First and foremost, I do NOT recommend this place in any shape, way, or form. Please read the following as to why: Their policy should state they do not accept pets after 7:00am to allow them time to check out current patients and get ready to go home. I called at 7:20 am to make sure they were open and was told they close at 8:00am. I advised the receptionist Yvette, what was wrong with my pet and she told me that they were closing in 20 minutes. (She needs to learn basic math by the way; correct answer was 40 minutes). She went on about how much the labs and x-rays would be, but in an emergency does that even matter?! Cruel and inconsiderate. Its very clear she didnt want to do her job and people with animal emergencies are not welcome right before they close ... You know because they want to go home rather than deal with an emergency. Their bottom line is money and going home on time, NOT animals. I challenge management to contact me. Update: At 7:30am I pulled into Calista Animal Hospital and noticed an employee sitting in their vehicle. Apprehensively, I approached him and advised him of my situation. Calista Animal Hospital went above and beyond by opening their doors 30 minutes before their actual time. All staff was compassionate and extremely helpful in understanding what was going on. My canine is currently being monitored under great care! While in the waiting room, I called Las Cruces Animal Emergency Clinic again and the same lady answered. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told there is no one to speak with and couldnt tell me when to call back for one. Very strange way to treat people. Signed, Former Animal Control Officer

Well what can I say about this place besides the fact that it is indeed a complete rip off in all aspects for starters we brought a cat in with a minor infection on his back anyone can tell right from the start that it was indeed an infection so how much was the initial charge 93 bucks with tax.... Strange I didnt know that you could make nearly a hundred bucks in less then 2 minutes these people are on to something here so about 45 minutes later in an empty clinic the doctor rolls around to see our little cat for all of 3 minutes before leaving works up an estimate for how much to charge for this infection the total was not $120 or $150 or even under $250 the lowest priced course of action was $278 what all did this include you might be wondering well basically a calming drug a shaving a look at the infection and an antibiotic. Well instead of being robbed blind we decided to settle on getting the antibiotic and applying this at home I thought we were being very clever right well no unfortunately we werent in fact after looking in to this $80 15ml bottle of antibiotic turns out you can get it for as little as $25 and if you order more then 4 you get a 2 dollar discount on it hmmmm I do believe in my attempt to avoid getting robbed blind I just got robbed with my eyes open. So would I go back or ever recommend then to anyone I know or even just an acquaintance no i would not instead I would tell them that they should use the internet to find out whats wrong and for ways to treat not to mention there was a least 1 degree on the wall showing that they received it from a distance learning center instead of one where they get hands on training

Two stars because the doctor didnt seem to care that my dog was having diarrhea since Thursday night, let alone how today there was some blood in her stool. Because of how she was acting, all excited because she loves going to the vet and people, they werent as concerned. They offered us two options, which was nice because they did a break down of cost as well, but didnt tell us side effects to look for after agreeing to the cheaper of the two options. They offered a military discount, but did the discount wrong. Drove over an hour(one-way) to get there. Im grateful that they were open on Sunday because theres no vet open or on-call in Alamogordo--which is RIDICULOUS, but driving that far to see an emergency vet is silly also. They need to show more compassion and care for the animal and the owners especially in scary situations... Will NOT be going back again, I will find another emergency vet that has better reviews.

Excellent service. They saw my dog right away. Doctor presented multiple options, even willing to make separate estimates for each option. I declined one option and he didnt pressure against my decision. Quickly provided estimate for the option I chose, even with additional High and Low options. Estimate included detailed cost and explaination by technician. Prices comparable to normal vet office except visit price. At normal vet, they charge $10 for walk-in, $120-140 if you keep them after office hours, plus $40 exam fee. The initial fee at the emergency clinic was just shy of $100. So happy I decided to come here instead of keeping my normal vet office staff late. Just over 24 hours later received a follow-up call by the technician to make sure my dog was doing ok. Again, had an excellent visit and would come back in a heartbeat if needed again.

I gave them a 5 because its not there fault ... I know its just how it works and no ones to blame but me. I had the money to get my pup checked out but thats just it only the check up not the other test they wanted to give him.. Im the only one working and we found a pup little did I know that this pup already had parvo .. I called some one answer real nice. Politely. The check up was 90 I have then she continued to say that the other test would come out to 500$ I asked is there a payment option again politely she said no Im sorry.. I honestly wish there was an option. But thats just the way it happens I guess .. Any ways Im glad with that team its not your fault

Took my dog there after he got into a fight with a javalina and needed some stitches. My dog can be aggressive with strangers and can be difficult to deal with even when hes not injured. But the staff there did well with him and let me keep him clam until he was under. They explained everything what they did to the wounds they found and what I should do after words to keep him healing well. He made a quick recovery thanks to them. Very grateful for them

Our Farm Dog, Gomer, got bit by a baby rattler here in Elephant Butte. The Vet at LC Animal ER was real helpful over the phone - then when we brought our boy to the ER down in LC - the Vet was even better! He gave us common sense options, costs and a recommendation. Our dog is fine now and we have peace of mind. Thanks!!! FYI: heres a photo of him all swelled-up...

Dont take your animals here unless you want them to die extremely rude, unhelpful, no regard for your pets, treat them horribly, treat you horribly. Your pet will be better off not going at all no matter how severe the condition if you want them to live drive to el paso
