After reading the reviews I just had to write my opinion on this doctor & I agree with those who love her. My dog began to suffer from really bad skin allergies & ear infections about 3 years ago. My husband & I took her to our vet who placed her on various medications. When the medications did not help he recommended RDV. On our first visit she did recommend my dog have an allergy test to determine what she was specifically reacting to. We never felt that we were forced to have the testing done, which would cost $2000, but it included my dog going under anesthesia, coming up with the specialized combination for my dogs allergy shot, & the initial rounds of allergy shots (about a few months worth). Of course we felt the same way anyone would, that this was expensive & its not like everyone has that amount of money to spend. We asked for what our options were & the other option was the medication. Our dog went on the medication which helped her tremendously. Before we left we asked if later down the road we can test her, because we do want what is best for all our pets & knowing what is causing the reaction to your pet can really help. She said of course so my husband & I discussed it, & decided 6 months later (once we had saved up for it) to have her tested. Now she goes once a year for a check up & we have better control of her allergies. You also need to realize that this is a specialist not a regular vet & just like any specialist (even for people) you are going to pay more. We love this doctor & her staff. They are great at explaining what is going on with your pet, the options you have at treatments, & are wonderful with the way they treat your pet.

I had the good fortune of finding Dr. Rhodes after my dog, Lilly, had suffered horribly for months from a mysterious and undiagnosed condition, and after I had spent thousands of dollars on diagnostics and treatments that couldnt identify the problem and simply didnt work. Within minutes of meeting and examining Lilly, Dr. Rhodes was able to diagnose her with an unusual immune disorder. And within days of starting the treatment course Dr. Rhodes prescribed, Lilly was on the road to recovery. Lilly will require lifelong treatment, and I am thrilled that Dr. Rhodes and her staff will provide that care. We have been treated with nothing but respect and compassion in her office. The staff is warm and helpful, and the office responds swiftly to inquiries and prescription requests. Dr. Rhodes is unfailingly attentive to Lilly and patient with my endless questions. And she is the one doctor Lilly loves to see. The prices are commensurate with most general veterinary fees, and, in my opinion, quite modest for a specialist of Dr. Rhodes caliber. Not once have I felt an unnecessary procedure or medication has been pushed on me or my dog. Treatment has been sensible and affordable, and -- most importantly! -- tremendously effective. Dr. Rhodes brought my dog back to life. As for the negative reviewer here, I hope she has found a diagnosis and treatment that heals her pet and suits her pocketbook. But the suggestion that Dr. Rhodes has acted out of self-interest and personal greed is inconsistent with everything I have experienced in her office, and to me is simply ludicrous.

We just had our initial visit to this clinic to try to resolve the underlying causes of our Golden Retrievers chronic ear infections and dandruff. From the first contact to make the appointment and our first visit, we are highly satisfied with the compassion of Dr. Budgin and the thoroughness of her examination. The clinic is spotless and organized, the staff professional and polite. It will take several strategies and courses of treatment, including some expensive allergy testing, food trials etc but we hope to arrive at a source of our dogs miserable condition. Its a relief to see a specialist, who sees this type of condition on a daily basis, rather than a general vet who sees a broad array of various illness in animals, but cant always address more chronic illnesses that dont respond to the typical treatments. This is a Dermatologist and we are grateful to have found one who is both knowledgable, approachable and highly attentive to both the needs of our pet and of us. While we love our regular vet, this is a necessary "next step" to really fine tune what is going on with her ears and skin condition. Both the medications and the treatment plan are different than we have tried so far. We feel it is a more specific approach and hope it will yield good results for our dog.

I LOVE Riverdale Veterinary Dermatology! Grace, our Yorkie, was suffering for most of her life with reoccurring scabbing (seemingly coming from under the skin). Other vets said it was a food allergy: loading up my credit card with expensive antibiotics, shampoo, mousse and reeking havoc in my search for a food which would not leave her in agony. She was in so much pain, I was broke and felt so guilty for not being able to find a resolution. Then... I decided to try Riverdale. Dr. Radwanski knew immediately what Graces issue was, confirmed it via microscope and Grace immediately stopped degrading and started to heal! Cassandra, the Vet Tech, is amazing! The meds and shampoo Grace was on were less costly, the routine was much easier and they did not try to guilt me into buying anything that was unnecessary. Grace is now the happy dog she was meant to be. Thank you Riverdale Veterinary Dermatology, Dr. Radwanski and Cassandra!

@Lita, You state: "And just for the record Mr/Mrs Hoess, if you had done more research on the matter you would soon find out that $700 bucks procedure is NOT done @ the location." Well you didnt read the post correctly, since you are too busy to cover up negative reviews. 700$ WAS paid at the location and it was NOT for any surgery, but a 20 minute consultation and ear cleaning procedure (which I do myself daily) and the same drugs my other regular vet prescribes. So your point is moot. I always take care of my pets and take them to the vet immediately, however I never received such poor explanation and such push for surgery as with this vet practice anywhere. Nor such outrages prices.

We made the mistake of staying with our general Vet much longer than we should have. Day one, Dr. Radwanski, Riverdale Vet. Dermatology discussed Ts dermatological issue in detail and proceeded with the most current protocol - we saw results almost immediately. She was patient with our questions and direct with her diagnosis and approach. instructions were always reiterated verbally by a LVT and thorough written instructions and medical information were provided at each visit. Also, they mail med refills promptly. Weve taken our second dog, D there recently for potential food allergies and were on the right course!!

I have brought two (one allergy issues, the other ear issues) of my three cats to RVD; each and every visit have been nothing but wonderful, and only leave me with the wish that Dr. Helton-Rhodes and her staff were general practitioners. All my experiences have been more than pleasant, very educating, conducted with the utmost respect, and most importantly, my animals were treated with caring, respect, and understanding. I have never felt pressured to go forward with any suggestion/option and I have always been pleased with the end result ~ my furry ones happiness, health, and comfort. Thank you RVD!
