Dr. Ghitea and his staff are top-notch! Not enough good things can be said about these guys and this clinic. They are simply incredible! This review is overdue, as Dr. Ghitea has cared for my two dogs and one cat for nearly two years now! The seller of the home I purchased highly recommended Tualatin Animal Clinic. I knew early into my first visit that this was unlike any other vet clinic. The clinic itself is an adorable renovated house with the feel of an inviting, cozy country home. The staff is incredible – friendly, accommodating, upbeat, and caring. More specifically, Dr. Ghitea (Dr. G) an incredible veterinarian – he is knowledgeable, thorough, caring, compassionate, genuine, and good-natured. He explains things very well and very patiently, and follows up promptly with lab results, even if the results are negative and everything checks out well. Dr. G feels like family because that is how he treats pets and their owners – like old friends. The cost of services is also more than fair and I feel that Dr. G only recommends the absolute necessities and at the highest quality of care, unlike other vet clinics in my direct experience. I trust Dr. Gs diagnoses and recommendations whole-heartedly and thats a very nice, reassuring feeling to have from a vet. Two days ago, Dr. Ghitea and Daniel took incredible care of my Australian Shepherd rescue, Obi. I had brought Obi in with fatigue and appetite loss, suspecting a urinary tract infection due to the pee accidents Obi was having. Dr. Ghitea and his assistant (I wish I could recall her name) were very patient with me, and even though Dr. G mentioned a UTI in a male dog would not be too common or likely, Dr. Ghitea took Obi out to the yard himself to obtain a urine sample, and only to notice that Obi was bearing down while walking around as if he couldnt have a successful bowel movement. Dr. G brought me to come see Obis rectum deviated (at this point) to one side, and explained to me that Obi was significantly compacted starting from there upward. Xrays confirmed that this was the case nearly all the way to his small bowel, which is a pretty significant amount of bowel...not to mention it was 3-4 times the normal width/lumen in size. As most pet owners, I felt immediate guilt, shame, and concern since I had switched Obi to a new diet weeks ago and had not realized these changes in him, but Dr. G and his staff did not allow me to be negative or hard on myself. They were full of grace and understanding, and focused on the solution instead. As a nurse (for humans), I was grateful for Dr. Gs empathy, optimism, and the fact that he started out the treatment as conservatively as possible (opting not to start sedation right off the bat for the enema, etc). While I do not know the exact specifics of how the rest of the days events unfolded, I do know that there was a lot of poop involved, and can only imagine how diligent Dr. Gs and Daniels efforts were. Dr. G removed 10oz of stool from Obi (and not under sedation, either) and I was able to pick Obi up at the end of the day after he was rehydrated with IV fluids. Obi is now back to being himself – ate his rice and chicken like a wolf the night I brought him home and is now back to his happy, energetic and “regular” self again on his former diet! I cant thank Dr. G, Daniel, and the rest of the staff for taking such incredible care of Obi and for all the trouble they went through. I whole-heartedly recommend Tualatin Animal Clinic and Dr. Ghitea to everyone I know and will continue to do so.

There was some miscommunication between employees about whether or not they do comb outs for cats, which made it really confusing for my sister and I as we were trying to schedule an appointment. A really friendly guy told us itd be no problem, but when my sister called back to reschedule, she says the office manager made her feel like a burden because it wasnt a service they offer. When I went in for the appointment, the employees were standing around the front desk discussing whether or not its something they offer. The office manager (or at least I think she was, she seemed to have authority) argued to them, right in front of me, "We have no price in the system for a comb out!" I felt it was really unprofessional to argue with your employees right in front of the customer. I can see now why my sister felt like a burden, because the manager was pretty vocal about how its not a service they offer. I can understand not wanting to set incorrect expectations, but saying it just once in a friendly way with a referral to a groomer would be more helpful. And she couldve explained to her staff AFTER Id left, "Hey, thats actually not something we have a price in the system for.." Overall, they helped me when they couldve turned me away, and my cats a happy camper now that his mats are gone. I just wish the customer service had been better.

I have had pets my entire life and have never found a vet clinic that is as amazing as Tualatin Animal Clinic! They take such great care of my pets and the pricing is very reasonable. They are always happy to answer as many questions as I come with (and I always have a list!) and I never feel like they are rushing me out. For really short visits, they even have a special "short visit fee" - Ive never had this before at any other vet. They will genuinely care about your pets. Each time I go there with one animal, they always ask about my other animals and how they might be doing with their last issue. I feel like they think of us as part of the family. My cat has ongoing stomach issues and Dr. G. has said that I can bring in the cat for a quick feel of his tummy in-between appointments if Im worried...for no charge!! Its just not the kind of service any company offers (that Im aware of). I tell all my friends about this clinic and can not speak highly enough about every employee they have. They are all kind-hearted and compassionate people who will make you feel welcome and at ease.

These folks have been taking care of our Golden for years and years. Last Sunday our dog was acting a bit "off." On Monday he got up came downstairs, went outside and curled up in a far corner of our yard. My wife called me at work. I had her take him to the vet., and I met her there. Dr. Ghitea knew right away what the problem was--cancer of the spleen. He was bleeding internally from a burst spleen. Dr. Ghitea was INCREDIBLY compassionate, yet clearly explained what was happening, and what our options were. We realized we were going to have to put our baby to sleep. We really didnt want to do it immediately, knowing our sons would want to see him one last time. We asked about taking him home then bringing him back later that afternoon or evening. Dr. Ghitea offered to COME TO OUR HOME and put him to sleep in the comfort of his own bed surrounded by his family! He got "loved up" all day long, was hand fed barbequed chicken and died very comfortably in our home. How many clinics would provide something like this for a family? I HIGHLY recommend this group of professionals
