My experience with Urban Vet Care has been wonderful. I took my 10 year old miniature pinscher there almost a year ago because he was having respiratory issues. The new patient forms were easy to access online and I was able to make an appointment quickly. When I arrived the staff did have me use the isolation entrance just in case my pup was contagious, but they were still very friendly. We were seen by Dr. White who was very kind and attentive, she took the time for me to fully explain my pups medical history and timeline of symptoms. After an initial exam he needed x-rays and a blood panel done to check for infection in his lungs. Dr. White explained to me her reasoning and let me know a tech would be coming in to give me a pricing quote and some options so I could decide what Id be comfortable paying for. Some people get angry about talking "cost" at a vets office but the simple truth is, its actually very helpful and respectful of them. I was given the pricing of the xray, different tests, exam fee, etc. so that I wouldnt be blindsided at the end. I could choose not to do specific tests if I wasnt comfortable paying for them, it was completely up to me. Vet visits for sick animals are expensive, thats the way it is. Human health visits are so expensive we are required to have health insurance, why is it so surprising that it costs serious money when your pet is ill? If you have a problem with that either dont have a pet or get pet health insurance, which (by the way) Urban Vet Care does accept. After approving the costs all the tests were run and the xrays taken. Dr. White brought in the charts for me to see and explained what she was seeing. Medications were prescribed and I was told what to watch for. The next day Dr. White called me and let me know the test results (which were good news) and one more medication was needed. In the days following Urban Vet Care contacted me a couple times to make sure my pup was doing okay and a follow-up appointment was scheduled. Today he is a very happy and healthy dog, he just turned 11 a few months ago and we just went back to Urban Vet Care to do annual vaccinations. Fun fact, they also send email reminders when your pet is due for vaccines...awesome! Ive been very happy with the care we have received so far and as long as Im in Denver, Urban Vet Care will be where we go! Thanks everyone!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This morning at 5:30am my girlfriend and I woke to our 8 month old boxer puppy being incredibly sick. She had soiled her kennel and was throwing up massive amounts of vomit. This was very serious due to it was coming out smelling like crap. She had emptied her stomach and intestines all over the kitchen floor and steps to outside. She had done her best to hold it in all night, but could not stop until we headed to the vet at 7:30 for an appointment. Anyone who lives in the highlands knows that a thick layer of ice fell over the night, thicker in some places. My girlfriend finally made it in only 15min late and was turned away with a very sick puppy. And told she needed to come back in the afternoon. After being turned away she became stuck in the car unable to drive back due to the ice still on the roads. I realize that the roads were not the vets fault but it explains how dangerous the road were and how difficult it was to get a sick puppy to see them. We will be looking for a new vet and hopefully one that will see our pup and at least give us some info on what to do in an emergency. A vet that provides at least some empathy and understanding during a tough morning. It only takes one bad and scary experience to loose faith in an otherwise qualified vet facility. Update: There was an ubstruction that was found which could have been fatal if left untreated. Hopefully you dont find yourself late to an appointment.

I used this facility as a vet for a long time, while they did help my dog through pneumonia, I must agree with other reviews on here, they were overpriced. I was fond of the staff, but never really felt at home and sometimes wouldnt even be greeted or talked to at the front desk right away. The vet also seemed to come in and out very quickly, never spending much quality time getting to know me or my dog. The last straw come when we were having to put my dog down, they didnt pay close attention to his symptoms and our worries, resulting in going into a emergency vet office (which was vastly better service and friendly staff). Even though they set up my appointment to visit the ER vet and told me they would check in on what happened at the ER. I got a call from a clueless staff member two days later, checking in and wondering why I didnt show up to my previously scheduled check up, this was the day after I had to put my dog down at the ER hospital. The last thing I want from my vet after having to put my dog down, is a clueless call wondering if I was bringing my dog in for the appointment today. So overall, not horrible, a bit more expensive, but not as personable as I would have liked.

WORST VET EVER! Brought my 2 Persians in. My female was ill from flea allergy. Our prior Vet had her on Assurity and its only drug that works $600 for blood/urine tests, Assurity flea topical and Prednisone. Was told i would get test results & Assurity (they had to order) in 2 days. When home i realized they gave me only 4 Prednisone. not enough. A week later after no call from them, I went in, no Assurity, no results. They told me I had to order Assurity myself. Meanwhile, my female has sores all over her body due to allergy and losing weight. 4 days later the doctor calls with results, my male has hyperthyroid. I pickup that med. Was $20 short. He had reaction to the drug. I called and voicemail. Then I start getting 3-4 calls a day about their $20 They didnt ask about the drug interaction, offer a refund...nothing. So after taking him to new Vet for $200 and no hyperthyroid, Assurity online for $100, more Prednisone. $1000 for a yearly exam that usually runs $400. These people care about one thing MONEY! They are rude, alouff, and Incompetent. THIS IS MALPRACTICE!! and CRIMINAL!! My female is still recovering! And new Vet said the thyroid med almost killed my male persian

My first experience at this place wasnt that great, but it was the vet who rubbed me the wrong way. I came in with my dog Henry, concerned about him dragging his back legs, and without trying anything else, she told me I needed to get a MRI that costs 10k first, and cut my visit short. I almost didnt come back. I had to go back for my other dog, Tula, and Im thankful I did. This time, I met with Dr. Sean Lawson. He was kind, smart and offered alternatives for my budget. From that point on, he was the only person I would see, and I highly recommend him as a vet. Both of my dogs were in great care with Dr. Lawson and they both loved going to see him. He gets on the floor with your dog, and just has a gentle, animal loving soul. We recently left Denver to the east coast, and I stopped in for one last check-up with my dogs and felt genuinely sad to leave Urban Vet care. I literally got teary eyed, and Im typically not that emotional. It says a lot. They price match pet meds, the front desk staff are so nice and caring, and the service they provide is amazing.
