Starlite One

VERY poor! My elderly mother has been his patient for almost a year and has yet to meet him. Today I went with her. Surprise the actual Dr was there. While we were waiting (2 hours) she ran out of oxygen. Ten minutes before the battery ran out I notified staff she would be needing oxygen within minutes. They told me to let them know when she ran out. I did. Thats when they started to look for their oxygen tanks but not before they took precious minutes to argue with me about the way I asked. (I said she needed oxygen quickly) The doctor never came to check on her. I finally took her out to the car and plugged in her oxygen. No one ever came to see how she was, never called the house to check on her. The only thing I or she ever got was an argument and a nasty attitude. Yes, time for a new primary care physician.

Dr Is a great guy. Unfortunately he sold or was taken over by Peconic Bay/LIJ and fell victim to current trends. His office staff is horrible to say the very least. They exemplify how the trend to bigger socialized medicine dumbs down the process. ALL they are concerned about is procedure and how they are getting paid. Your health and well being is secondary. True statement.

Really horrible experience. Scripts written incorrectly and then I have to pay for them when the mail order phrama will not take them back. Have asked to get a call from the doctor maybe 6 times and he has never returned my call. Travel further west on the island to get a doctor that is worth anything, I have yet to find one locally that knows what they are doing.

We travel over 400 miles to see Dr. Ruggerio, and will continue to travel, he is that good. He takes his time with you answering all your questions, and never makes you feel rushed. We feel 100% confident in his treatment plans, Ive see many, many doctors through the years and he is one of only a few I have the upmost respect for and trust.

Was a wonder with my 90 year old mother. Extremely patient and cordial. Treated her like family. Thanks Doctor!
