Im in my 40s and hadnt been to a dentist in over 25 years because I was so terrified despite no recollection of any horrible past experiences - I just didnt like going. My gums were swollen, bleeding and there was so much plaque on my teeth I was sure a jackhammer would be needed to get rid of it all plus I thought I would need to be knocked out cold before any work could be done... After constant nagging from family - I took the first steps in trying to locate a dentist that specialized in sedation dentistry... Just like you may be doing I did a search on the internet and Dr. Romanos name popped up - after reading all the reviews I decided to give a call. When I called for my first appointment I was crying like a baby and the receptionist must have said "We have a live one here" with how I must have sounded....During my initial consultation I still could not contain my fear and cried when meeting Dr. Romano -however he and his staff could not have handled me with any more compassion and care as they did - They were great!.... We laid out a treatment plan and scheduled my next appointment which included the start of a deep cleaning of my entire mouth and the most mild form of sedation "gas" to relax me.. I surprised myself when I actually showed up for that second appointment and even more so when there was no pain what-so ever during the cleaning - including the initial shot to numb me - I didnt feel a thing... After my 3rd visit my fears were subsiding and I DID NOT EVEN NEED THE GAS ANYMORE... Next up was about 7 cavities that had to be filled which were done in 2 appointments and totally pain free - no gas or other sedation... I spent days looking at my "new" clean mouth...What a difference! AND>>>> I cant believe I am even writing this but I AM NO LONGER AFRAID OF THE DENTIST!!! It really is a miracle and sometimes I still cant believe it myself that all my fears have gone... I have been back several times now for follow up "health checks" which have been excellent - no problems.. TRUST ME - my teeth will never go back to what they were... As I said - I found Dr. Romano just like you may be doing - reading these reviews... and all I can say is RUN dont WALK to make an appointment - I have already referred a friend who also hadnt been to a dentist in over 20 years and she too no longer has any fear of going and is also on her way to a healthy mouth..... The staff is very comforting and they really do everything to calm your nerves and make you visit as pleasant as possible... Again its truly a miracle that my fears are gone and really unbelievable what a difference 6 months make....

Simply Amazing! The best Dentist! Incredible! Professional Service! I broke a tooth on Saturday and was in a panic! I was leaving for a trip out of the country in a few days and now I had a broken tooth. I immediately called Dr . Sams office on Saturday and left a detailed message on his voice mail. I knew there was no way I would be able to leave on my trip with a broken tooth. After two nights of no sleep, I was really happy when the phone rang at 9:00 am on Monday morning. Dr. Sams staff understood the urgency of the situation and set up an appointment for 11:00 the same day. An hour later Dr. Sam called me personally. He asked me if I could come in at 2:30 instead of 11:00 am to ensure that he would have enough time to make the necessary repairs to my tooth. Ive never had a dentist call me personally, to discuss changing an appointment. I was impressed! After my exam he explained that I would need to have a crown and cap made for the tooth. I was still thinking that I still might not be able to get it done before leaving for my trip. He uses State of Art Dental Equipment. He was able to personally make the crown and cap onsite while I waited, no need for another appointment. WOW! I have never experienced treatment like this before. Other Dentists would require that you go back for multiple visits for a crown and cap. One appointment and done? Thats incredible! During my 2 hour wait in the exam room I relaxed and enjoyed his flat screen TV. His staff was wonderful, very professional. I felt so at ease knowing that my tooth would be repaired and I would be home in 2 hours to finish packing for my trip. Thank you Dr. Sam and your fantastic Staff. I recommend Dr Sam, to anyone who wants the best in Dental Care - Im very happy I have a Dentist who truly cares about his patients. Ill be back. JC Gero Jr.

I can honestly say that my experience with Dr Romano and his staff was so far beyond any other experience I have had at prior dentists (4 in my case) that comparisons just dont make sense. Going to the dentist is not a favorite activity for me (is it for anyone?), and I hadnt had a regular check-up in several years. My wife had gone to Dr Romano in the past for sedation dentistry work, and strongly urged me to go when I recently chipped a tooth. Since my visit I have actively been recommending him to co-workers, friends and family...and I am very choosy when it comes to what recommendations I make to others. The staff was warm, engaging, and very competent. All throughout my visit, I had a feeling of being taken care of. There was a clear mind-set and focus on my comfort and experience, and the staff had many solutions to handle any discomfort, pysical or otherwise...some so common sense that I cant imagine why other dentists havent used these techniques before. The capabilities at the office are cutting edge, with amazing technology that was used to enhance my experience; showing me real-time images (even in 3-D!) so that Dr. Romano could explain what was going on in ways I could see and understand. One small example of how skilled they are...in advance of the repair work I needed on my chipped tooth, I didnt even realize that I was being numbed! I was actually amazed. Simply said, not only was my experience and the expertise of care I received second to none, but I truly wish that other businesses and professionals I come into contact with had even a fraction of the client focus that Dr. Romano and his staff clearly value. Perhpas the best praise I can give is that I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever about returning for my next visit.

I have been a patient of Dr. Romanos for nearly 20 years, with nothing but positive experience, despite coming to him with need for significant work. Thinking I might spot a relevant issue that had been overlooked in other patient comments-- prior to composing this short Google+ post, I read those already online. What I found was exceptional, well deserved, nearly uniform praise, leaving virtually no stone unturned. The only complaint being a single patients gripe with respect to an insurance office paperwork misunderstanding/dispute. How is it even possible that a dental practice can be so well run? I mean, Im 70, and no other business or agency in my lifes experience has been that free of legitimate criticism. Unfortunately, Dr. Romanos practice cant be easily replicated; thus, no longer living in Morris county, Im now forced to travel some distance to Madison. But his office is a pleasant, invigorating, little more than a mile walk from the train station, so one cant complain about the location. And from my professional experience in biomedical engineering, though not specifically with dental instrumentation, I think his continually evolving practice, and ongoing advanced study has sustained an exceptionally well chosen balance of the latest modern technology, while avoiding unproductive gadgetry. --------------
