We have had all 4 of our children at Kennedy in township. I can only review the maternity department because thats the only time we ever experience Kennedy. Each time we go in for labor/delivery the place seems worse and worse. The staff does not communicate with each other. There are a ton of "Resident" doctors who are basically students that are learning at your expense. They give you misinformation then the actual attending doctors come in and try to cover up their mistakes by seeming in line with them. Some examples of what weve experienced during different visits/deliveries: - Improper epidural installation (the anesthesiologist hands were shaking the whole time and he put the needle in the spine the wrong way. Had to pull it out and redo it. Blood everywhere Pretty nerve racking. - Resident not reacting quick enough while my boys head was stuck in the vaginal canal. I had to literally yell at the attending and when I did he pushed the resident out of the way and did an episiotomy. Baby came right out. - Its impossible for a recovering mother to get any sleep in Kennedy because there are so many different students and nurses and doctors coming into the room every 5 minutes to ask you the same questions or explain the same things to you in different ways. - there is no nursery anymore. Now mom gets no breaks from the baby. - too many people giving their opinions. Too many residents and nurses giving the opinions that doctors should be giving. It would be better if they just said "I dont know let me ask the doctor". Because by the time the doctor comes and tells you his actual diagnosis or opinion, youve heard 10 different things from residents and nursing staff. Just say "I dont know" and wait for the doctor. - lactation people shove breastfeeding down your throat hardcore. Its almost like they leave you no choice but to breastfeed. We do the breastfeeding in the beginning but its still pretty uncomfortable to be told what to do. This is not their baby. Its yours. Do what you think is the right thing to do for your baby. Not whats right for the hospitals budget. Absolutely the worst hospital to deliver children. We shouldve went elsewhere a long time ago. We will never be back there again - and I suggest that if you want to have a safe and happy post delivery, go to Virtua. Kennedy is uncomfortable and scary to deliver a baby.

The absolute WORST hospital ever! I wouldnt even give them one star, honestly. A few weeks ago, I went to their ER in excruciating pain. (I did not know at the time that I had a huge ovarian cyst in torsion). All I knew was that I needed help immediately, but NO ONE helped me. All they kept saying was "wait your turn". The staff and the nurses didnt even show any compassion. They were VERY rude. (Almost annoyed that I was actually asking for their help!) After waiting for an hour, without even my vital signs being taken, I decided to leave. I managed to get myself to Virtua in Berlin where they saw me right away! Vitals were taken, medicine administered, and a CAT scan was done as fast as they could. This is where I was able to find out what was wrong with me and get the initial help I needed. When they couldnt do anything else for me, they kindly told me they were transferring me to Voorhees- Virtua. I needed surgery... I can only wonder how long I would have had to sit in Kennedy ER before being seen? I imagine they would have let me pass out in pain first, before actually doing something. DO NOT go to Kennedy if you really have an emergency. You will regret it! I promise you that...

I had a terrible experience at this hospital. I went to the ER with chest pressure. I wasnt seen for 10-15 minutes by a triage nurse who said I needed an EKG and chest xray. I waited 30 minutes for the EKG. They said it would be a 4 HOUR wait for the chest xray - so I waited, but they never called me. When I asked the nurses station for an update, they scrambled and sent me down for the xray - basically, they forgot I was there. Hours later, I had an IV port in my arm and the Dr. said it could be removed and I would be sent home. I sat there for 30 minutes, with several nurses walking past me many times, and no one came over. So - with IV port in my arm - I walked over to the nurses station and told them what the doctor said. "Oh really? Let me check on that" was the response, and 5 minutes later, it was out. When I went to leave, a security guard at the desk said "you can leave, theyll just bill you". And bill me they did - for $1500!! My co-pay is $100. Upon calling my insurance, I was told they submitted my claim to the wrong insurance company. I must say, my ER Doctor was incredibly kind, as was the one nurse who assisted the doctor. But... NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

Both times where I was subjected to this hospital, the service was horrible. The first time, my father was having problems with his intestines (they were twisting & dying), he called 911 for an ambulance at 11 in the morning. When the ambulance dropped him off at this hospital, he waited for service until 8 pm & was lying on the FLOOR in PAIN. Then my family & I were told that he needed EMERGENCY SURGERY & that he couldve DIED if they waited any longer. The second time was when I was a teenager & they thought I was ODing on pills (which wasnt the case), they tried taking me to see if my stomach was full of pills so they could pump my stomach. After calmly explaining to the doctor that I wasnt the OD patient & that I wasnt even there for any pill problem, they made me stay in the hallway of the ER while I was getting my health problem fixed. Honestly, this hospital is probably the worst you could go to. The nurses are rude, the doctors wont listen to you, & the service is all around the worst I have ever seen & received. Do yourself a favor & find another hospital.

Went to Kennedys er sometime before 10pm last night with severe pain to the point of nearly passing out multiple times had my vitals checked a few minutes after arriving glad I had the good sense to check the blood pressure machine "very high at 151/89" because the nurse did not inform me of my temp which Im sure was also above average because I was extremely flushed and sweating bullets. There were very few patients waiting when I arrived and no more than a few still waiting when I left. I proceeded to wait in the waiting room until almost 1am when I decided to let someone know that I was leaving I was informed that I was next to be seen so I decided to hang in there until almost 2am after I watched 2 more people be taken back I decided that was it and left still in a tremendous amount of pain... take my advice if you need to be seen take the extra few minutes and go to Cooper or Lourdes youll be glad you did and youll receive much better care! Only rated 1 star because you have to in order to comment in my opinion they shouldnt get even half a star!
