eat normally. So that told us the vet that said if he doesnt get better we want to continue the tests (Dr. Judy) knew that and didnt tell us just to get the money from us and her specialist to get money too!!! I will NEVER go back there and please if you love your pet please dont go there either!

Yesterday 9-8-17 we visited this vet for rabies shots for our cat and new dog. We called ahead of time and faxed all our paperwork which we got from the humane society. Tender Care said they would take the free humane society rabies voucher in which we were given when we rescued our new puppy from the humane society. We arrived ahead of time. The employee in the front asked if I brought a stool sample. I told him ,"no, I was not told I needed to. " he said it was no problem and that I could run a sample up there. (This was *strike 1* as they are already costing me time and money to run my dogs fecies back up there) So, we go to a room after waiting 5 minutes. We get into a room and a tech comes in within a min or two. She explains to me that they do not accept the humane society voucher (in which they previously told me they would) because it is a "humane society of missouri" voucher. (I do not know the difference.) She said we could get a rabies vaccine at their facility today for $85. (*strike 2*) why would I pay $85 when I could go somewhere else and get it free! I opted out of their $85 rabies for my dog but decided to go ahead and have my cat get his. The tech said it would be a little wait because the vet was in surgery. I waited exactly. 45mins and no one came into the room. *strike 3* I left. They never called either to apologize. I wouldnt waste my time and money on this vet if I were you.

The staff at Tender Care Animal Hospital are all so friendly and helpful. When I called to set up the first appointment for our new 8 week old shih poo puppy, Tibbers, Tonia helped me and I was able to get an appointment the same day. Everyone seems very knowledgeable and they are very willing to answer any questions you have. They genuinely care about the animals they see. We saw Dr. Susan Starr , and she was wonderful. She explained what they found concerning a parasite in his stool and how and why it needs to be treated. We were given a schedule of future visits and shots along with an estimate of costs. I appreciate how upfront they are about the fees that may be incurred. While signing one of the estimate forms, Melissa, the tech helping us, even mentioned that they dont like to hide anything from their customers. We felt very comfortable taking our puppy here and look forward to developing a long relationship with everyone there.

Tender Care Animal hospital has been my vet for 5 years. I recently took both my dogs Maddy and Dusty to get their routine yearly shots. Last year when I took Maddy for her yearly shots she had a terrible allergic reaction to her shots resulting in additional ER visit one hour after her shots. In preparation for her same routine shots, Dr. Judy asked to have Maddy come in early and be dropped off at clinic so she could be observed and monitored after her shots to ensure she was ok. Dr. Judy and staff gave Maddy a pre-antihistime to aid her in any post allergic reaction after her shots. In addition, Dr. Judy kept me posted on Maddys progress throughout the day. I felt safe leaving both my dogs in their care because of the great previous experiences I have had with Tender Care. I relocated to Hazelwood 3 years ago, but still continue to have my dogs be seen at Tender Care because of their exceptional customer service.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tender Care Animal Hospital. Dr. Bob diagnosed my dog with high blood pressure which gave me another 18 months with my dog Bailey. When it got close to the end of her life, Dr. Judy was so incredibly comprehensive in explaining what my dog was experiencing, compassionate and patient. That is such a sad time for a pet owner. The day Bailey went to dog Heaven, Dr. Judy could not have been more kind and wonderful to me. The techs and office staff were a completely different experience for me. At my prior vets office, anytime I called, they acted like I was bothering them. Not at Tender Care! Their staff: Tonia, Amy, Linda, etc. really care about us and our pets. They never make us feel like we are bothering them. They love our animals and they know so much; I learn from them as well. I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Tender Care. They are my angels on earth. Thank you.

My sister use to work here and she started fostering kittens. Today my 9 year old niece found one of the foster kittens had passed away. She was devasted! My niece has a huge heart for people and animals. My sister had taken the foster baby to tendercare. A few hours later I called tendercare and explained who i was and how my niece found the kitten this morning. I asked them if there was anyway they could make her a paw print for her. They told me it wasnt a problem at all they told understood and were amazing! We cant thank you guys enough for making her a paw print of "fluffys" paw. It means the world to her that she will always have a piece of the foster baby with her forever!! Thank you guys for being amazing!! And thank you guys soo much for making her "fluffys" paw print!! :) You guys rock!!
