I will only ever take my cats here. Why? -Separate area for cats (room only used for cat appointments, complete with pheromone diffuser) -Staff knows how to treat cats compared to dogs. Very competent and compassionate, efficient, and effective. -Doctor provides definitive recommendations for care; she is opinionated, which is a breath of fresh air if youve ever had a vet shrug at you and offer twelve different treatment options for you to choose from. -Cost of care often comes in under what they estimate for surgical procedures. -Doctor clearly wishes to minimize impact of care on the animal. If a followup visit isnt truly necessary (additional cost plus additional trauma for the animal), she wont schedule one. I had a minor surgery on my cat that I assumed would require a followup, but the doctor said that wasnt necessary due to her confidence in the procedures efficacy. -Cost of care is lower than I would expect for a small clinic. I just paid $200 for a very delicate procedure that required pre-anesthesia screening, general anesthesia, a deep ear cleaning, careful removal of buildup on top of the eardrum, and medication. I would have expected to pay twice that much! This is a minimalistic clinic, but it is clean and run well. There is no upselling of anything (treatments, treats, food, etc.). They are professional, compassionate, and do what needs to be done - and ONLY what needs to be done - for your animals health. Even as a low-income student, I have never had an issue with their prices, despite their being a small clinic. And I TRUST them, which means the world to me and my kitties.

Hart Road Animal Hospital is a small, but very comfortable veterinary clinic. As small as it is, I havent had any issues with scheduling or slow service. .the employees are very gentle and good at making you feel comfortable with giving them responsibility for your family pet. They explain everything to you rather than treat you like you dont know anything (some drs. and vets often do at other places). I recommend them for any issues you have with your pet. Theyre great people. Let them prove it to you.

We love Dr. Smith. Hart Road Animal Hospital is definitely not as cheap as your budget clinic but prices are comparable, as in its worth the extra money to pay a bigger price for better quality doctor. The quality of attention and care is excellent, and they take Care Credit. We also took our dog to Companion as the reviewer before this, not in Allen location so I cant speak for that one. Companion had a low office visit fee but vaccines are on par with Hart Rd.

Im a frequent flyer at the vet clinic with four dogs and a cat. I find their service to be friendly and professional, and you can tell they really care about their clients. I dont normally write reviews, but I was a bit disturbed by the really horribly negative review below, especially regarding pricing. Hart Road isnt out of line with other clinics (and yes, long ago when I only had 2 dogs I used to take them to Companion). You wont regret trying them.

Great, friendly customer service and knowledgeable veterinarians. I really enjoy this veterinary hospital and their welcoming, kind staff. I will continue to go here with my pets and will recommend to others as well. Prices are average and quality of staff and care is above average.

We had to put a family pet down and they were very kind and careful about it all. Gave us all the options we could take and explained everything very thoroughly. Definitely not a happy thing to go through but the staff here sure take a bit of the sting out of it.
