I like riding my bicycle, no wait, I love riding my bicycle! I love being outdoors in the woods riding trails. However, for the past five years Ive not been able to ride due to a herniated disk and arthritis that left me with limited movement and pain. The thought of falling and doing more damage was all too scary so I hung up the bike. As a nurse, I at first followed the conventional medical model of spine care, rest, ice, ibuprofen and physical therapy. On bad days, when I had twisted the wrong way, bent to tie my shoe or attempted something more physical like lifting the trash barrel (wow) I paid for it and would be miserable often for days with pain and limited movement in my spine. Then my son, Chris a personal trainer and all round health enthusiast recommended I try chiropractic care. Why not, I had nothing to lose. In my first experiences with chiropractic care I did find some relief of my symptoms but continued to experience frequent exacerbations. I felt like I was walking a balance beam and became cautious of every move I made. This type of symptom based care though not bad was not getting to the root of the problem and I held the belief that with the right care, I could feel better. Then one evening I attended a presentation at Path of Life Chiropractic in Nashua, NH and met Dr. Amy Haas. Dr. Amy introduced me to "corrective chiropractic care" something very different from "symptom" based care. She explained that with "spinal corrective adjustments" proper exercise and a positive attitude, I would not only feel better, but return to those things I loved doing. AHA! At my first session, Dr. Amy conducted a comprehensive non-invasive spinal assessment using paraspinal thermography, surface EMG, digital radiography and a hands on assessment of my spine. Yup, I had some issues, like I didnt know that. Dr. Amy then developed an individual care plan for me and with confidence in myself to heal and in Dr. Amys abilities, we entered into a partnership to "get my spine feeling fine." Im 12 weeks into my program at POL that includes adjustments, exercise and progress, yep, I said progress! I feel better! I can see and feel it. I am sleeping better, I have more energy and I am riding the trails again with confidence and no discomfort or pain. Whats most remarkable is my recovery time. In the past a Saturday bike ride meant the rest of the weekend or maybe longer in recovery mode. Now, its a bike ride and "what are we doing next." So if youre feeling the way I was and ready to make a change, feel better and get your life back, then wind your way down to Path of Life. Oh, you might run into me there, Ill be the well "adjusted" guy wearing a smile and a bike helmet!

Dr. Amys holistic brand of care is extraordinary. Her care is tailored for each patient to achieve maximum benefit, and optimum health. Before I met Dr. Amy I was afraid to see a Chiropractor. From working at a desk all day, for many years I have developed an improper curve in my "c-spine" and it causes me pain in my shoulders and neck. Im sure many, many people can relate to that. After telling Dr. Amy of my negative experience and describing my fears, she assured me we could do many different types of adjustments that will not only be more comfortable for me, but are extremely effective in correcting the curve and alleviating the pain. I have been very pleased with my treatment and I am able to do simple things again with out the pain. This was all very exciting to me but I was even more thrilled to learn that chiropractic care, when done by a caring chiropractor like Dr. Amy, CAN ALLEIVIATE MUCH MORE THAT BACK PAIN! Because every nerve in the body receives messages through the spinal cord, many afflictions like Anxiety, Asthma and ADD, back pain and foot pain, migraines, headaches, insomnia, and depression, and so much more can be helped with chiropractic care. Dr. Amy began treating my daughter for anxiety. Yes, chiropractic care for anxiety. After an extensive and thorough evaluation, Dr. Amy discovered the root of the problem and she began treatment. Since then my daughters anxiety level have be brought back to normal for a teenager! It is a remarkable and joyful change. She is once again able to sleep well, and she has the additional bonus of improved swimming skills. While she was being treated my other daughter thought it might be helpful for her to help her stay focused and possible improve her archery skills. She is now consistently on the honor roll and has recently moved up a level in her archery program. I have been on an incredible journey with Dr. Amy, and I am so grateful to have her on my team to help my body achieve maximum health.

To put things simply Dr. Amy has changed my whole world. Before starting chiropractic care in the fall of 2012, I had been suffering through depression, insomnia, severe mood/mental health issues and of course constant back, neck and hip pain. And eventually I started becoming increasingly sensitive to small bumps and scrapes. (Dr. A put a name to it, Hyperalgesia!) This had been going on for about 7 years. Mind you I am only 19. I knew this wasnt right, dealing with all of this at such a young age isnt normal. Like most people I went straight to a doctor. They put me through just about every test you could think of and always told me the same thing: Youre fine, we cant find anything wrong, but here take this pill or that pill. That didnt fly with me. It wasnt fixing the problem. I was stuck home every day, all day....in bed, hiding away from life. What kind of life is that? Then I stumbled across Path of Life Chiropractic... I loved the fact Dr. Amy has a natural approach to things. She was definitely a lot different than any other doctor I had ever seen. She focuses on your problems and ways to correct them, not mask them. She explains whats going on and works out a plan WITH you. I instantly knew things were going to change and that I was finally in the right hands. After only ONE MONTH of adjustments with Dr. Amy my life has done a complete 180. My anxiety and depression is going away, my migraines are gone, all my pains are gone and I have so much energy! I wake up happy and ready to start my day. My hyperalgesia has diminished greatly and I can finally exercise again. That is a big one for me, before care I was struggling to do 5 minutes of any kind of exercise and now I lose track of time and can spend a whole day at the gym!! Im not trapped anymore in the rut that was holding me back from a normal, happy and healthy life. Words cant even express my thanks to Dr. Amy and her team!

I met Dr. A and Christine at a womane expo about 6 months ago. Honestly, I was not really thinking too much of it, but she had a cool looking machine which measured something so I thought what the hell. I got on it...and BAM instantly Dr. A knew there was an alignment problem with my spine, shoulders, and even a 10 lb weight differential on my feet. It was there that I scheduled some time to go in and check out what The Path of Life was all about. A few weeks later I was meeting with Dr. A. She did some preliminary tests and took measurements of my spine and some data points. I was so impressed because I immediately knew I was not just getting my back "cracked" I was getting a true medical review on how my body works. Dr. A sat me down and went over my results, and then discussed with me a "Care Plan" to get my spine back on track. I am young, but have been in several severe auto accidents, one which resulted in a year of PT, and honestly, I never truly felt like I had recovered. In the 6 months I have been seeing Dr. A I have had ZERO neck and shoulder pain, I have been told by family and friends that my posture is better, and they can "feel" the difference when they hug me. I love going to Dr. A and the Path of Life because not only am I getting my spine adjusted, I am able to speak with her on other medical questions and concerns, and she is such a wealth of knowledge. It is so refreshing to have a medical professional who takes the time to understand my body, how it works, and adjust the care accordingly, other than the good old "one size fits all" mentality. Going to see Dr. A has become a part of my life, ensuring my spine is cared for...to ensure I am healthy and capable of living and adventuring to all my bodys potential! My WHOLE LIFE has changed and I am so thankful!
