The name for this review is "NOT ALL SMOKE AND MIRRORS" Back in July I really aggravated my carpal tunnel in my right wrist. Suffered for two weeks hoping it would improve, but it didnt. Then my wife showed me a coupon for Back & Neck Center of Brick for a free analysis and this new, to me, cold laser treatment. Having used 3 or 4 different chiropractors over time for lower back problems and having some success I decided to go and check them out. Heck, they were only 4 minutes away, if I get both lights red! So I went with my wife to check them out, and what they had to say was interesting enough to sign up for the treatment. When I started, I was barely able to use my right hand. After 4 weeks I was having second thoughts. I was a little better but not sure if the treatments were working or was it just the result of not using my hand. I had thoughts of throwing in the towel and just getting the surgery as my brother told me to do. Well, since we had paid our portion of the cost in full up front, my wife said to hang in a little longer. Well after two more weeks and a restful weekend, when I showed up for my Monday appointment, and like at the beginning of every appointment, they asked how I was feeling, I truly answered that I had no pain and was feeling better than I had for months. Since they have also been working on my lower back, only because of my past history that we initially discussed, not because I complained of my normal level of daily lower back pain, they have also been addressing that. So a month later, this past Monday, when they asked how I was feeling, I had to answer better than I have in years! Not weeks, not months, but YEARS! During that initial meeting where they explained the cold laser treatment, they said it works for about 75% of the people. Well it certainly worked for me! The staff here is very friendly, the operation is smooth running and wait times are minimal. Would I recommend them, absolutely! The down side? Im moving to FL in January and my 4 minute drive, well gets complicated. Thank you to everyone at Back and Neck Center of Brick. You have been great and will definitely be missed. Thank you, Glenn

I have been a patient of Back and Neck Chiropractic for over 1/2 a year now and have been seeing them for lower back issues, which included herniated discs and various other nerve issues that limited my ability to walk or move around in general. Before coming to them, I had been doing physical therapy and even had several shots to relieve the inflammation and constant pain I was experiencing. After each attempt to relieve the pain, I was so disheartened because although I felt some relief, I was far from feeling better. Being in my mid-20’s, it was overwhelming to think I would have to live like this for the rest of my life. Upon a recommendation from my doctor, I set up an appointment with Dr. Koziol. From the start, Dr. Koziol was able to ease my mind. He made me change my focus on how bad I was feeling then, and shift my perspective on how great I would feel, in only a short time. He thoroughly explained every step of the healing process and was very optimistic in helping me. His associate, Dr. Flynn, was just as kind and concerned about my recovery and has been an integral part of my healing process as well. Every member of the staff is pleasant to talk to which is not common among doctors offices. I have been made to feel like a unique individual, not “just a patient”. I now feel like I have an active part in my own life, and I will not just watch it pass me by. I have a feeling of hope that I did not have before and know that it will only get better from here. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am without them.

What an awesome staff, and I mean awesome! Would this be my reason for coming to the Back and Neck Center of Brick, this to me is a bonus. The last two mos. prior to meeting Drs Koziol and Hook, I was experiencing numbness, along with pins and needles radiating from my right elbow, down to my pinky. My neurologist suspected carpal tunnel syndrome but the EMG proved him wrong. He then sent me to an Ortho surgeon who quickly diagnosed me with a pinched ulnar nerve. Meanwhile Im worsening, and started diagnosing myself (nurses are the worst) with a stroke. We went to the ER and was diagnosed with a neuropathy following a normal CAT scan of brain. I was back to Googling my symptoms when I came across The Back and Neck Center of Brick. After a thorough exam by Dr. Koziol, he immediately explained what was happening in my neck, and what had to be done. I had my first adjustment, along with massage and cold laser therapy. As I was loading the dishwasher that evening, I noticed there was a bit more strength in my right hand that hadnt been there in awhile. I asked my husband if its possible my treatment my earlier treatment could be helping that quick, he replied "absolutely". Five weeks later, 2-3 treatments a week, I have 90% feeling back from my elbow down to my pinky. What a relief to know I wasnt dying lol. I highly recommend the Back and Neck Center of Brick. Even if youre not ready to make an appointment, give them a call. Nicole (such a sweetheart), will explain all the center has to offer. -Francine

Dr. Koziol, Dr. Hook and their chiropractic team are like well oiled machines with great personalities. I was somewhat apprehensive of my visit since I have not sought the expertise of the chiropractic community in a very long time and deciding on a dr. without any personal recommendations I must say my overall experience has been extremely positive. Im glad to have made the right choice. After my initial visit Dr. Koziol did a follow up call later that evening wanting to know how I was doing. Needless to say I was very impressed. Subsequent visits with Dr. Hook were equally impressive. Seeking feedback from the patient was welcome and encouraged to enable Dr. Hook to provide the most appropriate treatment for/to her patient. Appointment scheduling was/is very efficient. Wait time upon arrival is/was minimal. From the office staff, to the chiropractic technicians to each Chiropractor --- the main focus and priority are the patients well being. The atmosphere is positive, friendly and professional without being stuffy and stiff. They honestly care and it shows. I have and will highly recommend this practice now and in the future, my experience has fully exceeded my expectations and thanks to this knowledgeable team Im back to feeling wonderful, my range of motion and flexibility back to normal. Great group of professionals!

MUSICIANS - GO TO BACK AND NECK PAIN CENTER FIRST FOR INJURIES. I am a serious guitar player who had hand and wrist problems that threatened My playing career. Playing my instrument requires small motor precision, which was jeopardized by the pain. I saw my family physician, obtained x-rays and took medication, all to no avail. I truly despaired that guitar was done for me. Dr. Pedersen helped me in the past for traditional spinal treatment, and thus I did not initially think of him - I wish I had. The Back and Neck Centers facility is state of the art, and after a short scan Dr. Pedersen diagnosed the problem. It wasnt my hand or wrist that were causing the pain (as my family physician thought), it was nerve impairment in my neck. The relief was immediate after the first treatment, and I was able to play guitar for the first time in weeks that night. It has not taken long at all for the subsequent treatments to take effect, and I am 99% back in action in just a few weeks, with only a few treatments to go. Now periodic follow ups should keep me playing for good. My insurance has covered the treatment. I cannot recommend Dr. Pedersen and the Back and Neck Center enough!
