Patient. Attentive. Thorough. Hardworking. The PATH to recovery from a strained hamstring injury (aggravating a 40-year old sports injury that had left enough scar tissue to complicate recovery from my recent injury) was made easier and more comfortable by the friendly care and great treatment I received from Ralph Desiderio and his assistants at Summit Physical Therapy. I had been through physical therapy and other rehabilitative treatments on several occasions, but Id never been treated as well or as thoroughly as I was during my sessions at Summit Physical Therapy. Their facilities are bright, clean and comfortable. Their equipment is as good as it gets and well maintained. And it never hurt to have their steady music playlist - a great mix of classic rock and pop - match my own tastes, especially if "Stairway to Heaven" or "Born to Run" happened to come on while I was working on the elliptical trainer. They took care to assure that I was moving at a comfortable pace, so that my injury had sufficient time to properly heal and gain the strength and flexibility that I wanted. Their often-repeated mantra of "slow and controlled" underscored their desire to make me work through their recommended series of strengthening and flexibility exercises without feeling rushed. Thanks to their very reasonable and flexible scheduling arrangements, I always had access to the machines and equipment that I needed to use. UPDATED: Back for a second experience at Summit Physical Therapy, after having had rotator cuff surgery in December 2015 -- my first experience with any type of orthopedic surgery. My recovery has been complicated by a compressed nerve that couldve developed from having to sleep uncomfortably in a chair while keeping my shoulder and arm in a sling for two months after surgery; but through the care and attention Ive received at Summit Physical Therapy, Ive been able to regain most of my range of motion and Ive also been able to work through the nerve pain while strengthening my shoulder so that its stronger now than it was before my surgery. Just as Allstate Insurance Company claims that youre "in good hands" with them, I can continue to attest that youll be "in good hands" at Summit Physical Therapy.

From the moment I picked up the phone to inquire about services for my health issue to the day I finished therapy six weeks later, I was thrilled with Summit. The facility is new and spacious, housing state of the art equipment. Though most of the apparatus is openly visible, private areas are available when necessary. For someone who is concerned about cleanliness, I was extremely impressed by the way everything is continually sanitized. The facility is bright and cheery, as are the staff. Despite the pain you may be in, the therapists exude a positive, upbeat attitude which can’t help but make you feel better. Professionally speaking, the staff is awesome. You are treated with respect, care, and concern. Their knowledge of their subject and the compassionate approach in delivering therapy makes you trust them. My therapist explained and demonstrated exercises and assisted me when I wasn’t steady. In addition, he worked with my doctor and with my insurance company to assure optimal treatment for me. Obviously, I highly recommend Summit.

So- I was a skeptic. I had often heard of co-workers leaving work early for PT...A bad wrist, a sore back...Honestly, at the time I thought it was a good excuse for them to leave early or take a few hours in the afternoon off. I often wondered, what was it about PT that kept them going on a regular basis. Fast forward to September, I soon discovered what PT was all about due to a disc issue in my neck. My options were, manage the pain with ice and over the counter meds,try some prescribed meds that never seemed to work, or try PT to see how it goes. Obvious choice for me was the latter, and thankfully so. Tom, his staff, and the facility are all top notch. Tom has not only taught me the importance of strengthening the weak areas around my sensitive neck, but also how to better manage my symptoms. I am now a "believer" in the power of healing through PT. Summit is the way to go!!!

The facility is clean and well designed with all of the necessary equipment. The two Therapists Tom and Ralph are kind, considerate and most encouraging. They are well versed in the required therapy each patient needs. They explain their program prior to commencement. Patients are treated with respect. The support staff are excellent and everyone works as a team, giving the facility an atmosphere of friendliness combined with the necessary professionalism. It is the personal attention each patient receives, that makes this facility so outstanding. I received great care and a program was developed for me to use at home. I started at the facility with chronic neck pain, hardly able to turn my head without pain, now I can turn my head enjoy my day with little or no discomfort.

I have been going to Summit Physical Therapy & Sports Care Since September. When I arrived I couldnt turn my head to the left or the right without being in excruciating pain. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc. It is now January, and I have full range of motion in my neck. Tom was able to get my neck back to where I wanted it, and I had previously been in so much pain that I never thought Id move my head again. Physical Therapy is no joke. Tom and Ralph are two of the nicest guys, and even better physical therapists. Their assistants Eric, and Julie are also top-notch. I would recommend Summit Physical Therapy to anyone I meet.

This is by the far the best therapy I have ever received. As a lifelong klutz I have been to many different physical therapy places all over NJ. This is by far the best, the staff is attentive and caring, there is a lot of 1 on 1 time which really shows how much they care about their patients. They are very personable and really get to know you, by doing this they make the experience very pleasant and it shows they take an interest in you and not just seeing you as a job or dollar signs. If your in need of therapy and in the Middletown NJ area, look no further Colonial Physical Therapy is THE place to go!

Tom and Ralph are both great. They are accommodating in regards to your schedule and are both care about getting you back to 100%. Ive been going for over a month and my progress has been amazing. They really challenge you when they deem you can handle it. Ive been to other physical therapy offices and they tend to overbook. That never happens at this facility. There is always enough assistants to help with your therapy. All of the employees are fantastic. Thank you for pushing me every day and getting me back to a healthy lifestyle. 39 year old male John

Top of the line professional physical therapy facility and two top-notch physical therapists. Great individual time spent hands on with patients - extremely knowledgable, hard working and accommodating staff. You will feel at ease at Summit PT. In just a few months, severe pain and migraines from chronic neck, shoulder and lower back pain went away and I am back to regular activities, playing baseball and golf. I would recommend Summit PT to anyone, fantastic experience!

I moved to North Bergen a few years ago. So when my doctor told me I needed physical therapy I didnt know where to go for my treatments. I looked online and found this place. It looked like a friendly place to go and so I gave them a call. They accepted my insurance and said they could help me. They were great all around. I am feeling better and it didnt take long.
