Disappointed to say that we will no longer return to Southeast Animal Clinic. We have been customers there for 5 years for grooming, vet, and boarding services. We have also referred many, many people to this vet clinic. My two elderly dogs passed away last year, but this year we rescued a heartworm positive dog from Nates Honor Animal Rescue. When you adopt a heartworm-positive dog from Nates, you pet is under the care of Nates vet until the pet is healthy. We had taken our new pet to be groomed at SAC, and they were aware (through records we provided them) of his heartworm treatments and that we had adopted him through Nates. Nates had specifically told us to make sure we keep our pet on Heartgard, so when we ran out of our Heartgard supply, our initial instinct was to go to SAC to purchase some for him. After all, this had been our family vet for the past 5 years. They refused to sell us the Heartgard, stating that we had to bring our dog to be seen and tested for heartworm THERE, even though we had records saying he was being treated for heartworm through Nates. Our new pet was on track to be a patient with SAC just as soon as he was released from care through Nates, but not now. We will most definitely be looking for a new vet for our dog. Im still completely blown away by their lack of concern, and I will be sharing my experience with others.

I have gone to other local vets and had not so great experiences. The clinic is very aware of my elderly dogs needs and special conditions and there is never a hard sell to buy their products. I get reminders of shots and the Dr. Bassett has even made me aware of the new law that allows for less frequent vaccine and this is especially important with my elderly dog that doesnt tolerate them well. He is gentle and kind with my animals as is his staff. I also utilize their grooming staff and find they take excellent care and time with my pets and they come home happy and looking great. The price is reasonable but can be difficult to get appointment times. I have gone to chain locations in the past and had my dog traumatized from the experience and once even a skin infections developed from dirty grooming techniques. I have never had these problems at Southeast Animal Clinic and they even have Saturday hours which is great since I work full time.

Dr. Bessette nearly killed my dog. I took my German Shepard to Southeast Animal Clinic for years. My boy started to cough and lose weight and had a lack of energy. Dr. Bessette treated him with antibiotics and when he did not improve, basically threw his hands up. I took him to another veterinarian (Thank God) and he immediately rushed my beloved dog into his office and began to treat him for congestive heart failure. I felt like a fool allowing such poor medical attention to almost kill my boy. My dog was put on a few medications and lived 5 more years in reasonably good health. I am sorry I ever took my animal to Southeast Veterinary Clinic and would NEVER suggest anyone use their services. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!!!

Ive been here twice now, once with one of my dogs and the second time with the other. Both times they were getting their annual vaccines and their yearly check-up. The first visit we met with the relief vet because Dr. Bessette was out of town. The visit went fine, but when we met with Dr. Bessette with our other dog the visit was FANTASTIC. I used to work at a vet clinic in Georgia, so there are a lot of things that I look for. He was very through in his exam and did an amazing job explaining things about the visit and medications. He also was very sweet with my pet, which is very important! I will continue to bring my dogs in anytime that Dr. Bessette is working. His staff is very sweet too!

I am very pleased with this clinic, they attended my aunt and her new puppy, her puppy had a very strong itching problem, that poor dog had no life, day and night his body itched. Few Days before my aunt had gone to another clinic and they did not help. I told her to go to this clinic because I read good reviews on google and now we can write our own experience: Excellent attention from the girls at the reception to the Vet, they are very friendly and professional. I absolutely recommend them!!!! The best of all: I am very happy to hear that the puppy is much better and I am deeply grateful to Southeast Animal Clinic for all the help. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I have used Dr. Mark and his staff for 16 years. I have never had a more caring and compassionate vet. Dr. Mark always takes the time to explain everything that is happening with my pet and gives great detail about each illness. Over the years, he has treated 5 of my pets and never once have I ever had the slightest complaint. When I travel, I use his boarding care and I know I do not need to have one worry over my furry animals. I have a different vet for my parrot as Dr. Mark does not service birds. But for my furry animals, I would not dream of going anyplace else. To me, and my animals, he is a Godsend.

I have been to several other vets in the Bradenton and Sarasota area and I am happy to call this "my vet". Dr. Bessette is always very professional and always takes the needed time with me and my pets. Brenda is also a huge part of why I love this clinic. She cares about animals in a way that I feel is lacking at other vets. She is not emotional detached from the care and love of animals. She truely has a big heart.

Ive brought my dogs to Dr. Bessette for many years and he and his staff (Jill) helped us bring our elderly dogs to a dignified end. We now bring our latest canine family member to Dr. Bessette. Weve boarded our dogs at the Bed and Biscuit for years, and had very good experiences. Mark Bessette is professional and conscientious, and doesnt recommend expensive treatments if they arent warranted.

They truly saved Aspens life. She was a shelter dog with VERY bad heartworm... We did have to do the harsh treatments but they were truly awesome. Also, boarding with this is great. She always comes home clean after Ive been out of town!

Dr. Bessette took excellent care of our dog for almost 15 years. He was very compassionate when it came to the time when our pet was no longer able to comfortably continue. We really appreciated his help and compassion.

Great place! Love the Doctor and all the staff. Amanda the groomer is great! Love the convenience of being able to get all medical needs and grooming done in the same place! My pup is always happy when she leaves!
