2 months ago our Lab injured her tail while playing. There was dramatic swelling instantly but reduced to almost nothing after several minutes of inactivity. However, after several days there was noticeable inflammation around the base of her tail and butt. when we tried to make an appointment they said that they could not fit us in and we had to schedule. My husband took her in for the appointment where he was informed that lab Tail is perfectly normal and that the constant swelling was symmetrical (they did not believe the inflammation was real). Disregarding the fact that she had never had this happen in her entire life. Stating there was no need for an X-ray. They prescribed an anti-inflammatory (even though there was nothing wrong) and told us to let her play like normal. It worked greatly reducing her swelling and her tail did not bulge as much, while at play. Anti-inflammatory ran out swelling came back, so they prescribed more. We administered it took pictures to show them how bad the swelling would get while playing and expressed our concerns that they were treating symptoms and not healing the root problem. They stated we could have X-Rays done but that it was normal. We went to a different vet this past weekend and they were astounded that the another vet would state that swelling is common. The X-rays at this vet showed that there was trauma to the tail and hopefully the true healing process has begun. Although the techs at Braden river are great the lack of Knowledge and inexperience of the vets there is alarming and you should not bring your pet there if you love them as we do our baby.

I happened upon Braden River Animal Hopital when calling around the area to inquire about a tooth extraction for my 9 year old shepherd mix, and I cant be happier with my experience. From the first phone call, to the office visit, to the actual procedure each and every staff member exhibited nothing less than true professionalism. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Cambell and Janice. Dr. Campbell treated my dog as her own, even giving her kisses on the head. These two took the time to explain EVERYTHING and answered all my questions without making me feel as though I was wasting their time. I also appreciated the fact that this practice is not interested in cleaning out its clients pockets by offering unnecessary products and procedures. I had been quoted twice as much to have my dogs teeth pulled at my previous vet and was being told she needed to have one more tooth pulled than was actually necessary. It would have been very easy for them to go along with my previous vets recommendation to pull the second tooth and make extra money, however, as I mentioned before, this practice is run by true professionals and true advocats of your pets health and wellbeing. If your pets mean the world to you and you want the very best for them I would without reservation recommend Braden River Animal Hospital.

We have been taking our dogs to Braden River Animal Hospital since I discovered them by chance 6 years ago. We had a lab that was allergic to basically everything under the sun, and Dr Clekis did everything he could to figure out her triggers, reduce her symptoms and keep her comfortable. We also had a boxer that in January, at only 5 years old, was diagnosed with a heart condition. Dr Clekis, Dee and the rest of the staff were all super supportive and did everything they could to help prolong his life for as long and as comfortably as they could. When it came time to put our beloved boxer down, Dr Clekis stayed with us through everything, even though he was supposed to leave early that day, and Dee even took it upon herself to make a cast of his paw print for us. The staff always finds a way to fit us into the schedule when something comes up and anytime I call with a question, I either speak with a tech or Dr Clekis directly. I think at many vet offices, clients are just seen as a number, but at Braden River they truly care about your animals well being and they take the time to know whats going on with your pet and answer all of your questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet in the area!

I took my dog here on the recommendation of a family member who has used B.R.A.H. for several years and has been very satisfied with the treatment her dogs received. When I called, I was able to get a same-day appointment with "Dr. John" Pierce. I live in a neighboring county and the drive was an hour and 15 minutes each way, however I was willing to give them a shot as they had come highly recommended. We arrived for our appointment and were immediately acknowledged by the front desk staff. After a short wait, we were taken into the exam room by our vet tech, Janice, who went above and beyond the call of duty assisting us get records transferred from another vets office. During the exam, we found Dr. Pierce to be not only highly knowledgeable in veterinary medicine, but also very compassionate in dealing with pet owners. He was able to make a correct diagnosis and thoroughly answer all of our questions on our first visit. When Dr. Pierce is in the room, you will have no doubt that you have his undivided attention and never in a hurry to rush you. If your pet is sick, do yourself a favor and make an appointment to see Dr. Pierce. You and your pet will be glad you did.

I have had to visit these guys for both of my pups at around 3am both times. The first thing I love about them is the doors are locked when you get there and a tech has to come let you in. That late at night, it is such a great feeling to be in a secure place and have my pet focused on. I have had the pleasure at both visits to being helped by the tech, Joey. He genuinely cares about you and your animal which relieved a lot of the nerves I have expierenced with my fur babies. They are clean, quick, and efficient. Each Vet I saw took the time to explain what was going on with my animal and a plan to proceed with. Each time I have gone, I have left feeling confident of the diagnosis and treatment plan. The most impressive part of my visit was the next day Joey called to check the status of my dogs. That means more to me than they may ever know. 5 stars doesnt do them justice. I would highly recommend them to anyone with an emergency regardless of where thier location in the Sarasota/Bradenton area is. Thank you all so much! My pups thank you too!

We had taken our cat to Bayshore Animal Clinic. And we were going to get him antibiotics so he could have his tooth pulled, due to periodontal disease. The dark haired Vet. Just went ahead and pulled his really bad tooth without antibiotics, numbing or painkiller. And she also pulled a healthier looking tooth the same way. So after a day of taking antibiotics and dental cleaning fluid at home, he became extremely ill. Not eating, drinking, or going to the bathroom. Not wanting to move at all. The Vet was really rough before pulling his tooth and after in handling my kitty. We brought him to Braden River Animal Hospital, to have him put to sleep. Dr. Clekis and staff was extremely friendly and informative. We had a conference with Dr. Clekis. And he offered to give our cat a second chance, by boarding him, giving him vitamins, and food and other care. But sadly, he was diagnosed with diabetes and periodontal disease. We had to put him to sleep. :"[ I know the staff and Doctor did all they could for our beloved kitty.
