We brought our very sick 12 year old dog in on Friday 6/16 to see what was wrong with him. He was swollen and had lost his appetite. The doctor saw us and recommended X-Rays and a blood screening. The bill was going to be $300. They took our dog for x-rays then brought him back and informed us he had swelling of his lymph nodes inside of him as well. They let us know it could be Valley Fever or Cancer and that the blood test would let us know. The doctor told us the test results would take a "few days". They gave us two prescriptions at a cost of $50 more to reduce swelling and help with pain. Skip ahead to Wednesday 6/21, we still hadnt heard anything from the doctor. I called to check the status since our dog was worsening and was told, rather rudely, that they hadnt heard anything and the doctor would call me when they did. Basically, dont call us. Well call you. Skip ahead to today, Monday 6/26, a full 10 days after they took blood from my dog for testing, we had to make the gut wrenching decision to have our dog euthanized. He had completely stopped eating and was unable to walk steadily because his back legs were weak and unsteady. My wife called the clinic again to check on the results and this time, they were magically there although no one had called us. She was told that the doctor was busy and would call her with the results. A while later, the doctor called and let us know that our dog had cancer and an infection. My wife let him know that we were putting our dog down because he was in too much pain and we couldnt wait any longer to hear back from them. She asked him when they received the test results and the doctor would only tell her that "the results were placed on his desk this morning". Of course they were. The lady who found the results when my wife called placed them there. The question was, when did they actually receive the results. Long story short, we came to this place with a sick dog looking for answers and they showed zero urgency in getting us those answers we paid them $350 to find. They were rude in our contact with them and really didnt seem to care about our dogs pain. Knowing now that our dog had cancer, we realize he wasnt going to make it regardless of how quickly they got back to us with results. But how many extra days did he have to suffer while we waited for results that Im sure, if we hadnt kept calling, never wouldve been relayed to us? I recommend going elsewhere with your pet.

So first let me say having worked in the veterinary field for over 17 years I am pretty picky about where I take my animals. All the staff upon check in was very friendly and the office very clean and kept. The first day I eent in for just shots and surgery consult meet a very nice new doctor and a tech who wasnt the best. I scheduled my pets for surgery a couple days later feeling comfortable with knowing they cared the drugs I like to use and where willing to use them. I should also mention that a different doctor was doing the surgery because the new one was not yet on the schedule which I was ok with since they agreed to what was previously talked about. Come the day of surgery we where a little late for check in (I live an hour away from this clinic) due to some accidents but I called ahead to let them know and the receptionist said it would be fine. We go to check in this technician was a lot better and more knowledgeable than the last I went over everything I wanted to double check with the previous appt she went back and talked to the doctor and said yes that is how we do it, so I signed the consent forms was guaranteed that someone wiuld call me and let me know how they where doing so I left my 2 babies in their care. Well I never received a call finally close yo closing I called to check on them, the tech was rude and said yes they where fine and they where getting ready to close and for me to call in the morning to see when I could come get them (remember its an hour drive each way with traffic). So I called in the morning and was told I could come get them they where ready to come home. When I get there I waited 30 minutes until they finally came out only to find out that everything I requested and signed a consent form for wasnt done. You can say I was a little mad and when asked why was told that the doctor changed their mind and decided to use something else. This never should have happened I will also report this to the board. I never received a phone call or consented to change in treatment had i known this would happen i would have taken my animals somewhere else. So all in all great place for vaccinations otherwise I would go somewhere else. I will also say that the doctor that performed the surgery never once contacted me in any way, I also never saw them at any point.

Very surprised that Pet Doctor emailed us asking us to write a review. Well, here goes. We brought our dog in for a teeth cleaning during an advertised special. Approximately one week after the procedure we noticed he had developed a painful lesion and his hind quarters had begun swelling. We took him to our regular Vet who determined that he had received severe thermal burns. The Pet Doctors representative informed us that 4 other dogs had been burned due to the malfunction of the thermal support device used that day. In a conversation our Vet had with the Pet Doctor Vet we learned that a heating pad was used on the injured dogs that day. Veterinary Anesthesia guidelines are very specific in warning against the use of heating pads due to the danger of thermal burns. For over 3 months we had to visit our Vet daily for wound debridement and dressing changes. Every evening, we had to change his dressing and apply burn cream to two open burn wounds approximately the size of an adult male hand. We administered pain, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic medication 3 times daily. The 4th month, our visits to the Vet were reduced to every other day. His wounds healed after 4 months, but he was left with 2 large patches of hairless skin. It was necessary that he wear a shirt when outside to prevent sunburn. Slightly less than one year after his original injury, he developed kidney damage. We put him to sleep 5 days before I write this review. There is no way to determine if the kidney damage was a result of the original thermal burns. As difficult as the ordeal was for our family, it is only fair to say that Pet Doctor regularly reimbursed us for the cost of veterinary care from our Vet without question. The total cost came to approximately $4000.

I took my 5 year old Lab here to be checked out because she was lethargic on a Thursday. After running test they believed it could be valley fever. They did the valley fever test on a Friday and told me they give me a call Monday. After not hearing anything on Monday I called. The receptionist told me my result were in but because she wasnt a vet, she couldnt tell me what they said. The vet I spoke with Dr. Waters wasnt in today so she would call me on Tuesday. I did ask if another vet could call but no one did. I waited Tuesday and didnt receive a phone call. On Tuesday afternoon I was told Dr Waters was in surgery and shed give me a call. At 4pm I drove down there to speak with the vet who still hadnt returned my call. Dr. Waters had left for the day still without calling. I spoke to another vet who said its not Valley Fever, to try this $30 antibiotic and that Dr. Waters would call me Wednesday to to followup. This was three weeks ago and I have never heard back from her or this office. The antibiotics seem to work but I spent five days thinking my dog had valley fever or worse because of how dire the vet made me think it was to deserve $400 worth of test. Dr. Waters couldnt give me the decency of a phone call or follow up. I am so thankful that whatever was going on with Winnie has cleared up. While the staff is friendly, this experience has made me seek a new vet office.
