My name is Maurice Mazyck and my life is the subject of a recent New York Times bestselling book, An Invisible Thread. The book tells the story of how, when I was 11 years old and panhandling on a New York City street in 1986, I met a woman named Laura Schroff who helped me see a better future for myself. Not long ago, Laura gave a speech at the Frisch School in New Jersey. She showed a video about the hardships in my life, and about how Laura and I are still friends 27 years after we met. The next time Laura went to the Frisch School, I went with her. I got to meet Talia Bardash, the young student who invited Laura to speak at the school. And I also got to meet her father, Dr. Jody Bardash. Dr. Bardash is a really good dentist, and he noticed I had a cracked front tooth. Then he surprised me by telling me he wanted to fix my tooth. I couldn’t believe he was offering to help me for free, just because of what a kind person he is. When I went to Dr. Bardash’s office I met the most professional staff you could ever meet. Dr. Bardash himself was so pleasant and so friendly, I forgot I was even in a dentist’s office. Dr. Bardash saw that my cracked tooth made me not want to smile, and he told me he was going to fix it. He performed a root canal (no pain at all) and made a partial tooth, and then he put in a crown and a porcelain veneer. It was a lot of work. But when he was done I had the most beautiful front tooth. When I looked in a mirror for the first time I could hardly believe I was looking at myself. I was so used to having to hide my broken tooth, but now I could smile the biggest, most beautiful smile. Dr. Bardash made it so I wasn’t afraid to smile anymore. I think Dr. Bardash did more than just fix my tooth. I think he performed a kind of miracle. I think Dr. Bardash performs a lot of little miracles every day. He gives people confidence in themselves, and he allows people to stop hiding who they really are. He brings a lot of happiness into the world. And if that isn’t a miracle, what is? I know I can’t ever thank Dr. Bardash enough for what he did for me, but I want to try anyway. He is a real philanthropist who cares about people and goes out of his way to help them. Like Laura Schroff, who helped me overcome a lot in my life, Dr. Bardash has a really big heart. I feel blessed to be able to say that I know him, and I feel honored to be able to call him a friend. And on top of all that Dr. Bardash is an amazing dentist with an incredible practice. Thank you, Dr. Bardash, for everything you did for me. I will never forget it. Maurice Mazyck February, 2014

6 pm, Im at the gym when using a barbell when WHACK! I slam the barbell against my tooth. Its late, I have no dental insurance, and Im panicking because Im a school teacher and tomorrow only be the second day of school. Frantically searching for a dentist open late, I find Dental Professionals of Fairlawn. I doubtfully give them a call, and to my surprise they tell me they can see me right away! I come in crying and freaking out but my dentist, Michelle, was SO friendly, relatable, and skilled at what she does she had me smiling in no time! She was so funny she had me laughing while she was working on my mouth! (not dangerously of course) I couldnt believe my eyes, in no time my tooth looked good as new and it was much more affordable than expected. I was so thankful to them for saving the day. I have never had a more pleasant experience at a dentists office before. Even the hygienists were wonderful and kind too! I truly am a happiest of campers!!! Heres a huge thank you to the best dentists!

I came into Dental Professionals of Fair Lawn for Juvederm with Dr.Smilo. I was a little skeptical in the beginning because for the first time I was going to have a facial filler done by a dental professional, not a plastic surgeon as was my usual practice. Dr.Smilo instantly put me right at ease and all my fears went away. His touch was so gentle, the needle didnt hurt at all. He knew exactly where to place each shot filling my wrinkles and lips perfectly. The end results were very natural, and made me look easily five years younger. To add to my pleasant experience at Dental Professionals of Fair Lawn, Dr.Smilo is charming, witty, focused and considerate. He always made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure with wonderful end results. Thank you Dr.Smilo!

This will compete an earlier review that was accidentally cut off mid-stream: Dr. Bardash is a consummate professional devoted to his healing craft. He assists with a warm and confident manner. His care and sensitivity to a patients potential pain is impressive. He analyzed the particular problem that needed immediate care and quickly came up with a solution that solved the matter at hand. But he also, creatively and artfully, found an answer to a different, longstanding dental issue I had not even come in for, nor thought could be ameliorated. And all this was done in forty five minutes from start to finish. His assisting staff made me feel welcome and calm, explaining the home care necessary after the procedure. Thank you Dr. Bardash and staff.

My only frustration with a 5 Star rating system is that cant give 6 stars to Dr Bardash and his team. My dental needs were quite extensive requiring multiple implants and crowns. After my initial consultation, I felt I found the right dentist in Dr Bardash to do this work. My lasting impression only confirms I made the right choice initially. My overall experience has simply been exceptional. The combination of skill and compassion is unsurpassed in my experience. I cant thank Dr. Bardash and his team enough for giving back to me a beautiful smile and an overall boost in my professional confidence. I would strongly recommend this dental team. I will not go anywhere else for my dental needs.

I have been a patient here for well over 20 years and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this office. As a matter of fact, I just sent my boyfriend there for a second opinion on his dental situation, and he too was very pleased with the overall experience. Dr. Bardash (my main dentist) and his staff are awesome...prompt, professional, courteous and, most importantly, trustworthy. Ive never been given poor advice or had a procedure recommended that was not necessary (and I know this per second opinions from specialists, which he actually encouraged). Two thumbs up.
