Dr. Susanna was the kindest vet I have ever met. She saved my cats life! I have previously taken one of my dogs to Ellenton Animal Hospital with positive results. This was the first time that I have taken our cat. My 1st visit in with Fuzzy I was seen by Dr. Dana. That visit was frustrating and the staff that day particularly one gal in the front office was less than helpful and gave me misinformation. The next day Fuzzy was worse. I figured that I was just going to have to put him to sleep because I could not afford additional tests or taking him to the emergency hospital that the woman at the front dest at the first visit said likely I would have to do. I felt so bad that I was making him suffer. I called and the staff on Saturday said bring him in and lets evaluate him again before you have him euthanized. When I went back the second time I saw Dr. Susanna. She was amazing. She said that she could give my cat medicine that we could treat for without the blood work. She gave my cat fluids from an IV and had one of her staff feed Fuzzy some foods. Dr. Susanna knew I did not have a lot of money and was VERY generous with me. All of the staff in the office that Saturday 3-17-2012 were awesome. Less than 12 hours from taking the medication, Fuzzy was up and going to the bathroom and wanting to eat. 36 hours after our visit, he is pretty much back to his old self. I am convinced that if Dr. Susanna had not helped me that Fuzzy would of past by now. Its nice to see that there is someone that cares and is willing to help. Thank you Dr. for taking care of by beloved cat!

I have gone to the EAH a few times for small things with my mothers cats and my dog when I first moved down here (shots). The other day, I had to go for a completely different reason. One of my furbabies was extremely ill. Unfortunately, after speaking with the vet, the only option was to put her to sleep (I am sorry I do not remember the gentlemans name, I was very upset). The compassion, care and kindness the staff not only showed me, but my dear Georgie Girl in her final moments took my breath away. They let me stay with her as long as I wanted, didnt rush me out and also gave me no problem when I told them my aunt in New York City was paying for it. They called her up and made what was one of the hardest days of this year, much less painful. I want to Thank the staff for being so wonderful. I would recommend to anyone!!

Great, caring, and professional vets office. After seeing my same vet in Oviedo since 1991, I was really apprehensive about switching. My boy is an 18 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd named Quinn. For the last year I have traveled with Quinn back to Central Florida to see his vet. Now due to his health, I am unable to. Upon calling, I was greeted by Kelly. She made me feel like she understood...you could just tell not only does she care, but so does the whole office. My first visit was with Dr. Walstad. He got on the floor with my boy and it was then I knew the compassion this office has for our forever pet friends. Highly recommend these guys to anyone with veterinary needs. I wish the rating could be NEGATIVE stars. Dr Suzanne is the worse vet I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Dr. Dana is "ok". If you love your pet, INSIST on Dr. Dana if you feel you must go to this office. Dr. suzanne doesnt listen to a word you say, cant wait to be done with you and disappears without a word. She gives no value to your concerns about your four-legged child yet we as animal parents know our pets and recognize when there is a problem. I hope she some day needs a Dr. And gets one with her abilities! As I write this, I am searching for a new Vet, as I will not be taking my TWO new puppies to these vets.

never coming-back
Waited and left after nearly an hour past my scheduled appointment due to the staff prioritizing non-emergency walk-ins. During the hour, there was multiple dogs bodily fluids all over the floor of the lobby and no one even cared to clean up the biohazard. Yet staff will gladly reprimand you for leaving your upset dog in a portable kennel when you are just trying to keep your dog from getting a disease. Most uncourteous and disrespectful staff that disclose personal information such as my name, phone number, and home address to the entire waiting room. I will never return here and I feel for any pet that has to be treated by this vet.

We went to Ellenton Animal Hospital after moving to the area. Absolutely love the care we received from Dr. Dana. Spent the time to get to know our dog and us and made recommendations on treatment of seasonal allergies that didnt involve medication. Also recommended an alternative to dental cleaning surgery that actually works and is sprinkled on the food daily. Ive never been to a vet that recommends alternatives that are in the best interest of the pet and does not involve a procedure or a medication. Wonderful to have this type of an approach. Very happy with our decision to come here.. Recommend this facility absolutely!

I will never run out of nice things to say about this Vet, or the people who work there. My family has been customers of theirs for the last 20 years. When we needed a second opinion we were referred to a specialist who helped with the final decision to amputate versus euthanize. Her amputation there went smoothly, and there was always someone friendly to answer the phone with my relentless questions and concerns. Dr. Susanne and staff always take such great care of both of us and I continue to patronize them with any and all animals I have. Thank you always!! - Erin & Sophia

They have been great helping our GSD she had so many health & skin issues and continues to be on medication because of it, HARLEY GIRL loves going there because she knows the staff are all so friendly and will love on her every chance they can. HARLEY GIRL was on death row at MDAS (Miami). A rescue dog who was being over bred by previous owners then when she got to a certain age they dumped her at the high kill shelter. She is such a great German Shepherd Dog! Thanks to Ellenton Animal Hospital you can see her improvements on Facebook / MissHarleyGirl

We have seen and been disappointed in many vets before. But this office is great. Weve seen all of the doctors and them and staff are so nice and caring and really seem like they do everything they possibly can for your pets. Theyve seen our cats a few times and have always gave the best possible care. Then we had to put one of our cats down and they sent us a sympathy card hand signed by the office staff. They really know how to make the impossible process of putting a furry family member down just a bit easier. Theyre the best Ive seen.
