During the week of Labor Day my family and I vacationed in Ocean Grove, NJ for five days. Late one evening while sitting out on our hotel rooms porch listening to the ocean waves, I very suddenly felt a foreign object in my right eye. Expecting that it was probably sand from my hair or a towel draped over the balcony above, I proceeded to try to wash it out with all the usual methods, but to no avail. The object became trapped far under my upper eye lid and would not come out. That evening I could not sleep well, as the pain of whatever the object was continued to wake me up throughout the night. When morning came and the object had still not cleared itself from my eye, I knew I needed to go somewhere for help, as this had happened many years prior. I considered the local urgent care, but felt they might not have the necessary expertise for an eye emergency. As such, I looked up local optometrists, as my own optometrist back home had once before removed some basement dirt from my eye. Del Negro and Senft in Neptune City was only a few minutes drive and opened the earliest in the morning of the local optometrists, so I decided to call them. The lady who answered the phone was very understanding and kind enough to offer to get me in right away. After arriving and filling out the necessary paperwork, I was taken back by a doctors assistant and seen by Dr. Wiedeman minutes later. Dr. Wiedeman quickly determined the location of the embedded object, apparently a small glass-like piece of sand, and went ahead to remove it from my upper eye lid. This of course is no easy task, especially as I do not wear contacts and have never been comfortable with anything or anyone touching my eyes, and also, as Del Negro and Senft is not my regular optometrist and I had never been there before. After removing the object, Dr. Wiedeman also took time to talk to me about my mild dry-eye syndrome and to suggested methods of coping with it. I am very grateful to Dr. Wiedeman and the staff of Del Negro and Senft for getting me in so quickly and taking the time to help. They definitely saved my vacation (and my familys) from becoming quite unpleasant. My wife and I were even able to salvage the day and proceed down to Cape May for the afternoon, which had been our plan prior to the object becoming lodged in my eye. Were I living on the upper part of the Jersey Shore, I would be very pleased to have Del Negro and Senft as my eye doctors. Thank you!

These people are thieves. I had a chalazion on my upper eye lid so I went to see Dr. Senft. I let him know that it existed for almost a year and that I had tried warm compress on it to no avail. He prescribed some antibiotic ointment and told me to try the warm compress again. When I went back 3 weeks later, he said... "I was almost positive it wasnt going to work but it was worth a shot. Unforntunately I am a bit scared to pierce the chalazion since it is near your tear duct. My associate Dr. Edison is a specialist though and he will take care of you." So I called for an surgery appointment with Dr Edison (Eatontown) and was told I had to go through another "consultation" even though the Senft office had faxed over their records. So in total I made 4 visits to two different doctors that were far from home requiring me to take off from work on those 4 days. All because they want to bill the insurance company and drive around in their AMG Mercedes. This is whats wrong with healthcare!

I am not rating the doctor because we never saw her. My husband and I booked what we were told were back to back appointments 3:00 and 3:30, we arrived at 2:50 to fill out necessary forms for new patients. After waiting 45 minutes I asked at the desk how much longer it would be before we see the doctor. She told me they were very behind ( which We would of appreciated being told when we arrived) but I was next, however my husband had 2 patients ahead of him after me! I asked how that was possible because we came together and had back to back appointments. At that point it was close to 4pm and we were out of there!! My question is, how many patients do they see in a half hour? Are appointments given every 10 minutes, way too factory like for us!

I was terrified to have cataract surgery. Dr. Senft was very understanding and supportive, allowing me to go forward with the surgery at my pace. Dr. Senft did a wonderful job taking care of me and my eyes. About a month after my first cataract removal, I was out of town and experienced some eye discomfort, which turned out to be a very minor problem, dry eye. However, during the examination the local ophthamologist mentioned to me that my cataract surgery was very well done. That was so good to hear. Thanks to Dr. Senft and all the staff at the Nepture office, especially Donna the surgical coordinator. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Went there as new patient yesterday with an emergency..BIG mistake! Dr Glatman gave me sample bottle of drop to use 3x a day for 3 days..whole little sample bottle only contains 3 drops! Then my rxs were never sent over to my pharmacy as I was told they were. Had to call the service after hrs to get a cover doc to send them. Then they were sent wrong! I wound up with 1 prednisone tablet for an rx calling for 1 tab each day for 3 days! Comedy of errors! And still have the same swollen eyes. 145.00 later I have to see another doctor elsewhere that knows what they are doing! Will never step foot in this practice again!

Dr. Senft was very compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. He was able to test my eyes to tell me that lasik was an unsafe and unhealthy option for me although another doctor at another practice tried to "sell me" on it. He also was able to fine tune my contacts to get a brand that worked better for me. He also is always available to answer questions and is never in a hurry to rush out his patients. He has amazing bedside manner.

In the middle of a blizzard I decided to mount a tv with the off time I now had. Long story short, I got wood debris in my eye, so I called to schedule an appointment. I didnt expect anyone to pick up but they were there and told me to come in right away. Everyone is very knowledgeable, helpful, and extremely professional. Dr. Senft did an amazing job. I highly reccommend this office to everyone I know.

We have been patients of Dr. Del Negro for over ten years now and have been extremely satisfied with the care and concern of his service. He is always considerate and very thorough with the examination and explanation. We trust him and follow his instructions for any corrective treatment. We have found him a perfect gentleman and his extra ordinary pleasant demeanor. The practice is very professional.
