6/10- AS A NEW PATIENT I ASKED WHEN I MADE APPOINTMENT IF THERE WAS A CHARGE FOR THE CONSULT OR X RAYS AND WAS TOLD NO- WHEN I ARRIVED IN JUNE I ASKED AGAIN AND TOLD NO AGAIN--THEN THEN ASK FOR MY INSURANCE CARD (THEY ASKED IF I HAD INSURANCE WHEN I MADE THE APPT) I ASKED WHY THEY NEEDED IT IF THEY DID INTEND TO BILL AND THEY SAID IT WAS JUST FOR THE FILE. MY INSURANCE WAS BILLED AND PD 200.00 OUT OF MY MAX YEARLY AMOUNT OF 1,000 WHEN I GOT THE INSURANCE STATEMENT I CALLED ASPEN AND THEYSAID "FREE ONLY IF YOU DO NOT DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE. 4 TIMES I ASKED DIRECTLY AND WAS LIED TO POINT BLANK--NO BILL TO INSURANCE COMPANY. INSURER IS INVESTIGATING AND I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED. ALSO, 2ND OPINION BY ESTABLISHED DR. COULD NOT BELIEVE THEY WOULD EXTRACT ALL MY TEETH AND REMOVE BONE WITH NOVACANE ONLY-RUN ASPEN AND ALCARE THROUGH A GOOGLE SEARCH AND YOU WILL READ SOME REAL HORROR STORIES, AS TO SERVICE- SUBSTANDARD DENTURES -PAIN- ESTIMATES GIVEN WERE ALWAYS 40-90 PERCENT TO LOW AND EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE-NO ORAL SURG. THERE DAILY, AND BEST COMPLAINT IS THOSE WHO CANT PAY IN FULL GET A LOAN AT 20 PLUS PERCENT AND THE LEND AND DENTIST ARE ALLEGED TO HAVE A BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP--SOUNDS LIKE A CONFLICT TO ME--JUST DONT GO--EVEN COMPLAINTS ABOUT CLEANINGS- EVERYONE WHO BOOKS AN APPT EXPECTS THERE TEETH WILL BE CLEANED RIGHT--WRONG THEY EVALUATE AND XRAY YOU AND HAVE YOU COME BACK AGAIN, BUT WAIT FOR THE KICKER--IF YOUR TEETH ARE VERY DIRTY YOU MIGHT NEED 2 OR 3 APPTS TO CLEAN YOUR TEETH- AND PEOPLE INSURERS DONT PAY FOR PATIENTS TO ATTEND 4 VISITS FOR A 6 MONTH CLEANING--PEOPLE TRIED TO REFUSE AND REQUESTED 1 CLEANING AND WHILE IN MANAGERS OFFICE WAS TOLD THEY WERE NOT BARGAINING HE WAS REQUIRED TO MAKE ALL APPTS (ASPEN AND ALLCARE) USE THIS NEW MANAGER TO UP SELL IN A NAZI FASHION-THEY GUY DIDNT HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICES IN AREA BC ALLCARE AND ASPEN WERE A MONOPOLY IN HIS AREA. NO THE NICE MANAGER TOLD HIM HE WOULD HAVE TO TRAVEL 80 MILES EACH WAY, AND WAIT UNTIL THE PATIENT FOUND A NEW WILLING DENTIST A MILLION MILES AWAY AND THEN WAIT FOR ASPEN TO SIGN OFF AS THE PRIMARY DENTIST--OH YES-SINCE THE GUY HAD INSURANCE WE CAN SEE THAT ASPEN GOT THE 200.00 DOLLARS OR MORE-BETTER TRY GETTING THOSE XRAYS--OH YOU WILL AFTER PAYING A COPY CHARGE PER SHEET 10-30 DOLLARS EACH SHEET AND WAITING AND BEGGING. I JUST WONDERED IF THE GUY HAD A TOOTH LEFT IN HIS HEAD BUY THE TIME ASPEN RELEASED HIM FROM THEIR "CARE" SO HE COULD SEE A REAL DENTIST NOT THE NEW DENTIST FACTORIES THAT ARE IN EVERY STRIP MALL--I SEE MY GOOD OLD FASHION DENTIST WHO STILL GIVES ME MY SOFT ORAL B BRUSH-FLOSS-AND PASTE--LOOK UP DR. BRUCE KATZ YOU COULD NOT PAY ME ENOUGH TO GO TO A PLACE WHO DID NOT GIVE ME A FREE BRUSH A SIDE NOTE IF YOU ARE FORCED TO GO TO ONE OF THESE PLACES: KEEP THESE WORDS ON THE TIP OF YOUR TONGUE- FRAUD- MISREPRESENTATION- JUSTIFIED RELIANCE ON COMP OR AN AGENT THAT YOU RELIED UPON TO YOUR DETRIMENT-IT MEANS YOU ASKED! THEY LIED! YOU RELIED ON THAT LIE, AND BUT FOR THE LIE AS TO THE FREE SERVICE YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE GONE THERE. BENEFIT OF THE BARGAIN YOU DID NOT GET WHAT WAS FAIR AND RIGHT. LEVEL PLAYING FIELD- NOT HERE THEY GOT YOU! UNJUST ENRICHMENT- YOU GOT ZERO AND THEY MAKE OUT FOR DOING NEXT TO NOTHING. OWNER-THAT IS THE PATIENT YOU OWN YOUR CHART AND AFTER A RELEASE IS SIGNED THEY HAVE A MAX OF 30 TO PROVIDE THE RECORDS AND MAY CHARGE A CUSTOMARY FEE TO COPY RECORD. CONFLICT OF INTEREST- OWN WHO MIGHT BE SWAYED IN A DECISION BC HE CHARGES FOR THE SERVICE AND AND HAS A VERY CLOSE AND POSSIBLY EVEN A MONEY MAKING RELATION WITH THE AGENCY WHO LOANS PATIENT THE MONEY FOR 20 PERCENT. IF ANY OF THESE ISSUES AND RULES SOUND FAMILIAR I AM SORRY, BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS NOT LEGAL- AND THEY CANT DO IT. SO CALL YOUR INSURER AND THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND FOR GOOD MEASURE SEND A DEMAND LETTER FOR A REFUND IF YOU DIDNT GET THE BENEFIT OF THE BARGAIN OR A FRAUD WAS COMMITTED AGAINST YOU. TERRIBLE! The first time I went there it was alright. A bit embarrassing, and they treated me like a child and didnt take the time to explain anything to me. The way they treated me actually brought me to tears. Then I called to get x-rays and they were very rude on the phone. Later on I stopped by in person to sign a form so they could send my records to another dentist for a second opinion. After a lot of excuses and drama that wasnt needed, the woman at the front desk (the blonde, the darker haired one with the glasses was very nice to me), continued to be rude and even put her hands on her hips and looked me up and down being overly judgmental. I couldnt believe the way I was being treated. At aspen they dont treat you like a human being, they treat you like a piece of meat with a check book. I will never go back here and I am so glad I didnt have any treatments done here. Oh and at the second opinion with another dentist he said I didnt have nearly as many problems as the dentist at Aspen said I did and made me feel much better about my teeth. This gives me the impression that Aspen actually made up problems just to get more money from me! Which after reading all of these reviews, I wouldnt be surprised by! I read the reviews before I went, and I thought "But the first appointment is free. It cant be THAT bad!" No, it is that bad. Please, please, please, if you read all of these reviews, dont go! I am so upset at being treated like a child and being verbally abused by their staff! One pleasant person doesnt excuse the actions of everyone.

Though the staff is friendly I will not return. The initial exam was just x-rays and such. I needed a crown fixed and they found many cavities which surprised me since a year and a half before during an exam at another dentist (who did the original crown) did not find any. They also said the old cavities I had should be replaced. I was told to sit with the finance person after to review the work and billing. First off I was told by their finance person what the billing would be for all the work as well as an electric toothbrush they recommended. I told them I did not want the toothbrush (for $150). The bill was going to be over $1500 for all the work and several visits. One my next visit, they replaced the crown and as I was leaving they presented me with the tooth brush. I told them I did not want it but they said I was already billed for it. I had at least 4-5 visits for all the work. Now, several months later, its painful to chew on one side and other teeth hurt when drinking something cold. I recommend staying away from this place. I should have known better than go to a "retail" dentist. On top of all that, I received a note in the mail that I was billed incorrectly and received a refund for over $500. Had they not audited my bill (I believe the main office did the audit not the actual location) I never would have known. What a dishonest office. Disgusting!
