I went to this clinic after having been warned that Dr Sarah was a rude condescending woman. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt as her clinic has the latest business hours which works best for me most days. The person who warned me against this clinic told me that Sarah was more than rude and that the ways she spoke to her was appalling to say the least. At first I thought that she was wrong about Sarah, for like the first 5 minutes anyway. My dog has had ear mites the past week and the over the counter ear mite treatments you can buy at walmart arent doing much good so I asked Sarah if she would have a look and prescribe treatment. She looked at me like I was an idiot and asked me who told me my dog had ear mites.. I told her we just could tell.. shes had them before. Then she told me that it was impossible... that ear mites dont exist.. that there is NO parasite in North America that live in a dogs ears. I was shocked.. My dog had been treated previously in her lifetime at a vet for ear mites.. Heck I even bought ear mite treatment at walmart last week.. now this woman is telling me I dont know what I am talking about.. they dont even exist?? But since I am no vet I believed her and thought I had learned something most my friends dont know.. since my visit with her this morning I did some research and ear mites DO exist just as I thought pets. webmd. com/dogs/ear-… . At this point Sarah decided she needed to withdraw blood from my dog and so naturally I asked her, will it hurt? Her response was a cold glare and a threat "Dont speak to me right now I am busy with a delicate procedure" She wasnt in fact busy with the procedure yet and I wanted to ask my questions before the procedure NOT after. I was more surprised by the condescending tone she took with me than the fact that she REFUSED to answer a simple question. I responded that I was only concerned for my baby and that I didnt understand why she couldnt answer my simple and valid question.. Her response "Would you like to leave the room?" her brows raised chiding me as though I were a small child and not her paying customer. I was absolutely dumbfounded at this point and felt my money would be best spend at a clinic where I felt more comfortable asking simple legitimate questions before someone jabs at my the neck of my family member with a needle and refuses to answer whether or not it will be painful. So I told her.. please just stop, and I will take her somewhere else. Sarah softened up a smidge at this point and explained that she NEEDED the blood drawn ASAP but that it could be frozen and sent somewhere else.. it would only take 15 seconds and so I asked again, will it be painful for her. Sarahs next snide remark was "Have you ever had your blood drawn? Did it hurt?" I couldnt even think to tell her.. yes I have but not from my neck! I told her okay draw the blood and she forced me to leave the room at that point. When she had the blood drawn (15 minutes later) she came into the lobby where I was waiting and told me she had the blood, I told her I would be taking it to another clinic and she replied "I would prefer if you did just so you know" Then she made a remark about the fact that my mother made the payment rather than me.. as if she thinks its professional to make fun of her customers for their financial situation.. In short, I dont recommend the Ark Veterinary clinic to anyone. I mean, Dr Sarah doesnt even know what ear mites are!! She will be rude to you and then make fun of you as she takes your payment.

I suggest not going to ark veterinary practice in Belgrade and here are a few reasons why; my best description is practiced thieves, they know how to talk fast and use medical terminology to manipulate you as a client for profit. You are paying $45 for a cheerful greeting that is it. She immediately started pushing de-worm pills of which is $20 for each pill when I could of bought a whole pack of de-wormer for that price. Then even after I told them I was on a budget they tried pushing $80 and another $50 unnecessary blood tests of which I wouldnt of known the prices if I hadnt of asked; I said no but she continued pushing me to at least get the blood drawn for later which would of been another unnecessary charge and another vet visit. This was all before she even knew that my cat had a bite wound on his leg of which she then charged me $20 for a simple wound cleaning of which Ive been doing myself. At the end of the visit they said "we are going to GIVE you cleaning wipes for the wound," but at payment they charged me another $20. a bill that should of been $45 plus a $10 treatment turned into a $95 visit. I left the practice feeling used, raped and pillaged

Dr. Lavelle with her wide range of knowledge and her experienced team at Ark Veterinary Practice continually go above and beyond to ensure the best care for their patients all while bringing comfort and peace of mind to the patients owner/caretaker. As an owner of two very active, working Border Collies (with an inexperienced boss) who on occasion have experienced work related injuries, Dr. Sarah Lavelle and her team have alway immediately evaluated the situation and with the utmost professionalism provided the best care possible. And when Dr. Lavelle is unavailable, Nicole demonstrates the professionalism and knowledge to easily handle situations, patients and patient owners in the mean time. They do a great job communicating and explaining diagnoses, treatments and possible costs associated with the diagnosis and treatment. If you are a new pet owner, new to the area, looking for a change and want first in class care for your pet or would just like a second opinion, I highly recommend Dr. Sarah Lavelle and her team at Ark Veterinary Practice.

Dr. Sarah is fabulous. I learned of her from another local vet when I acquired bearded dragons my current vet did not know how to care for. Dr. Sarah has been fabulous. She is patient with my overly protective motherly attitude and has been a wonderful resource when my beardies need more care then I could give them. She is patient, kind and understanding. She listens and addresses all of my concerns. She has cried with me when I have had to put down a pet and laughed with me at the funny things others have done. I love Dr. Sarah and would recommend her to anyone regardless of their pet but definitely for exotics pets like bearded dragons. She is knowledgeable but wise enough to ask for help from specialists when she is unsure of the best way to handle a peculiar problem. Additionally, she has handled my cats just as expertly as my lizards. Thanks Dr. Sarah we (Popeye, Sweet Pea, Tiger, Amelia and their mom) love you! And Cuddles, Rusty, Ivy, and Pumpkin as well as the many babies-lizard and feline-that have been found forever homes thank you for all you did for them.
