I came to SB Animal Hospital to unfortunately put my dog down. When the doctor gave him the first injection on his bottom, he wasnt even on a bed, he was standing, so I kneeled to hold my poor dog who then clasped in my arms because this is what happens after the first injection and if I know this, the doctor is WELL AWARE. The doctor left the room for a good fifteen minutes so I sat on the floor with my dying dog, sobbing. When the doctor came back with the tech he asked the tech to help him pick up my dog and she complained (the tech) about her knees hurting...please keep in mind that my dog only weighed 51 pounds when he passed and I am 52 / pretty small and I could lift him alone. So THEY decided without ME that they would give him the final injection on his back paw on the FLOOR...yes my dog died on the floor...thankfully I was holding him in my arms and thankfully I brought with me a big towel to wrap him in because they did not supply us with anything, not even a bed. Once the doctor checked to make sure he was gone, they left the room. My husband and I picked up our dog and put him on the bed so he wasnt left on a floor dead. I cant tell you how insensitive this tech or doctor were. I could care less about her knees. I know when youre a tech you should be able to lift 70 pounds so she already is not capable of doing her damn job. This place sickens me. I will NEVER, EVER go back there again and its VERY unfortunate because they do have a few techs that are very nice there but after this horrible experience I will never go back and Ill go as far as I can with this story. My poor Rocco, RIP. My sweet boy passed on 2/5/2015 - please do NOT bring your animals to this horrible place.

This animal hospital is fantastic. We ended up here about 10 years ago when out vets office closed, and we cannot be happier. They are courteous on the phone, and in person at the front desk. They took very good care of our dog Farley, and Dr. Mitco performed a surgery on his side to remove a lump - our dog had very little downtime and no complications, even though it was in an area where there was a lot of muscle movement. Our dog loves coming to this vet, as Dr. Campadano and Dr. Coulter make it fun, and treat him just right. They also took very good care of our cat, who sufffered from renal failure, and did not hesitate to refer us to North Star when they saw that he needed intensive overnight care. A year later, when our cat passed in that emergency vets office, we received a sympathy card from SBAH. Their effort and compassion was a sweet surprise. We find the prices to be reasonable, appreciate their recommendation of supplements to keep our pets healthy (but without pressure), and never have any trouble making an appointment. I definitely recommend them.

The people are very friendly but I had a bad experience with my new puppy. I had to bring him to the office 4 times in less then 2 weeks for different symptoms. They kept assuring me it was due to common puppy problems and he will be fine. They kept changing his meds and I spent a lot of money between visits and meds. The last visit was because my puppy started twitching and drooling. They told me to stop his medication as it could be a reaction. By the time I got home he was in full seizures and foaming from the mouth. I rushed him to an emergency hospital where he tested positive for distemper virus and I had to euthanize him at 4 mos old. I feel after the multiple symptoms a red light should have went off instead of continually assuring me everything is ok.

Bad experience! Sat. Jan 28 2012 was our first and last appointment. Let me start by saying we never even got to see the vet. Our appointment was for 11:30 for yearly shots and to get our dog established with a vet since we are new to the area. after waiting 30 min. we were taken back to a room which was very dirty where we waited another 20 min. When my husband asked if they knew how much longer it would be we were told they would get to us when they got to us. I would have understood if they were dealing with emergencies but we were never informed, no one apologized. They just ignored us and and were very rude when we asked. At 12:30 we took our dog and walked out. Not a word was said to us.

First of all, let me praise the front desk staff and vet techs. They are very kind, compassionate and have a genuine concern for your animal. When I first brought my cat when she was in distress, someone rushed out right away to take her and treat her. I also cant say enough good things about Holly at the front desk, who was so very kind to my husband and I when we were trying to save our sick cat and eventually brought her in to make cremation plans when she passed away. They will do everything they can to make the process of caring for your animal or making arrangements when it dies as easy as it possibly can be. God bless you, Holly, for showing us such helpfulness in our time of need.

Unbelievable how AWESOME and caring they were when I had to put my yorkie to sleep. HOLLY at the front desk is a wonderful person!! Just speaking to her over the phone is what got me to bring Margarita. She told me how pleased I would be and she was absolutely right! Dr. Gabor Capodanno is a special doctor who handled Margaritas last moments with such care. His gentleness will always be remembered. He gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. After 13 yrs. with Margarita I could have not left her in anyone elses care. I thank you South Brunswick Animal Hospital from the bottom of my heart. Charlotte Jackson

My family has been bringing our cats (now 3), bird and dog to South Brunswick for over 8 years to see Dr. Cotler. The front desk has always been courteous and efficient; booking an appointment is never a hassle. Dr. Cotler always scoops up our pets and gives them a look over while scratching them and talking to them - you can tell he really loves animals. He answers all of our questions patiently and suggests things to help keep them healthy and happy. Our last visit there the office looked like it had been renovated - very clean, fresh paint - just great! We highly recommend it to everyone!

Ive never been to this vet but I saw a photo of Dr. Amy Mischel somewhere that she works for this animal clinic. I would give her 0 stars. She needs to go back to veterinary school. Im glad I switched vets. My cat is still with me, Thank you Lord over what Dr. Mischel did Im so grateful I still have my cat. Id never see Dr. Mischel again. No trust in her. :(!!!!!!!! Dr. Mischel injected my precious cat with predisine that affected her liver and now in 2015 Im watching my cat dying. Its so sad and all Dr. Mischels fault. Very upset with her.
